Second Chances: Five Games That Deserve Another Look

Warp Zoned Writes:

"Gaming is a time-consuming hobby. Unlike music or movies, which require a minimal investment, video games can be lengthy and involved affairs. As such, it’s much easier to miss out on really good games that come and go without much notice. Perhaps it’s because of a bad release date, or maybe it just didn’t get heavy distribution or advertising. Hell, maybe it doesn’t have a good Metacritic score, or it was completely ignored on gaming message boards. Regardless of the reason why, some games just don’t make it, and that’s a shame. That’s why we’re here, though – to pick out some unheralded gems and give them the attention they so richly deserve. They might not be able to compete with the heaviest of hitters, the so-called “AAA” games that sell millions, but they present entertaining gaming experiences all the same."

Singularity is absolutely on my to-do list, but I'm hesitant about Saboteur.

Played DJ Hero, really fun game.

mandf4677d ago (Edited 4677d ago )

Saboteur was good but Singilarity wasn't that great. Try Sabatuer first you won't be disappointed. Singularity was as generic as they come.

Just playing through Saboteur now, fantastic game. Reminds me of the old GTAs but set in WW2. Forgot how much fun killing Nazis was.

kma2k4677d ago

Alpha Protocol & The Sabatuer are honestly both on my top 15 games of this generation. I still dont understand all the hate towards Alpha Protocol & I just overlooked the sabateur. Both games were great & alot of fun.

Singularity was ok, it was fun....estenially it was a recreation of the bioshock formula, but still a fun game all & all.

Are the glitches on Alpha Protocol as bad as i've heard? I've seen Obsidians 'work' before and so it put me off. However HMV have it for £5 at the minute, and I'm debating whether to get it

BlackTar1874677d ago

The gltiches are Awful but the game is still a whole lot of fun

Dark_Overlord4677d ago

There are 2 things that really annoy me in games, online LAG and glitches. I won't touch any game anymore that is riddled with either.

kma2k4677d ago

I cant comment on anything to do with online since i stuck to SP only. I do not remember glitches in Alpha Protocol. The biggest complaint i remember hearing about in reviews was people saying how aiming dosent work, but the problem they didnt realise is this game is a 3rd person rpg first, your characters aim sucks ass in the begginging, you have to level things up to become a good shot. The game was serisouly a lot of fun!

Pintheshadows4677d ago

I didn't find Alpha Protocol as glitchy as others made out. I could of been lucky though. I enjoyed Singularity as It felt like an old school Raven PC game and the Saboteur was enjoyable as well.

EA Sends Classic Titles To Steam

This is a nice collection of classic. EA has opened its vaults and released a series of classic PC games to Steam for the first time ever.

Garethvk48d ago

I wish we had a new Command and Conquer.

Vits48d ago

f you haven't already, consider getting 8-Bit Armies or the new 9-Bit Armies. They're made by some of the same folks from the older C&C, with very similar mechanics; it's just the aesthetics that are completely different.

TheColbertinator48d ago

C&C Red Alert 3 and The Saboteur were two different yet completely unforgettable games to me from a better era of EA.

SheenuTheLegend62d ago

all the games in the above list are bang on. this is the only reason we need backwards compatibility and physical presense of games for the upcoming future, no matter what.

Yi-Long63d ago

Honorable mention to the excellent Driveclub, one of the best racing games of all-time and one of my favourite games ever.

melons63d ago

yes! incredible rain effects; so good to drive along in rain with your Spotify playlist blaring

Skuletor62d ago

I really wanted a MotorStorm using the same engine, Driveclub is easily one of the best looking games on PS4 and I'm surprised they didn't even give it a PS4 Pro patch.

ravens5262d ago

Yes indeed. May just install it on my PS5. You know, physical copy and all.

monkey60262d ago

I adored Driveclub and the Bike expansion. I also loved Motorstorm. Evolution shutting down was a crime

Outrun Online Arcade, Sega Rally Online Arcade, After Burner Climax... all good stuff. I keep my 360 hooked up to play these as well as the TMNT games that were also delisted.

Skuletor62d ago

Terry_B62d ago (Edited 62d ago )
