i hope i will not need to buy second gtx 570 card for playing bf3 on ULTRA

superrey194593d ago

I have a gtx570 and I think we'll be able to run the game at high settings, but not ultra... A gtx 580 would probably be needed for that.

BiggCMan4593d ago

Love my new GTX 580 Lightning edition!

ProjectVulcan4593d ago (Edited 4593d ago )

An overclocked 570 is about as fast as a stock 580. All the 570s i have seen are excellent overclockers on their stock coolers- try MSI afterburner. They can take a fair bit more vcore and a great deal of them will go up to and some beyond 870/1740 core/shaders. Just those speeds is a fairly impressive 20 percent gain.

Just watch the temps...

Expect the new generation of cards within 5 months, ones that will blow GTX580 away no trouble. AMD may even launch these before the end of this year so i wouldn't buy an expensive new card right now if i were you- bad idea.

malol4593d ago

lol !!!
i think i can max it out

bumnut4593d ago

I already have 2 and will be gutted if I can't max it.

SLI is not all that, it makes your machine sound like a hoover and is not supported by all games. The games that support it are great, but Just Cause 2 for example runs worse with SLI. Dead island does not even support it.

superrey194593d ago

I would be surprised if it didn't support sli. I'm sure you'll be able to max it.

solar4593d ago

it should. i just bought another GTX 560Ti (with a free copy of Batman:AC :) and id be disappointed if it didnt!!!

ProjectVulcan4593d ago (Edited 4593d ago )

I had many dabblings with SLI, and often its up to you to find fixes for games. Nhancer is a useful tool. Generally i found SLI to be pretty stable and work well with many games, but it is highly frustrating when it doesn't work with that brand new resource hogging title that just came out and the driver update won't fix that for 2 months etc etc :(

Which is why I still prefer single card. That and the microstutter which did/still does drive me nuts.

As for Just cause 2, it used SLI fine for me when i have tried it.

farhad2k84593d ago

Will two 'ASUS 550 Ti's' be able to run the game on Ultra with a AMD X6 processor?
http://www.ginger6.com/asus...
That's the graphics card I'm talking about.

farhad2k84593d ago

I hope it does.

And lol, why did I get 2 disagrees for asking a question? =S

SonyNGP4593d ago

I've got 2 GTX 570 OC'd, primed and ready!

Flavor4593d ago

If nothing else, DICE games are always very well optimized. I think folks are overestimating a bit, and are going to be able to get very good results with basic quad cores (i3's and up) and any DX11 graphics card with 1gb or more. I keep repeating that alot of people, myself included, ran the non-optimized alpha very well with dual cores.

superrey194593d ago

There seems to be a disgruntled console fanboy disagreeing with everyone on this thread lol

Yes! I thought my GTX 560 Ti wouldnt do DX11...but it will =D
edit: btw anyone know if this will have pad support? Im new to PC gaming so it will take time getting used to mouse & keyboard (will practise alot) but since I want to play right away, pad is my only hope

bumnut4593d ago

I don't think it will, previous battlefield games have been keyboard/mouse only.

You will soon get used to it though, and find it is more accurate than a pad.

rajman4593d ago

Thanks, cant believe people would actually disagree with what I wrote lol Not everyone is a PC veteran, Im certainly not

Pixel_Pusher4593d ago (Edited 4593d ago )

I think I remember reading a while back that BF3 will support controllers but aim asset will not be enabled.

In previous BF titles, you could use a pad for vehicle controls. As for player control, I don't know.

ZeroX98764593d ago

just use Xpadder to transfer mouse/KB controls on a gamepad. if you adjust the settings, you can get some pretty decent controls, but if you don't want to get pwned too much, use the mouse/KB combo....

DeadlyFire4593d ago

BF3 likely will support gamepad, but you might find it hard to hit things. A mouse is like god compared to the gamepads out there and the sensitivity they have compared to little sticks on controller.

PC controls are simple. Mine = wasd moves, r reloads, c crouch, z or x for prone, q for spot, e for use/action, mouse 1 fires, mouse 2 alt fire. Best thing about PC games are most controls are mappable. If you have ever taken a typing class. Essentially most keys you want to use will be within your left hand's typing position.

I got a GTX 560 Ti the other day :)

Dragonlord1124593d ago

I disagree I use the same graphics card what he has and I can run crysis 2 with DX11 and all ultra high smoothly, so running BF3 won't be a problem for me, I still don't know about the other guy since there's other requirements then graphics card.

caboose324593d ago

I was running the game on medium with a GTS 250 during the alpha.

I'm sure a GTX 560 Ti will do a little better then that.

STONEY44593d ago

Not just a little, alot. My (OCed to stock GTX 570 performance) GTX 560 Ti runs better (and without the annoyances with SLI) than my old SLI GTX 275 setup.

chak_4593d ago

alpha was a little rush map, conquest 64 on big map isn't demanding the same power AT ALL.

My PC sucks so I'll be playing on PS3, but PC owners enjoy this gem!

Convas4593d ago

YES! My upcoming rig will handle this quite nicely. Glad I decided to roll with the Radeon HD 6950 2GB!

hmmm I think there will be no old BF glory days for EA since they are loyal to their greediness and laziness :D

Knightofelemia519d ago

You're asking for a miracle with EA that will never happen unless they can exploit the money making schemes behind it.

MadLad519d ago

We'll see what happens now that Zampella is overlooking the series.
