The BAFTA Award-winning circuit and street racing game Race Driver GRID will be available for a one-time special offer of £2.99 ($4.99 / €4.49) from Steam later today, for a total of three days, with all profits from sales going to industry-supported charities and good causes, Codemasters announced today.

The 2008 game is a change of direction and a new name for the previously TOCA and then Race Driver series, which then becomes Grid. From touring cars to a full-blown story mode with cutscenes for a racing game, the series has gone places.

This game has the best drift mode ever! Its great visceral fun.
I still remember how, at the beginning of the game, you watch this cutscene where you zoom into Earth and then all the way into a track and its looks awesome- then all of a sudden you think you're watching a cutscene but its all in-game.

The damage modelling is brilliant- the races absolutely brutal, the drifting sublime, the cars brilliant, the game- underrated and amazing.
I loved this game when i had a PS3 and have thought about buying it several times for xbox, but have the servers being taken down soon (i could swear i read an article on it the other week) if i am wrong then this is a fantastic deal
you should owe it to yourselves and buy this game now that its that cheap. its a great game, with or without online.
Traded in a while ago and bought other racing games but none feel like GRID.Bought it again a couple of months ago.The thing about GRID is that the single play is soooo great i dont miss the online.Best replay cam ive ever seen,that alone is worth the price.
