PS4: 10 Franchises We Would Like To See Return

GB: "It’s no secret that a new console generation is on the horizon. With Nintendo now promoting the Wii U, it’s only a matter of time before Microsoft and Sony get their act together and release their new hardware. Whilst the Xbox brand is comparatively new, Sony systems have had a wealth of different franchises grace their pasts, presents and (hopefully) futures. In the rush of new software that will accompany the PS4, here’s a list of ten franchises we hope will make a return."

I don't mind top ten lists. I do, however, when they're so incredibly lazily written like this garbage.

Abash4672d ago

I'd rather see a new MediEvil game on PSVita/PS3

X-DominusRebellis-X4672d ago

I'd like to see MediEvil also. I'd also love to see a new Dino Crisis, Parasite Eve, Clock Tower, Siren, Crash Bandicoot, Nightmare Creatures, Dracula, Jade Cocoon, Dark Cloud, and let's not forget TENCHU !!!!

CommonSense4672d ago (Edited 4672d ago )

I'd like to see a new Jumping Flash. :-P

anyone remember Kileak?

But I definitely see sony waiting to release a new system the longest. Have they even become profitable this generation? I know Microsoft finally became profitable a couple years ago. I really have a tough time seeing Sony justifying a new generation until they absolutely have to to stay competitive.

Bonobo123454672d ago

lol jumping flash 2!!!

would be a day 1 for me.

jeseth4672d ago

MediEvil for sure. Same with Klonoa and Dark Cloud.

Games not on this list I'd love to see revived:

Mark of the Kri/Rise of the Kasai
Maximo
D
Champions of Norrath
Crash Bandicoot
Parasite Eve

Phaqutomb4672d ago

I would like to see a new King's Field. Imo it was the best first person rpg

Jak & Dax and Kingdom Hearts will do it for me.

SuperBeast8114672d ago

hell to the yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shikoro4672d ago

Yes, I agree. But he put one of my favorite RPGs of all time in the list, Dark Chronicle. It still beats me how such a beautiful game with so many details could run at 60 frames. Just amazing!

Heartnet4672d ago

White Knight Chronicles was the games succesor.. made by same people and has alot of same features hehe

I must agree though that game rocked! 4th Fav Game on Ps2 xD

Heartnet4672d ago

firemassacre4672d ago (Edited 4672d ago )

day 1 on ps4

1.uncharted
2.gran turismo
3.littlebigplanet.
4.infamous
5.killzone
6.resistance
7.metal gear solid
8.ratchet and clank
9. god of war
10.motorstorm.

this could easily be a top 20 list because sony has so much first party/second party games.

qwertyz4672d ago (Edited 4672d ago )

sony doesn't own kojima and besides he is going multiplatform now, why else do you think fox engine is also on 360. insomniac games has also gone multi. the extra money is very tempting. mgs5 will be on pc :,) your linup seems good but you forgot jak and daxter. i know Microsoft has lionhead working in a project for their next gen console as well as crytek working on timesplitters 4 which is supposedly exclusive to nextbox, halo 4 might also come out on the nextbox because i didn't notice an xbox 360 insignia at the end of the CGI demo at e3 2011. epic is also making samaritan into a full game for the next xbox. it will be intersting to see what both consoles come up with but they will obviously squash wii u in raw power.

your list is also based on predictions so whats your point ? and microsoft has indeed seduced crytek and epic games(with money of course)its the truth.

just hope the next consoles don't have overheating issues ms might want to get a competent company such as intel to work on the consoles thermal design

firemassacre4672d ago

can you give me the winning lottery numbers since you can predict the future.

Thepro3184672d ago

Its about what franchise you want see return on PS4. Its not about exclusive or not, so nothing wrong asking for MGS5 for PS4

Bonobo123454672d ago

lol lets hope they competently build the 720 and take their time making sure they don't stick the hard drive over the main airway.

I would like Onimusha to make a return, sooner rather than later.

KMCROC4672d ago

Would it not be considered Milking , if any of these games were to make a appearance on PS4.

SuperBeast8114672d ago

Day 1? lol sounds cool in theory but im not made of money bro lol thats like 2yrs worth of exclusives right there lol

hamburger1234672d ago (Edited 4672d ago )

MrSpace4672d ago

Nicaragua4672d ago

Mugen Souls Retro Review – Sexy Demon Space Adventure

Gary Green said: We have a juxtaposition of 2D and 3D visuals, flashy turn-based combat, quirky anime characters with cheeky dialogue with plenty of partial nudity; Yes, this is a Compile Heart JRPG. Whilst the engine is borrowed from Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2, Mugen Souls is more of a Disgaea spin-off. It’s not a strategy RPG as such, it merely sits within Disgaea’s ever-expanding universe (Multiverse? Netherverse? Your guess is as good as mine). You won’t find cameos though, since Mugen Souls is a franchise which aims to stand on its own two feet.

Looking Back At 2008, An Unbelievably Incredible Year Of Video Game Releases

Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."

CrimsonWing692h ago

I don’t think anything can compare to 2023

lucasnooker2h ago

1998 - the best year in gaming! Metal gear solid, crash bandicoot 3, medievil, half life, ocarina of time, thief, tenchu, resident evil 2, Spyro, tomb raider 3, oddworld abes exodus, banjo kazooie.

It was a different breed of a gaming era. You’ll never understand what it was like back then. The aura of gaming, it was different!

KyRo2h ago(Edited 2h ago)

I second this. Gaming was a lot more varied and fun than it is today. I'm 35 so getting on compared to some here but I got to see all the changes from NES up to now but I've never felt so disappointed in any generation than I have this current gen. I was expecting more from this generation rather than prettier versions of games that came before it. Game mechanics have become so refined that alot of games feel the same and has done for a while now.

Maybe it's time to have a break for a while. I love gaming but I don't feel I get much fun in the traditional sense out of it anymore.

CrimsonWing692h ago(Edited 2h ago)

Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2, Abe’s Exodus, and Ocarina of Time are the only things from that list that I liked.

Here’s the 2023 game releases that I personally liked… and big releases that I didn’t care for:

- Dead Space Remake
- Wo Long Dynatsy
- Resident Evil 4 Remake
- Diablo 4
- Fire Emblem Engage
- Hogwarts Legcay
- Street Fighter 6
- Hi-Fi Rush
- Like a Dragon: Ishin
- Octopath Traveler 2
- Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters
- Final Fanatsy XVI (actually ended up not liking this, but it was still a big deal release)
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
- Lies of P
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Starfield (Ended up hating this one, but big release)
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder
- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (I’m an old-school Zelda fan, but didn’t really enjoy this game)
- Alan Wake 2

I mean, honestly I’ve never seen a year of major IP releases like that, ever.

6 Fun Games Where You Actually Play As The Bad Guy

While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.

Profchaos8h ago

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Tacoboto7h ago

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

banger887h ago

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).
