Does this fix the cloud save Bug?

zeeshan4601d ago

I pretty much HATE these useless and frequent updates! This is getting rediculous! I hope they fix the mic volume and virtual 7.1 surround sound for the newly released wireless headsets.

saladthieves4601d ago

@zeeshan

Agreed. I've been having mic volume problems as well. I hope this update fixes it. I'll update tomorrow and see what happens.

SuperStrokey11234601d ago

I agree, i dont see the point in many small updates. Wish they did just 2 updates a year or something. Not something super small.

However, I suspect this update has something to do with the upcoming PSV launch.

WhittO4600d ago (Edited 4600d ago )

^^ prob nothing to do with PSV.

It's really annoying because there is SO much they could do with PS3 to make the experience for it's users even better, but they just don't seem to be putting in the resources at all.

I understand the focus is PSV, but would it really kill their profits THAT much to have a team dedicated to enhancing PS3 XMB/PSN??!! And not the 1-2 people they seem to have running everything now...

Honestly, I think I get so P/O with the FW updates these past 2 years because I bought an expensive system (at the time) because I believed it would be supported for years to come and had so much potential, but it feels like they have just dropped most of their support in terms of OS/PSN upgrades.
Especially when you see MS bringing huge enhancements to their even older system (compared to what Sony has been spitting out anyway).

I won't be buying the next console with what it "Might" have next time, with all the promises and BS Hype ...cross game VIDEO CHAT haha what a joke.

Took them like over a year and a half to bring in-game XMB, which barely worked at the time and which has not has a SINGLE update/upgrade...AT ALL, meaning, it still barely works now.

BrianG4600d ago (Edited 4600d ago )

To those who don't want these "useless and frequent" updates.

How else are they going to fix small issues like the cloud game save bug (which you can fix yourself by updating your time via internet in the settings) or the volume bug with they new 7.1 headset?

Would you like them to fix it now, or in 4 to 6 months with the next big update?

Drake_Seraphim4600d ago

I'm glad they have frequent updates! That lets me know that they are actively seeking fixes to any problems, no matter how "small" they may seem. I'm sure this update matters to someone, and on their behalf I say "thank you Sony"

PirateThom4601d ago

I'm pretty sure that was already fixed in the background, because mine has been saving fine since a week or so ago.

Gray-Fox-Type04601d ago

another useless update yay no features

SilentNegotiator4600d ago (Edited 4600d ago )

Yeah, how dare Sony add system stability without adding features!
Darn you, Sony!

Version 3.72 just bricked my PS3rd!!!

Biggest4601d ago

My car broke down! Thanks a ton, PS3 update. YOU SUCK!

just_looken4601d ago

for all those that never had a ps3 in 2006 ill tell you what these patch's are for they are making the ps3 ready for all the vita connectivity and ps3 only features. So when you get your vita you can do what you do with your psp like remote play/file transfer video stream etc and do the extra of what vita can do. None of what you see on the xmb relating to the psp was there when the ps3 first came out it was patched in. Just like the psp the vita needs patching in but there being sneaky about it.

Oh here is a tip head to xmb chat invite a friend don't let him join and watch his avatar they now glow kind of and move all over the place added via patch before this.

limewax4601d ago

Sorry but no, The Vita compatibility will be in firmware 3.80, This is just how Sony updates work, you get minor fixes in units and major patches in tens.

Why on earth would they want to sneak it in? the Vita is coming and PS3 needs patching, Sony aren't going to care for going stealth, they want people to know about the Vita and you can bet when you get FW 3.80 it will bring a fairly in your face Vita advert in one of the XMB tabs.

This patch it likely related to other recently released PS3 compatible products

spektical4601d ago

hidden features going to show up soon...

god i wish sony would just say whats in the box...

FrightfulActions4601d ago

Agreed. I know not everyone cares that much about all the specifics, sometimes its just minor tweaks, but Sony should still release a option on their site or something that lists all the changes a certain firmware does, rather than just key points. I shouldn't have to rely on some fansite posting of the "hidden features" of firmware - they should just tell us. Would a simple little .txt file for "See all new features/changes" be that hard?

thespaz4601d ago

You know... my PS3 doesn't seem any different. Oh well.

Is this the update that provides the new T&Cs that get you to waive your right to taking out class-action suits against Sony for security breaches?

oohWii4601d ago

Have haven't anyone answered this question. I am curious also if this update forces you to waive your right to file a lawsuit against Sony if the decide to screw you over.

All of the know-it-alls on this site and this question still unanswered.

Ren_4601d ago (Edited 4601d ago )

It makes you agree to only sue as an individual and not as part of a group if you are going to sue for whatever reason:

“Any Dispute Resolution Proceedings, whether in arbitration or court, will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class or representative action or as a named or unnamed member in a class, consolidated, representative or private attorney general action”

You can write Sony to opt-out of this agreement after agreeing to it on PSN however. Not sure on how many days you have to do this though.

Haven't done the update yet myself so still do not know if the new terms and conditions are included.

***EDIT: A friend just updated (EU account) and only the normal update agreement appeared. No new T&Cs.

Leviathan4601d ago

The new t&c was released recently..right before the update.

Ren_4601d ago

@oohWii - no worries mate

@Leviathan - I didn't have to agree to the newest T&Cs yet :S

SilentNegotiator4600d ago (Edited 4600d ago )

"All of the know-it-alls on this site and this question still unanswered"
-
It absolutely has. That came out a LONG while ago with the need to agree with the new TOS to sign in. But since you don't have a ps3, you wouldn't know.

"I am curious also if this update forces you to waive your right to file a lawsuit against Sony if the decide to screw you over"
-
No one has to service you, especially if you're suing them. Why you'd continue to use a service that's SO HORRIBLE that you're suing the company over it, anyway? Either sue them and don't use it, or use it and don't sue. TA-DA!

oohWii4600d ago (Edited 4600d ago )

Yo rump roast, I actually do have a PS3. Haven't used it in a while. (haven't used my 360 that much in a while either for that matter.) However, It's not a question of using a system or suing the company. It's the principle behind, hiding behind a service agreement while blocking people of using PSN.

It's like me telling you, AFTER you buy a car that if the don't come to the dealership and sign and no suit agreement your warranty will be voided.

Or buying and game online and telling me AFTER the transaction is completed that you will not send me the activation code until after I sign and anti-lawsuit agreement.

If I had to sign this type of agreement at the store before buying my PS3, I would have pass on it and saved my money. (Just saying.)

IMO, if you weren't doing sh!t that screws people over or rips people off, there would be no need for this type of waiver agreement.

Everytime I turn around Sony's doing some type of shady half legal BS.

To me this is just a LAME ass way to protect yourself. (while forcing your customers to not protect themselves.)

Mugen Souls Retro Review – Sexy Demon Space Adventure

Gary Green said: We have a juxtaposition of 2D and 3D visuals, flashy turn-based combat, quirky anime characters with cheeky dialogue with plenty of partial nudity; Yes, this is a Compile Heart JRPG. Whilst the engine is borrowed from Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2, Mugen Souls is more of a Disgaea spin-off. It’s not a strategy RPG as such, it merely sits within Disgaea’s ever-expanding universe (Multiverse? Netherverse? Your guess is as good as mine). You won’t find cameos though, since Mugen Souls is a franchise which aims to stand on its own two feet.

Looking Back At 2008, An Unbelievably Incredible Year Of Video Game Releases

Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."

CrimsonWing697h ago

I don’t think anything can compare to 2023

lucasnooker7h ago

1998 - the best year in gaming! Metal gear solid, crash bandicoot 3, medievil, half life, ocarina of time, thief, tenchu, resident evil 2, Spyro, tomb raider 3, oddworld abes exodus, banjo kazooie.

It was a different breed of a gaming era. You’ll never understand what it was like back then. The aura of gaming, it was different!

KyRo7h ago(Edited 6h ago)

I second this. Gaming was a lot more varied and fun than it is today. I'm 35 so getting on compared to some here but I got to see all the changes from NES up to now but I've never felt so disappointed in any generation than I have this current gen. I was expecting more from this generation rather than prettier versions of games that came before it. Game mechanics have become so refined that alot of games feel the same and has done for a while now.

Maybe it's time to have a break for a while. I love gaming but I don't feel I get much fun in the traditional sense out of it anymore.

CrimsonWing696h ago(Edited 6h ago)

Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2, Abe’s Exodus, and Ocarina of Time are the only things from that list that I liked.

Here’s the 2023 game releases that I personally liked… and big releases that I didn’t care for:

- Dead Space Remake
- Wo Long Dynatsy
- Resident Evil 4 Remake
- Diablo 4
- Fire Emblem Engage
- Hogwarts Legcay
- Street Fighter 6
- Hi-Fi Rush
- Like a Dragon: Ishin
- Octopath Traveler 2
- Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters
- Final Fanatsy XVI (actually ended up not liking this, but it was still a big deal release)
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
- Lies of P
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Starfield (Ended up hating this one, but big release)
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder
- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (I’m an old-school Zelda fan, but didn’t really enjoy this game)
- Alan Wake 2

I mean, honestly I’ve never seen a year of major IP releases like that, ever.

Profchaos3h ago(Edited 3h ago)

Isn't it just a generational thing realistically.

I've been gaming since way back and I some of my favourite games go as far back as the late 80s for me each generation has a year or two of game changing releases one after another before an inevitable dry spell.

I kind of agree gaming had a different feel games hit different because we didn't have the internet nothing got spoiled and you really had to put in the effort to beat a puzzle which could set entire groups of people looking for a solution. But most importantly games were experimental and not as cookie cutter as today even basics like controls were not universal today r2 is shoot l2 is ads garunteed you can't deviate from that in a shooter back then it could of been square, R1 or R1 and circle nothing was standard.

But as time moves on a new generation picks up their controller they are going to be interested in different things that PS1 demo disc with the t Rex blew our primitive 16 bit brains back on launch but to kids today it's laughable.
The new gen of kids coming into to hobby seem to value different things to us there seems to be a huge focus on online play, streamers, gaming personalities, and social experiences, convience of digital downloads. To me I value none of that but that's ok like my parents not liking the band's I would listen to its just the natural cycle.

6 Fun Games Where You Actually Play As The Bad Guy

While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.

Profchaos13h ago

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Tacoboto12h ago

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

banger8812h ago

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).

ChasterMies1h ago

Trevor in GTA 6 is a sadist and psychopath who dabbles in cannibalism. Should be top of the list. These game “news” sites should hire people that know games.
