Valkyria Chronicles is totaly beast.

first time i've played it i was like meh, but when the concept and the gameplay are assimilated it's an awesome game.

Call of Duty......is one of the games that take attention away from other games that deserve attention...because thats all alot of people play, just a few games instead of finding out about these other great games out there on all consoles, new stuff instead of playing the same ol thing.

I have to agree. I find myself playing cod when I'd like to play other games. Still got plenty of games I haven't finished. Need to try and avoid the temptation to buy it cheap the launch week.

Of the two NT games on here I'd go for HS WAY,WAY above Enslaved. Enslaved is a pretty game with some great voice acting and a decent script but as for it's platforming(rubbish)and combat(crap)you could totally leave them out and it would take literally ZERO from the experience because the game holds your hand more than an infant school road patrol. NT got everything right about things like character progression and even pacing but just forgot to put any actual game in it!

That some sites and some people think of it as some kind of lost gem while knocking HS(infinitely better as a GAME) for being a little short is amazing to me. Almost as amazing as the fact Capcom chose a team not known for amazing game play to reboot DMC, a series BUILT on outrageous and slick game play.

The other picks(apart from DMC4-who missed that that cared about it-and it was the worst since DMC2 anyway)are OK though with HS, VC and Folklore all brilliant games and folklore is TOTALLY over,looked. I'd give them all a trophy patch ,and a coupla ads and we'd see a lot of people raving about all three games. Then again, I also think that adding Move controls alongside the normal control patch for Lair, trophies and a mini map would allow Lair to be a bit of a cult hit these days. It stands up visually.

Get rid of DMC4 and Enslaved on this list seeing as they aren't PS3 exclusives and instead replace them with the Motorstorm series (EXTREMELY underrated) and 3d Dot Game Heroes.

i hear what you're saying but this isnt an "exclusives" list. Not to mention that it is this persons opinion which can differ from yours. It is nice they throw some multi's in there as it breaks up the whole exclusive this and that.

If you have a ps3 then there are loads of great "games" to be played on it regardless of stature.

Even still. MotorStorm and 3D Dot Heroes are much better games than DMC4 and Enslaved. All four games are somewhat overlooked.

Completed yakuza 3 and 4 but yeah, 3d dot game heros was the sh/t. I saved the pricess on my second play through but i effed up one of the items. One item can only be acquired by visiting a certain hut after each sage was found.....think i knew that sh/t. Pissed.. My sword filled the screen though. Beastly, felt like i was trolling every time i swung it

Supercar challenge is also good, but it's basically the same game as Ferrari challenge, with a few different cars.

I have played all of those games, except DMC4. I found Valkyria Chronicles too challenging and I traded it in :( I also got rid of Folklore...which I regret! I loved using the sixaxis to pull souls! I don't think I even completed it...

Folklore was too emo for my taste. I found the parts where Ellen was whinning about how badly she's missing her mommie to be unbearable, and there were lots of those momments. Maybe it's me, but I find it hard to relate to some 14 year old girl crying like a bitch while crying to save the world the faeries or some bullshit like that.

Heavenly Sword was cool though.

A console with 50+ million in sales and a game that is one of the best franchises on PS3 in Killzone 2-3 only sells 4+ million COMBINED is just INSANE!!!

Yes...the games are not perfect but NO GAME IS PERFECT. It's a crime of some sort that these games have struggle so much. If Killzone was on 360, the sales would be in the 10 million range easy and Guerrilla would be treated like gaming royalty.

I tell you what...if people don't support games like Killzone, whose budget must be astronomical, especially KZ2 that took 5 years to make, then they will stop making them.

PS3 fanbase is diverse, not all buy the same stuff.

and 1.5 million in sales is not bad, it translates to 90 million $, about 70 million of it goes to Sony not bad for a game that cost 30 million $, that's over 100% profit.

I bought Killzone 2 and thought it was good, not great. I got tired of the online play faster than I got tired of Modern Warfare, which is saying something. After that, I had no interest in Killzone 3, or Modern Warfare 2 for that matter. I like games that do something different other than look great, which KZ2 and KZ3 both admittedly do. For single player FPS action, I like Resistance:Fall of Man better, along with Portal 1 & 2, Bioshock, and even Borderlands. For multiplayer it's MAG all the way for me. I don't care what 360 players buy, and they shouldn't care what I buy. If Guerilla wants to be treated like gaming royalty, then they should do something innovative. Graphics are the icing, not the cake.

Killzone has definitely got something good about it... but it also has a feeling of something missing as well though...
It is definitely a good game and deserves more attention, but I think they need to adapt it and make it something more (and I DON'T mean auto-aim, or other noobish things).
Not sure what is lacking, but I think they perhaps need to get creative with the next installation and surprise people.

I totally agree. I think KZ characters lack depth (no sense of history or personal cause). Story context lacks fine details of who, what, where & why, which give no substance to reason. Also, no surprise. Major failing. WW1 & 2 (probably 3 also LoL) have incredible stories of peoples reasons for fighting for their causes even in the face of defeat..

no I dont think it would sell not 10 million on 360, maybe 5-6 million for both combined if lucky. Probably worse than on ps3 I think.

360 people buy halo, cod and a little bit of most FPS. I dont think there is any room for Killzone to sell more on 360 than it does on ps3. Sony also puts out alot of FPS that compete with killzone as well.

I rented KZ2, it was ok but I have no desire to play KZ3 on the ps3 or 360.

I thought the story was weak and cheesy. I found it stupid that they named him monkey and tried everything in there power to make him resemble a monkeyish man. Everything from his stupid stance to that dumbass belt he woree to make it look like a tail. Lets not even mention that dumbass hoverboard u only use 3 times in the whole game. Lets not forget that lameass staff he used that just so happens to shoot plasma balls out of it even though the end of it is blunt. Was a chore to play.

Everyone should try to find 3D Dot Game Heroes (from Fromsoftware),..

It launched at 40 usd, so it is probably really cheap nowadays.. It is an incredible little title, that pays homage to Zelda,.. (I think puzzles and dungeons actually surpass SNES Zelda) It is incredibly designed and fun game,.. (gets pretty challenging as well) I totally love this game,.. fromsoftware knows how gameplay elements should be designed,.. It is incredible,..

Got 3D Dot Game Heroes for my birthday and started playing it yesterday, absolutely love it so far, the game is full of old school charm and the soundtrack is just awesome :) definitely a breath of fresh air and everything zinkabassy has said.

From have been great this generation and the amount of wit in a game written off as a LTTP clone was just mindblowing. there were touches of TONS of 2D Metroidvania games(and a ton of others)in there as well as the obvious homage and love for Zelda. It's a joy to play first time round and the NG+ and Spelunker(another ref)modes upped the challenge to old school levels too.

Definitely among the best value games made this generation and so unique for it's time that it became a must play for anyone remotely interested in retro gaming OR Zelda or 2D gaming mechanics. I still find myself going back to Dotnia now and again if only to marvel at the universes most hideous game world map!!! Great little game, though, and I still get upset everytime Bluesy gets turned back into a slime by the mirror of truth!

Should've mentioned Siren: Bloodcurse.

It' the only horror game that actually scared me. See with other horror games they rely heavily on scripting and spawning frights, so it can get predictable when things are going happen.

Unlike Siren, the enemies are already in the map and wander around trying to find you. So when they spot you is never predictable and there is no escape until you find a hiding spot or weapon.

Brilliant, we need a sequel now.

i pussied out from finishing that game. I thought it couldnt get any worse than being the little girl with no weapon to defend herself but it did. Sometimes im a sucker for collecting everything to ocd-like levels. The part when your in the house with narrow passages and sliding doors with the zombie dude with the gun kept me coming back. I think there was a clock puzzle or locked cupboard of some sorts. I wanted to know what was inside badly. That game was trippy

Yeah, and the sight jacking makes for some mind bending moments too-like the first time you realise the bloody things are on the cieling aftger it all just looked wrong!! Very nderrated game and mor survival horror than anything else available right now on PS360. Hoping Amy does the same for PSN/Live and PC very soon too-differently, naturally, but it does look more survival that combat orientated so far and having the little girl's pulse in your controller should be an amazing indicator of what's coming as well as keeping us on edge. some amazing mechanics at work from what I've seen and all the more amazing that it's DL only and episodic. Just as Siren:BC started-another game needing a trophy patch for mre people to play it. Sony should have a team allocated JUST to doing tjhis for the better older games. Ask tjhe likes of konami and Sega if they're OK with it, or for a list of what trophies they'd like put in and get on with it-a lot of people would pay a pound or two for a downloadable trophy patch and the same would go for Japanese language games with a paid for sybs patch if made available as DL content. Maybe that way we could get effing Kenzan!

Maybe a "forgotten gems" series from PS3's early days with all the games DLC on it, trophies and, where possible Move support added in-got to be soe way of maximising older, great games.

Folklore and Valkyria Chronicles definitely are overlooked. I never got far into Folklore but loved its art direction and music, and VC has been an on-again off-again game for me for 2 years now. It's fantastic, but I can only take so much strategy at a time. I only have a few chapters left, sadly I've long since been spoiled.

Id say if they came out now without trophies that would be the case, but considering none of the games had trophies at that period of time its not wut held em back. The magority of people dont like branching off and trying new things. Kinda like sacred 2, was a great game and it sunk in sales.

Yakuza, Yakuza, Yakuza.

Granted they sell, but the vast majority of sales come from the east. The west REALLY needs to check 'em out. Yakuza 4 is gold and has outperformed other 2011 console exclusives like Motorstorm, Socom, DCU, WhiteKnightChronicles 2...yet no one on my friends' list plays it besides me, lol. So unique, so good. Listen to Yahtzee and buy it.

I agree, Yakuza 3 was my favourite game of last year. I put it in recently and it made me realise that Yakuza 4 is a great improvement. Yakuza 4 is one hell of a drug. Fight maker and ping pong is great, Akiyama is fun to play as with his kicks (Saejima has the brutal heat actions). I have put 65 hours in Yakuza 4, 83 % complete in game (not in trophies XD).

I wish Playstation owners stop crying about Final Fantasy Versus XIII and get Yakuza instead. It's a man's game!!! You can check my review for both Yakuza 3 and 4 on here.

@Vortex3D, I think the combat gets deep once you level your character, it is a breath of fresh air in Yakuza 4. The story battles are pretty easy no matter what difficulty but once you face Komaki and Amon or have a fight in the Ultimate Skill mode you have to think of strategies against opponents. Yakuza 3 was my first Yakuza game I played. FF XIII was alright, I thought the characters were boring but I liked the battle system (because I didn't use auto battle), the soundtrack for FF XIII was great.

It's always interesting how much FF fans want to believe the next FF vs XIII is going to be incredible with limited info. FF XIII was the same. Personally I like it but a lot of fans didn't.

Yakuza has very interesting storyline but the combat kind of weak. Each fight is almost the same. Punch, kick or smash the random enemies the same way every time.

I'd like to buy Heavenly Sword but all my money is spent on PlayStation Vita, Twisted Metal and Uncharted 3 pre orders.

The Sly Collection was overlooked but I bought it day 1 because it's the best trilogy of PS2 platfromers remastered in HD with 3 platinum trophies, it's the best value of any PS3 game.

$40 per game that's $160 total.

Folklore was amazing, I loved the crazy world. Using enemies' abilities after capturing their soles reminded me of Pokémon, and it had a creative way of using the SIXAXIS sensors.

I love and play 3 out of 5 of those games, Folklore, Valkyria and Devil May Cry 4.

I recommend Valkyria to everyone, is one of the best Tactical JRPG around.

Strangely I do overlook Heavenly Sword and Enslaved.

I agree with all of em except enslaved. I rented it and thought it was absolute trash. Its pretty much a uncharted wannabe but comes nowhere near anything decent. Unforgivingly bad gameplay and a poor cheesy story.

Enslaved is just so, so, so good. The controls can be clunky but the narrative and the voice acting play out so perfectly and it makes you feel like you know the characters unlike any game I've ever played. Seriously, if you can deal with the average gameplay pick it up just to experience the story. $20 new is a steal.

There are Three games on that list that are genuinely over looked: Valkyria Chronicles, Folklore (one of my personal faves), Enslaved.

Two of the other three sold into the millions.
