Why Skyrim Is The Best Game Ever

Sabotage Times: For the 3rd time in as many days, I’ve found myself staring blankly at the TV wondering why it’s dark outside, why I’m still in my dressing gown and why I haven’t done anything constructive yet.

Sure, I’ll admit this has happened many times before during my life; in this case however, I’ve found myself to be unashamed. I haven’t achieved anything that would seem ‘useful’, but man alive, I’ve seen an entirely new world and I’ve barely scratched the surface. Skyrim has yet to disappoint me, and here’s why.

You enjoy glitches obviously

Plus I started gaming this generation. And listen to the media like a good boy.

Like all games don't have those huh? Man, this game is so beyond anything I've played in a long time. It's so large that you see past any of the issues that come up. The patch is set for this coming week. Then what? You must be enjoying the map pack MW3? Or the new redone BF3? Man, other games are very shallow when it comes to something like this game.

"Man, this game is so beyond anything I've played in a long time"

Same here man, this is hands down one of the best games I've ever played in my life. And I been gaming since the NES. This game makes me feel like I did as a kid when all I wanted to do was play Mario 3. So far my GOTY

Skip_Bayless4526d ago

Maybe you guys are just so starved for a RPG. Stop pointing fingers at other people who you think are being shallow, when maybe you maybe slightly shallow yourself.

ZBlacktt4526d ago

Totally Vinn, I'm near 90 hours in this game and I got it 3,4 days after it came out. The pure randomness out wondering the county side is awesome. Could be fighting a Bear, then all of a sudden a Dragon comes down from the sky. The quests and side quests, all the games items. This is just way to much epicness.

They need to up the NPC interaction a bit... They spend too much time bugging out and generally being idiots/saying stupid things, fully breaking any immersion.

SilentNegotiator4527d ago

Oblivion/Skyrim's NPCs remind me of the 'commercials' on 'The Truman Show'

I_am_Batman4526d ago

Haha nice one.

On topic: I think people should stop sayin things like "this is the best game ever released" because it makes them sound stupid. You can say that it's a great game and way more people will listen to you. Otherwise you sound like a Twilight Teenie girl trying to prove that it's the best thing ever happened.

Skyrim isn't as buggy as everyone makes it out to be, at least compared to Oblivion.

gorebago4527d ago

On pc, I've had almost no problems with the game. I sort of agree with the author. It might be one of my favorite games.

Mutant-Spud4527d ago

He's right but I've found that if you focus on one thing at a time the game is a lot easier to enjoy.
I was losing patience with Skryrim over the last few days but then decided just to focus on the winterhold college plotline and I'm totally hooked again.
I remembered that I was the same with Oblivion to begin with but once you start working through the guilds one at a time and see your character grow these games are a lot more satisfying.

I'm Replaying Skyrim (again), and So Should You

Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.

anast11d ago

I tried, but it's a poorly made game that insults its customers.

lucian22911d ago

nah, only mods make it decent, and even then it's bad, and this is after i modded for at least 3 years

Nittdarko11d ago

Funnily enough, I'm about to play it for the first time in VR with 1000 mods to make the game playable, as is the Bethesda way

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave11d ago (Edited 11d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
