High end? Now what does that mean...

InFAMOUS14518d ago

unannounced but ASSUMED Modern Warfare 4 through 40...

No, I would assume IW are back to full scalings and back on doing MW4 or whatever is next alone!
Sledgehammer were doing a 3rd person adventure CoD game before MW3, I'm hoping they would continue on that!

Hufandpuf4518d ago

Sledgehammer said they scrapped that 3rd person game.

Coheno4518d ago

Yeah I though I saw an interview where Scofield said that, but wasn't sure.
But really? You think they're making another FPS to alternate in between Treyarch's and IW's CoD's? As a 3rd full fledged CoD studio? And when will their games come out? In between, or will one studio get an extra year to work on their project?

Disccordia4517d ago

Hopefully an extra year. It would really be very beneficial I think

InFAMOUS14517d ago

If I was to take an honest crack, I would say that Sledgehammer will be working with IW again.. Will be something along the line of: IW handles the online portion and Sledgehammer handles the single player side or vice versa. Who knows, and really who cares..

Scofield is a talented game designer and director but Activision is a terrible publisher. It is like being the best mechanical engineer in the world but going to work for McDonalds..

Either way, CoD is done for me until next gen. Hopefully Respawn Entertainment can come up with the REAL CoD killer....

Imagine if.... it were a game that used a NEW engine and didn't look like something from past years..

Imagine if all the suits and Activision smoked meth and lived 500 years in the past...

What I have realized is that Activision is terrified to change what they have..

Honestly, if I owned Activision, I would not change a thing either.. This game is making them BILLIONS of dollars.. No other game in history has done these numbers in the time CoD has.. Why, as a business would you change that? Sure you tweak little things here and there, but you don't change the CORE element of the game.... Not until sales begin to dip and people start to feel or taste the staleness of the game..

While I have been an advocate of Activision creating a new engine for CoD, I have also come to conclude that it just makes ZERO sense for this gen.. I am sure they have completed or are working on something for next gen but right now, they have no reason to do anything different.

lorianguy4518d ago

Well it's likely to be a CoD, or something Activision-published (aka, rip-off DLC infused) but if the core game is decent then they will be respected by me.

SBMM = Skill Based Match Making for anyone who didn't know.

gigoran8150d ago

So what's the problem? Are streamers being matched with actual competent players and getting destroyed without their cheats?

Sephiroushin149d ago (Edited 149d ago )

No, the problem is a player get matched with all other below average team mates and another team is 1 average player the rest players above average ... its like having a team of pro vs a team of newbies this was all leaked through patents you can play with friends and it get more balanced, but then everyone is just camping and the only way to win is well camping which in turn is well not anything close to fun.

That’s too bad. I enjoy TPS games and the idea could work if done well.
