Many of the best video games ever released were RPGs, many of these single player. This may sound shocking considering the 9 million sales of Modern Warefare 3 that have been sold in just the past few days. But the truth of the matter is that at the heart of gaming remains the RPG – Role Playing Game.
Magic: The Gathering – Fallout is a new take on the TCG inspired by Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas and Falllout 76.
Baldur's Gate 3 producer Ryan Clark, who worked at Larian Studios for four years, has joined Fable developer Playground Games
Xbox is definitely the house of RPGs and it´s getting bigger and better by the day!
Fable will be fantastic!
Still waiting to see what kind of game fable will be. Hope it has gargoyles...probably not.
Hope you can pick between male or female and choose something else to distinguish yourself during character creation.
Super excited for this and perfect dark...excited to see what they make that is. Don't have any high hopes but maybe MS can prove me wrong. Playground has been their studio for a long time and the initiative is their only new studio
This is a good get as Baldur's Gate 3 is highly regarded.
But this has to be a hire for their next game right? Why would Fable need a producer now?
Can't wait to see what their '10 year plan' is for Fable.....just like Halo and now Forza. I'm curious to see just how badly they fuck this up with online focused, drip fed content, design and gameplay. Because I know it's going to be nothing like the previous games and anyone expecting that is in for a nasty surprise.
Twinfinite: “War may never change, but the prices of rare games do!”
"And lastly, famous Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling helped to create the action-RPG’s setting. What’s really fascinating, though, is that the game was partially financed by taxpayers from Rhode Island (which allegedly lost the state millions of dollars). Yikes!"
1. Now infamous Schilling
2. No allegedly, it did. And they couldn't pay it back.
3. What really lost the money wasn't the SP release but the MMO they were working on. This was supposed to be an introduction into the MMO world.
I hate counting limited editions for these lists. I mean, they're made to be rare and expensive. It's far more interesting to hear about the NCAAs (even if most people know that one already) and the El Chavos than some massive hit that came with a $200 statue at retail.
Most Xbox games don’t hold as much value compared to other systems. Kameo, Blue Dragon, Last Remnant , and a handful or 2 of other games that I kept.
Chrono Trigger!!!! Fable: Lost Chapters. One of my fav RPG's of all time. Fallout 3 was my number 1 until Skyrim. Skyrim destroys all. They should of added Lost Odyssey in there for best Jrpg.
Fable and DX:HR being on that list without having either of the Baldur's Gate games or Torment: Planescape on it kind of makes that list laughable to me. Deus: EX HR could barely be considered an RPG at all and shouldn't be on the list in the first place. If you are going to make a slot for a shooter RPG on the list the Mass Effect series kills DX:HR anyway.
I can see the rest being there, especially Chrono Trigger, though I prefer FF3 (or 6, whatever you want to call it) to 7 as my favorite Final Fantasy.
I would put any of Diablo 2, WoW, Neverwinter Nights 2, or even the original 2 Bard's Tale games on it before Fable got a sniff of the list.
All that said Skyrim is quickly moving up my list of favorite RPGs ever. It would have a hard time dethroning Baldur's Gate 2 as my top spot though, the BG story was just at another level from anything we see now.
Planescape Torment, Baldurs Gate 2, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights, Fallout 2.
No mass effect 1? :(
Secret of Mana, FFVI, Chrono Trigger
