"My vision is blurred; my body sleep deprived; my computer full of stickers I never even noticed before; my voice completely lost. Another year, another QuakeCon has come and gone.
"Saturdays and Sundays of the event are typically very low-key, and as a result, we’ve combined both days into one final wrap-up.
"OXCGN’s first year on-site at QuakeCon was a great one, and we’re aiming to continue being there in years to come.
Watch the three-part clip below via YouTube where Game Director Todd Howard guides viewers through the Skyrim demo shown behind closed doors at E3 and most recently to fans at QuakeCon and PAX Prime.
XMNR: Hi-Rez Studios has kept busy the past month with a trip to Quakecon to show off Tribes: Ascend publicly for the first time and then a trip to Germany for Gamescom to give SMITE its first demo to the press and give more players hands on time with Tribes: Ascend. We caught up with Hi-Rez COO Todd Harris in between conventions as the studio gets ready for the PAX Prime convention in Seattle, Washington this weekend to talk about what they've learned from the public playtests of Tribes: Ascend, changes in the gameplay so far, a clarification on how the loadout system works and what goodies Global Agenda players can get by visiting the studio’s PAX booth.

"QuakeCon 2011 concluded just over a week ago, and it was definitely one of the better years in the history of the event.
"AT&T pulled through this year, offering excellent internet connectivity and over five times the bandwidth of previous years.
"Unfortunately, nothing is without drawbacks; the result of this was that LAN networking was restricted to anyone on the same network switch as yourself, which means you could only play LAN games with the people at your table.
"The internet may be good, but this was an absolute disappointment. It’s taking the LAN out of LAN party."
Interesting assessment of the Quakecon. Not for me (especially since it is in another country :) )
It seems more geared toward a certain PC crowd, whereas I like events that are geared toward gaming in general, especially consoles and many different publishers.
Yeah these events seem to take a lot out of people...they need to plan an extra several days just to get the images swimming around their brains out and some rest!
