David Hayter talks about Solid Snake, the Metal Gear movie, Uncharted and throwing up

Interesting thing about Rising. He said he is not allowed to talk about it. This means that he knows something about it, he has been contacted by Kojima Productions, so Snake MUST be in Rising in some form or another. I hope everything is revealed at TGS! Can't wait.

Having snake in Raising even for a Cameo or for future DLC is the best marketing move they can make for this game. Snake will guarantee sales for true MGS fans.

Hmmm indeed, interesting about not talking about Rising. It means Snake is in the game, which also means that he speaks. Not only that but it means that he speaks new dialogue, which means that it takes place during or before MGS4, which in turn means that the events do not actually take place in MGS4, which means that the monkey that drinks soda is from the monkey family from Halo 3, which means Halo 4 will reveal that Raiden is a raging fanny bandit.

I found an article on it. It basically said that he felt that because Snake had killed millions of people, he should not be afraid to kill himself. Then I read a convincing argument that said that japanese culture sees suicide as a way of redemption or restoring honor. As good of a point as that is, I dont not consider MGS to be japanese in any way. The gritty atmosphere, war themes, and lack of cat ears makes this an American game targeted at american people. In America, people dont regard suicide as redeemable. No one wanted to see Snake die, especially not in such a weak minded way. Im glad Snake got the ending he deserved and Hayter needs to just stick to his job description. Voice actors are paid to read scripts, not give opinions.

l agree with Hayter on that, the ending could have been a little bit different. But l also have to admit that killing other people must be way more easier than killing yourself. And Snake was actually about to do that at the end, but -in spoilerless terms- he was interrupted. l think what Hayter meant was that Snake would not p#ssy out in a situation like that, given the fact that he had faced death countless times throughout the series. But taking your own life with your own hands must be a whole different level, l think. And the guy is the one who knows more than any of us about Snake, actaully, he "is" the Solid Snake. He voiced thousands of lines some of which we probably did not even hear. So l wouldn't say he is not the right person to judge the scenario, hell, if he's not allowed to give his opinions l say no one else can.

David was the scriptwriter for the X-men movie. He was also a co-writer for the Watchmen movie. Any input from someone with his experience is very valuable and should not be dismissed.

You`re a fool and you probably know it. Why the hell wouldn`t Japanese people love Metal Gear Solid? Instead it should be western people with the lack of understanding the depth in MGS who don`t like this series.
Japanese games/movies got more than cat-ears.

So he was the one calling up Nathan Fillion to tell his entire persona was used in Uncharted...Nathan Fillion said that 'someone called him up to tell him that his persona was used in Uncharted' during an interview at the pre-show of the GTTV Video Game Awards 2010. Always wondered who 'this friend' was, now i know. David Hayter and Nathan Fillion are actually friends, cool.

That would be quite different, as we don't really know an awful lot about Liquid's background from a gameplay point of view.

He was in the SAS and all sorts, could have been interesting.

He is my favourite MGS character. It would have been fun to play as Liquid and Solidus.

However, I fear that the more games that are coming out after MGS4 the more the series and it's plot will suffer.
