Hmmm... I wonder if this confirms the 'memory leak'. Shame on you Bethesda, you need to get your QA guys and give them a stern shaking of the finger!

andron4522d ago (Edited 4522d ago )

And they basically lied in the run up to Skyrims release. They said this was a brand new engine, but it turns out they kept parts of the old one and here we are with the same old problems.

I played some Fallout 3, but didn't bother with Fallout: New Vegas because of this. And now they basically tried to cheat us into getting Skyrim even though they didn't fix the most important problems.

At this point I have little confidence in Bethesda ever being able to fix this problem completely...

slayorofgods4522d ago (Edited 4522d ago )

Man it must really suck for you to have to miss out on every Bethesda game this generation.

The Fallout and TES games are one of the bright spots this generation.

MariaHelFutura4522d ago

They make some pretty ambitious games, I think people should give them a bit break and have a little respect for the people who are trying to make an epic epic expierence like Skyrim is. Also, I think people should be happy they're very active at try to fix the problems people are having, instead of just sitting back on the $$$ and taking their sweet time. (Like IW did w/ MW2)

andron4522d ago (Edited 4522d ago )

Well I play Fallout 3 and I'm not a big fan of fantasy RPGs. So the only game I'm really missing out on is New Vegas.

But I think it's really inexcusable that they haven't fixed some of these problems that have plagued their games by now. It really puts their abilities and honesty in question as far as I'm concerned...

Edit: And the question remains if this lag/memory glitch is even fixable. This is a major fault that should have been addressed before release...

baboom2234522d ago

Just saying, Bethesda DID NOT make fallout New Vegas. I've seen tons of people linking Bethesda with new Vegas and it confuses me...

andron4521d ago

I know Obsidian was the developer for New Vegas. But it uses the same engine from Fallout 3, so it has the same basic faults that Fallout 3 and other Gamebryo games have. Bethesada is the publisher too so they are in all regards to be held responsible too for New Vegas engine faults...

An update to fix an update!

snipermk04522d ago

yo dawg! we heard you like updates, so we made an update for your update so you can update while you're updating....

DanSolo4522d ago

I definitely plan on getting this game, but I will just wait until they fix the issue.... at least then I will get it cheaper, or get the GOTY edition! lol

kma2k4522d ago

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but getting the GOTY edition is its own monster, check out oblivion the GOTY edition you couldnt finish the quest to cure vampirism but you could in the regular game. GOTY is some times more bug ridden lol actually my fallout 3 goty edition froze WAY more than my fallout 3 game itself. Be leary my friend!

Nate-Dog4522d ago

Guess we'll just have to wait for the second or third update before getting the GOTY version then! -_-

DanSolo4522d ago

Ah ok, thanks for the heads up mate!

I actually had very little problems with both Oblivion and Fallout 3 so I'm hoping I'm gonna be lucky with Skyrim lol!

Although that Save game lag problem NEEDS immediate addressing!

Hooby4522d ago

Even though it would've been pretty much impossible, kinda wish I waited a month before buying the game - when all these issues are fixed and all the mods are there to make it look like tits from the get go.

Creation Kit — Beginning in January, PC players will be able to download the same development tools we used at Bethesda Game Studios to create Skyrim. In tandem with the Creation Kit’s release, we will roll out a new Wiki and videos to help you get started. It also features something we think you’re going to love…

Wow, I can't wait for this one to hit the mod community.

I'm Replaying Skyrim (again), and So Should You

Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.

anast13d ago

I tried, but it's a poorly made game that insults its customers.

lucian22913d ago

nah, only mods make it decent, and even then it's bad, and this is after i modded for at least 3 years

Nittdarko13d ago

Funnily enough, I'm about to play it for the first time in VR with 1000 mods to make the game playable, as is the Bethesda way

The 7 Best Western RPGs: Immersive Adventures

RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.

SimpleSlave13d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave13d ago (Edited 13d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
