PS4: 10 Franchises We Would Like To See Return

With Nintendo now promoting the Wii U, it’s only a matter of time before Microsoft and Sony get their act together and release their new hardware. Whilst the Xbox brand is comparatively new, Sony systems have had a wealth of different franchises grace their pasts, presents and (hopefully) futures. In the rush of new software that will accompany the PS4, here’s a list of ten franchises we hope will make a return."

But I definitely see sony waiting to release a new system the longest. Have they even become profitable this generation? I know Microsoft finally became profitable a couple years ago. I really have a tough time seeing Sony justifying a new generation until they absolutely have to to stay competitive.

Yes, I agree. But he put one of my favorite RPGs of all time in the list, Dark Chronicle. It still beats me how such a beautiful game with so many details could run at 60 frames. Just amazing!

sony doesn't own kojima and besides he is going multiplatform now, why else do you think fox engine is also on 360. insomniac games has also gone multi. the extra money is very tempting. mgs5 will be on pc :,) your linup seems good but you forgot jak and daxter. i know Microsoft has lionhead working in a project for their next gen console as well as crytek working on timesplitters 4 which is supposedly exclusive to nextbox, halo 4 might also come out on the nextbox because i didn't notice an xbox 360 insignia at the end of the CGI demo at e3 2011. epic is also making samaritan into a full game for the next xbox. it will be intersting to see what both consoles come up with but they will obviously squash wii u in raw power.

your list is also based on predictions so whats your point ? and microsoft has indeed seduced crytek and epic games(with money of course)its the truth.

just hope the next consoles don't have overheating issues ms might want to get a competent company such as intel to work on the consoles thermal design

From this list the only one I would get day 1 no brain was Legend of Dragoon it's one of my all time favorite JRPG and I cant understand why SONY didn't release it yet on PSN the fans ask for it for years now, I think that this amazing game is underrated show some interest SONY I want LoD on PSN I want a sequel I would love also to see a remake this game is too good to forgotten like this.

It's unbelievable that there is more talk about a next gen console that hasn't even been mentioned by Sony, than the other console that was actually announced during E3 and that is actually coming on 2012.

What is worse though, is that people actually believe that the PS4 has a possibility of releasing on 2012, even though they know that PS Vita is coming soon, and if the PS3 were to released on 2012 it would have already been announced

I want a new Rollcage, wipeout has prooved itself as a worthy arcade racing game - it should move over and let Rollcage's full potential take off.

And they should persuade Mistwalker to make an RPG exclusive (the return of good Final Fantasy). They don't have internal competition to worry about considering Square Enix are multiplat now - and a Mistwalker game intending to be like FF would attract the same fanbase - it would be a smart business move. Lost Odyssey was great but I don't think they got the response in sales on the 360 that they deserved. It was also missing something, somewhere...

I want Dark Cloud 3 more than any of the games on the list. I loved DaRK Cloud 2. I just love time travel for some reason. Id much rather have more Dark Clouds than White Knight Chronicles. I liked WKC but I definitely expected more from level-5 and was dissapointed by it. It was just a mediocre game
