Madden 2012 Demo Impression

When you hear the words “milked franchise” Madden often comes to mind. The reason being is there are hardly any changes with the newest iteration, other than some slight improvements here and there and an updated roster. This Madden is almost the exact same as last years one. How is it a game that hardly changes every year still manages to sell at least 100k units

LOL at this this guy, he said at "least 100k units." If you're going to write previews and such, do some homework and get some statistics. Does he not know that (american) football is the highest grossing sport in the United States? Or that Madden sells better than probably every game in his entire library (except for COD)?

Why write a preview of a demo if all it's actually going to be is a rant?

right off the bat i cna say the graphics are the same,theres almost no feeling to the tackles, they said there would be new collisions and imo didn't seem that way it felt like madden11 but slower and softer really.

played the demo and nothing really different--not that i expected anything different.
i use to be big into sport games but they are all the same year in and year out.

devs should really create sport games every other year and have small $15 (possibly) dlc during the 'off year'.
i think that's a pretty good idea.

great idea i was thinking create a sports game then release the roster updates up until the end of the eason. After that release add ons like old AFL teams to use offline, or oline if approved, and a roster update, years worth on the day madden rekleases, for some $5 since people who buy madden end up buying something like this anyway. anything to at least make the franchise more bearable.

Btw isn't this EAs last year with the rigts?

Don't like the demo. I actually liked the NCAA demo. Graphics are mediocre at best. The new kicking meter is terrible. 1 year in between games isn't nearly enough. Nothing changes. Actually I think they're getting worse. Look at the metacritic scores. Madden hasn't had 90 scores since Madden 05. Hmm wonder why that was? Maybe because they had competition?

Exactly. Why strive to be the best, when you're already "the best" by default because you're the only NFL game in town.

I used to buy the game every other year, but I think I'm done with that. No more NFL games for me until there is some competition.

Tried the demo tonight and this is garbage compared to NCAA 12. Looks like the college title is now the showcase game.

That's what I thought. Just complete garbage. Unfortunately I'm a huge NFL fan so I always ending up getting madden for my NFL fix but the games are so crappy. Hasn't been good since Madden 05.

ncaa 12 is just like the old madden games and its gameplay is for noobs, probably why you like it... madden 12 deff feels more realistic and sim like this year... stick the Final fantasy games you probably play

Anybody remember when they had stuff like Owners Mode where you could price hot dogs and customize stadiums. You could save in game and come back and play it later. They had Madden cards. Why isn't all this still in the game? The games now are so watered down feature wise. This gen of football has been nothing but disappointing. Hopefully pS4/ xbox 720 bring back all th good old features and we will have our old "good" Madden games.

the game is totally diff this year... every year i get pissed cause it sucks. I really enjoyed it, tho it annoys me that its so hard to do hot routes for players, u cant just hit a couple buttons n switch there routes, u gotta hit like R3 and go thru a bunch of crap. Other then that, the tackling is new and awesome, the graphics are good of course, but not ps3 amazing looking haha. Im deff buying it on day 1. Another really stupid thing, and i notice this every year is that the guys on the sideline, some of them have the same numbered jerseys lmao, game designers are so lazy. Seriously, this is the best madden in a while... but i also dont know why there was no commentary in the demo???
