Will Monster Hunter 4 be a 3DS Exclusive?

Capcom to me is VERY stupid. I don't understand why this game won't come to PS3. When I say that I would like to see this game made specially for the PS3 not some HD port that doesn't make it state side! Hopefully it's just they haven't announced anything yet but it still is stupid on there part. Maybe I'll be on the Vita, I would like to play this game on the go.

Tri and 3rd are completely different from each other. Tri was great because it had underwater battles and bowgun customization but 3rd beats it in everything else.

Uh I love Monster Hunter Regardless of what Console it's on. I thought 3 was gonna release for PS3 so I bought one ahead of time. Then found out it was for the wii and went for that. Now I'm just gonna wait for it to come to Vita (since I am most def buying that) since Capcom has done it with every other Console MH game by bringing it to handheld.

Plus it's not like we get a bunch of MH news

I feel like that's the case, myself.
Especially the comment section of the original story for the announcement on n4g. Most of the comments either bitched about how it wasn't on ps3, or dismissing it by stating it would come to Vita eventually, instead of being exited about it at all.
I can't wait to play monster hunter tri g, and hope 4 comes out soon, to. Monster hunter is one of my favorite games, and one of gamings best overall.

But it's not about the GAME, everyone is focusing on the fact it's NOT for the ps3 or vita.
If people were just talking about the game itself, it would be another thing altogether. But the apparent majority is simply focusing on the fact that Nintendo took away Sony's big advantage in Japan. We all know that Monster Hunter is not that big in America, so what else could explain such a dramatic rise in interest? Like you said, why should people get exited for a game on a console they apparently hate?
It may be just an assumption, but it's not a baseless one.

Possibly. We know Nintendo has gone out of their way to friend up third party developers and publishers and considering how Nintendo treated them with the Wii, it would have taken money to secure MonHun. I think we'll see it on Vita somewhere down the line, but FOR NOW, it's exclusive to 3DS. We'll see though. It's up to Capcom really. If they want to keep cock blocking this franchise from it's full potential just to make bucks then that's their problem. Not ours to worry about.

First of all the second stick is completely optional and in the case of tri G the game is perfect without it according to most hands on. Even improving on the wii game in every aspect, like shadowing, load times, ect.

Monster hunter tri gi is launching during the holidays. And by the time 4 comes out the 3ds will have an install base of well over 15 million . Therefore sales are going to be tremendous.

Both the monster hunter 3 are different versions so there will be 2 different versions one for 3ds and one for vita.

It's not really a big deal. Knowing Capcom, eventually another MH will grace onto the Vita.

It's not a big deal for me either way as I could never truly get into MH but I do have friends who love it on the PSP.

Monster Hunter + 3DS = I'm happy.
As long as I can buy it for the 3ds, I don't care if it goes to another console.
Although, I do have a theory...
Timed exclusive would be the best outcome for Nintendo, gamers, Sony, and Capcom.
People will buy vita for monster hunter, even if it's available for the 3ds. A timed 3ds exclusive release would still sell alot, and then later, a Vita port/ upgrade would also sell alot.
Capcom maximizes sales by playing both platforms, Nintendo and Sony BOTH increase their console sales, and more gamers have access to the game.

Wow, its apparent that people don't know Capcom at all. If anyone thinks that Capcom would miss the chance to put either this or some other MH game on the VITA after it made them a mint on the PSP, then you clearly have been asleep under a rock for the last 20 years or so. Nintendo has never paid for anything to be exclusive in their existance and they aren't going to start now. So could we stop the multiple articles about MH being a Nintendo exclusive from now on and Capcom being on Nintendo's side. Everyone knows that's BS and yet you keep saying it. Release it on 3DS first and get people to buy it then release 4G portable which will use Vita's features such as the good graphics,controls and online so it seems like a natural succesor and get everyone to buy that too.

That way Capcom maximise their profits. They saw how portable 3rd sold late in the PSP's life so they thought why not do it again.
