Kinect Star Wars Hands-On Preview | CheatCC

CheatCC - Long ago, in this very galaxy, the Star Wars Kid became one of the first YouTube celebrities when he was filmed pretending to fight with a lightsaber. People may have mocked the poor lad, but many gamers knew the truth deep in their hearts: it would be pretty darn cool to be able to play a video game with quality motion-controlled lightsaber combat.

I dont want the game but I did buy the R2-D2 bundle : )

I also know 5 of my other m8's that bought the budle too.

They bundle is what is going to save this game.

Rainstorm814627d ago

Yes its a must have for any Star Wars fan..... the R2-D2 bundle will definitely help...

i wish they sold it without kinect or the star wars game, if so my 360 wouldve been replaced already

Glad we finally get a legit preview. The games controls have seemingly gotten 100% better since E3. It's going to be a great selling game and I think that scares some of the fanboys here. There worst nightmare is Kinect games selling well.

Notice how PS3 fans stayed out of the Kinect Sports, Dance Central article that pointed out how well those games sold respectively? Ya..

dead_eye4627d ago

Sales are nothing. And from that preview it sounds like the game is gonna be shit. I said it on another article that had game play of it and the game looks very static. The preview confirms that. No walking only lunging. Sounds lame. The use of force powers does sound really good with kinect. Maybe should stick with the controller and have kinect just for force powers and moving.

DigitalRaptor4627d ago

Legit? Why because someone happens to be saying something positive about it?

Raven for every logical point you make, you just take yourself down a few notches. Sales? you think you can back up an argument about quality with sales, when Kinect is involved. My word.

The only emotion fanboys will be showing about Kinect games selling well, especially the casual ones, is humour. What about the actual fairly praised core Kinect games such as Child of Eden. Are PS3 fans scared of its sales? Hmmm....

The game look garbage, based on everything that we've seen and been told so far. As I've said before The Force Unleashed was a pretty damn good game. Compared to this, it's a piece of crap.

As much as i like starwars. This game looks terrible with kinect. Cant wait for The Old Republic which should be a blast to play.

Star wars fans are sheep. I dropped a deuce that is the spitting image of Vader, $50 is all I'm asking for.

One of the worst things to happen to Star Wars was it being exclusive to Kinect when PS Move could have been a better version because of "buttons" per Kevin with better tracking. And the controller looking like a light saber hilt. Or, had an actual light saber game similar to the dojo in Vader Immortal.

But the miming lies on the Microsoft E3 stage was icing on the cake of this garage. Wasn't even live gameplay. Just bad acting. Nothing ground breaking about this travesty.

Star Wars is Best Suited for AA Gaming, Not AAA

WTMG's Leo Faria: "This piece wasn’t meant to say that Star Wars‘ gaming future is ruined forever, nor that there isn’t a chance for a good AAA Star Wars game to come out in the near future. I need to reiterate that, yes, I’m looking forward to Jedi Fallen Order. Then again, as a massive Star Wars fan, like most of you I miss the days when we would get loads of titles a year, each one focused on one specific feature of the franchise. I’d rather have a slew of smaller Star Wars games being released every year, some good and some not as good, than one big generic title being released every two years. These are always at the risk of being criticized due to typical AAA practices like expensive season passes, cut content, or microtransactions. Had Disney allowed for anyone, especially mid-range developers and publishers, to bring their creative and risk-free ideas to life, I’m sure fans would have rejoiced. And Disney’s pockets would most certainly fill up faster than nowadays."

The Wiseau Awards - Kinect Star Wars (Xbox 360)

WTMG's Leo Faria: "Kinect Star Wars gave me the opportunity to witness Darth Vader and the Emperor dancing to Deadmau5's "Ghosts n' Stuff" like a couple of teenage ravers on ecstasy. That's the best thing I never thought I'd ever see in my life."
