A 90 is "worth lookin into i guess" ? Sounds to me no matter what the score is ur not interested. Id say a 75 was worth lookin into but 90 sounds like a must buy....i guess

The only thing that leaves me a little baffled is the score on the story. I mean, Gears 1 story was... well... there was no story. At least worth writing home about.

All the other aspects of the game look good. Gameplay, graphics, etc, but the story?! Really?!

I hate how people judge a game only on reviews. For fuck sake, think for yourself!

And then people complain that there is nothing but FPS games this gen - the reason is so many people wont buy a genuinly good and unique game, like Enslaved - because it doesnt have a massive metacritic score. If people did buy into games that some critics dont like very much, they would find there is a ton of games that they enjoy - becuase a review is that reviewers PERSONAL OPINION on the game - and publishers would start taking notice and pay for more of these unique games to get made rather than us having to play the same shit in different skin over and over each year.

Uh, I can't think for myself what a game is like before I purchase it and play it myself. That's why I kind of like reading reviews. So if a game is terrible, I can pass on buying it and playing it, instead of wasting $60. Doesn't mean I trust every review, doesn't mean I only buy 90+ on metacritic games. But, thinking for myself in this scenario only gets me so far. I'm not going to stop reading reviews, but it's just important to take them with a grain of salt, imo.

It currently sits at 92, which is identical to LBP2 - which if you recall is the only PS3 exclusive in the past year to reach that score.

Actually, to find a PS3 exclusive scoring anything higher then 92 metacritic you'll have to travel almost two years back in time to Uncharted 2. So I guess that comparatively "barely breaking 9's" is not all that bad. You need to get a little perspective for how rare 90+ titles are be it on any console or PC.

personally I can see where the guys coming with the points he brang up, Cheeesy? gears has always been a bit cheesy. As for the gameplay what I deduced from the beta was that there were numerous changes but it never straved away to much from the core mechanics so thats a point. Nevertheless I'll be buying it and enjoy it thorougly. MW3 will not get a rating that good, blacks op didn't get anything spectacualar and given mw3 identical look to mw2 IGN would be stupid to put up with that. MW2 is a good game you know but also signifies the point at which the gameplay began to get stale

On topic: 9/10 is a almost perfect score also havent they removed the x.5 reviews on IGN? Remember 5/10 is an average. Looking at the comments it looks like PS3 fans is downplaying the scores after the Xbox 360 fans where downplaying Grand Turismo 5.
