Crysis Xbox 360 Gameplay Part 2 (HD 1080p)

@Ve3tro: "Here's the second part of Crysis running on Xbox 360, here we get to see a better look at the surroundings such as the water and foliage in the day."

PCRockStar4580d ago

Wow! Color me Impressed!
I used to play this game all the time on the PC. It really does look amazing on the 360.

Cataclism04580d ago (Edited 4580d ago )

Yeah this is really impressive, it just pisses me off that if crysis 1 can run great on consoles why was the level size of crysis 2 scaled down so much?

PCRockStar4580d ago

Good question mate!
I wonder why I got 2 disagrees?

kennyboy4580d ago

they said in honestness crysis 2 had way more detail than the first game

Crazyglues4579d ago (Edited 4579d ago )

Yeah the game really does look amazing on Consoles, and that's coming from someone who played it on a high-end PC...

If your expectations are not ridiculous then you can appreciate what they have done here, the game really looks good and it has some new effects - better explosions - nice feel...

I'm actually enjoying it on my PS3, Nicely done... Now I want Crysis Warhead - to complete my collection..

Really Nice job Crytek... I'm impressed..

put it in fullscreen at 720p, it don't look that great!

It looks like the pc version on low in 1024x600!

It's also missing about 75% of the foliage!

BiggCMan4580d ago

Bullshit, this does NOT look like Crysis with low PC settings, this is definitely the high area. It practically looks just like high settings, without any mods. Add mods however, and the consoles would definitely have trouble rendering it. The foliage looks a LOT better than I thought it would look as well.

Shadowaste4580d ago (Edited 4580d ago )

http://www.youtube.com/watc...

looks close......

heres a comparison.....and yes....it's about low!

http://www.youtube.com/watc...
(in this comparisson the low spec pc version looks better in some spots!)

ProjectVulcan4580d ago (Edited 4580d ago )

It is medium at best. After many many years of experience with Crysis the equivalent settings seen in the console versions are medium at best, with the textures, shadows, water and post process lighting taking the worst hits besides the resolution and AA of course.

The textures are what reduces the fidelity the most, with max settings on PC being an absolute truckload of 1024 x 1024 textures and several 2048 x 2048 textures too. Even on medium the texture fidelity on Pc is superb. Try and find a ground texture like this on the console version. The vast majority on PC match this resolution even on medium : http://i731.photobucket.com...

Console clearly tops out with 512 x 512 efforts we are used to seeing on most console games, to save memory.

When you see the console version in isolation- then it looks pretty good i must say. Crytek did a great balancing act trading off the most demanding settings against the performance they needed.

However when you actually stand it next to the PC version maxed, when you see them together then it is blown out the water across the board, the gap is big. But then what did anyone expect?

If you are buying this on console then you probably never played the first on PC anyway, you probably never even sat and experienced it first hand.

So it'll be impressive to you and good enough. Enjoy it, its a great game regardless of all these visual comparisons.

No Way4580d ago

Why the hell would I want to 'look close' anyway? Why nitpick stuff so much?

gcolley4580d ago

no need to look closely, the popup is horrendous

Are you kidding me!? No wonder PC fanboys downplay all console games, they think the compressed YouTube videos expanded to full screen represents the quality.

Shaman4580d ago

PC on the low? Son,please...It even has parallax occlusion mapping on consoles.

BTW, here is low.
http://www.thebuzzmedia.com...

Tyre4579d ago

Exactly, i was also amazed that they managed to even add parallax occlusion FX in the console version, Crytek did some serious work here!

thor4580d ago

People forget that even a crappy computer could run Crysis. Now I think it still looks better than the lowest settings on PC but the whole thing with Crysis was being able to run it at MAX settings at a high resolution. Any crappy computer can run any game at console resolution without too much trouble.

PCRockStar4580d ago

It might have been running like crap on your system, Upgrade son!

CoReI5K4580d ago

PC owners are left speechless and troubled and bitter......Of all that $$$ spent on upgrades on pc when all they had to do was buy a xbox360.

BiggCMan4580d ago

It looks a lot better than I personally thought it would, so that is great news. However, you still cannot get it looking like this on the consoles:

http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Not a massive deal, because it's all about the game in the end, and it was always a very fun game to play regardless of the graphics settings.

kennyboy4580d ago

sure cant but then again its not rebuilt for the consoles anyway so have fun

iamgoatman4580d ago

Judging by you name and avatar, you forgot the /s.

Eyesoftheraven4579d ago

.... It has been almost 5 years since the game first came out, you maniac. PC version is still graphically superior and there's still Crysis Warhead which is superior to both Crysis 1 and 2 on PC.

TitanUp4580d ago

happy that console gamers get to play this awesome game its not always about the graphics and most of the time it isn't about graphics

No one cares. The whole can it run Crysis is old, dead and stupid. It's also irrelevant, considering only less than one percent of pc owners, own a high-end PC. Second, I believe Crysis wasn't even optimized properly.

TheColbertinator376d ago

Crysis blew my mind back then and still kinda does.

bunt-custardly376d ago

Let's hope the modders can get the other Crysis games working in VR as they use the same Cryengine.

Bioshock still looks fantastic, one of my all time favorites.

Yui_Suzumiya448d ago

Beyond: Two Souls on PS3 can compete with modern day graphics.

SonyStyled448d ago (Edited 448d ago )

Same as Killzone 2 and 3, uncharted 2 and 3, Infamous 2, Heavy Rain, Resistance 3

jasonismoney448d ago

I wish this was entirely true, but you might want to load up Killzone 2 and Resistance 3 again.

SonyStyled448d ago

@jason I watched some gameplay videos of KZ2 and R3 on my full screen. They are on par or succeed graphically to the first person shooters mentioned in the article that also launched on the seventh generation of consoles. Try the same and see what you think

cthulhucultist447d ago

Killzone 3 was super impressive! I could not believe the graphics back then as I was regularly pausing the game to stand in awe looking at the surroundings! Resistance however did not impress me that much. Heavy rain is also another amazing graphically speaking game. It almost felt next gen

Fist4achin448d ago

I always thought the first 3 Gears of War games looked great and still hold up for today.

SonyStyled448d ago

They did for their day. I recently played gears judgement with on the 360 and the draw distance was so blurry. The characters up close look great though

JEECE448d ago

Far Cry 2 was awesome. In addition to having demonstrably better physics and AI than later games in the series, it had a lot of design decisions that, criticized at the time, have since been praised in games like BOTW and Dark Souls.

iNcRiMiNaTi448d ago

It might not be super amazing by today's standard but I thought Mgs3 looked really good

JEECE448d ago

In terms of art style it still holds up.

Can It Run Crysis? The Only Steam Deck Question That Matters

Digital Foundry: "When Alex Battaglia got his hands on a Steam Deck, this was inevitable, right? So can the Steam Deck really run Crysis? And if so, what type of optimised settings produce the best performance? What's the best balance of features and battery life... and what about 60fps?"
