Is Brink worth its new $9.99 price tag?

I'm probably going to get a lot of disagrees, but I actually like Brink in its current state. Sure, the launch was horrible, but what game hasn't had a poor launch? Have we all forgotten about Black Ops all of a sudden?

If you play with friends you can have loads of fun. The game is actually plagued by noobs who have no idea how to work together and play properly. I dare say this game failed due to poor players.

how is the online matchmaking now? i liked brink quite a bit, but when i would jump online i would be playing alone. so essentially i would be in an online bot match hahah. like for some reason i would only get connected to matches with maybe 2 people at the most, sometimes. haven't gone back to it because of that.

I bought it from Gamefly a few weeks ago for ten bucks and I think it was a pretty good purchase. I can see why it got poor reviews, but I've found it pretty enjoyable overall.

Yeah, most games release finished, but you can't pretend many games (some of which were highly reviewed, had huge budget and major hype) haven't indeed also launched broken.

It have happened to all platforms, exclusives and multiplats, physical media and digital versions... I'm not saying it's alright to release the game broken, it isn't, but I can see why he would assume it to be usual as in fact it is.

The Pc version us better than the console version. If you must get Brink, get it on the PC. The console version is kind of blurry and indistinct.

i honestly didnt think the game was THAT bad. It wasnt great but it had its fun moments! I got the game during the psn downtime & finished it with just bots since its all i could do, The day i was ready to quit playing it the psn came back up, maybe it was just that i was used to it by then but it was more fun with online.

This game was horrible, no two ways about it. People were frothing at the mouth while I sat back and called it the whole time. Call me irrational, call me whatever you'd like, but the fact remains that I was right.

I was reported for trolling and subsequently a poster raised several reasons why the game was SUPPOSED to be good. Lol. But it was't. Maybe I wasn't the irrational one, maybe it was the guy who defends this game till the death.

I played it more than I played Rage. At least Brink's textures load properly. I returned Rage, and I still have Brink. I'm more focused on other games right now (Ico/SotC and Disgaea 4), but if I wanted a shooter game I'd say its worth $10. Nothing wrong with a shotgun and a face painted like the Union Jack for a little fun.

for 10 bucks it really has to be worth it, even if i struggle through a rainy weekend and then sell it on EBAY for 10 bucks, i consider 10 bucks basically the price to rent this anyways. just like James Bond bloodstone, picked that up for 13 bucks, totally worth it.

I loved it!

Playing as an operative was tons of fun. Especially if you go around and disrupt the engineers.

Using the EMP grenade to disable turrets and land mines, to hacking the turrets then placing a control on it and manually use it against them. Hacking downed opponents for information, then using them as a disguise to penetrate defenses.

Playing as an operative was too much fun but with games like Gears 3 and such you are not going find many full matches.

And the single story being just bot matches that you can have random people join seemed disjointed.

Overall I loved it, but lack of players playing made me put the game aside. Might have to pick it up again.

no, its not. go out to see a movie and spend an extra 5 on some popcorn. WAY better than going online (the only option in this game) and finding out there is noone else to play it.
