Once Battlefield 3 hits in October it's game over. then on top of that you got Uncharted 3.

But it's no reason to push Skyrim back cause Skyrim can hold it's own, only push it back if it's not finished with quality as we don't need a rush job.

SR3 if it is any where near GTA4 quality it will have great sales over a long period of time so pushing it back won't change anything.

tablav4676d ago

I don't agree.

Battlefield: Shooter
Uncharted: Action
Skyrim: RPG
Saints Row: Sandbox

I don't think they'll stop each other from selling. Let's also not forget that people will pick these games up themselves, but the whole point of releasing in November is to encourage people to buy as Xmas gifts.

Besides, Pachter has rarely predicted anything with any great accuracy, so I'll stay optimistic.

Saladfax4676d ago

@tablav

While the genres are very different, and they won't be competing upon any large scale, there will be many individuals who will be making the hard choice of what to wait on.

Plus I kind of like the sound of Skyrim being given more time for bug fixing. I bloody-well want that game but find myself saddened each time a Bethesda game is released with the usual level of bugs out the ass.

Heck, the Unofficial Oblivion Patch, made by the community, managed to fix another 1800 bugs left behind after Bethesda stopped patching it.

Merivigian4676d ago

I guess you forgot about Skyrim and Arkham City. To be honest I'm not buying either Battlefield 3 or Uncharted 3, they just don't appeal to me.

BeOneWithTheGun4676d ago

I will be soooooooooo pissed if skyrim gets delayed. It is hands down my most anticipated game ever.

Tr10wn4669d ago

I want Skyrim this year the competition is pretty awesome for GOTY GoW3, Uncharted, BF3, L.A. Noire Batman:AC, AC:Revelation and Skyrim.

But everyone knows that Assassin's Creed and CoD come out every November. Bethesda knew about Uncharted as well. Battlefield and Halo may have been surprises but they're FPS. Skyrim will not move!

Bleucrunch4676d ago

People who are having to make the difficult choice would logically choose skyrim or Saints Row because of the fact that it has a loooong shelf life in game play. These aren't games that you will beat in 6 hours no no nooooo these games will take time and with Skyrim WILL consume My LIFE! LOL

Prcko4676d ago (Edited 4676d ago )

gonna buy uncharted anyway,so delayed or not i don't care, gonna rent skyrim

thekiddfran4676d ago

Rent skyrim? You are going to need alot of money to rent it so.

Oldsnake0074676d ago

lol renting Skyrim. sry but that is the most retarted statement I have read on this site.

Jack-Dangerously4676d ago

It's "RETARDED" bub. It took around 20 hours to beat the main quest in Obvlivion. He didn't say "I'm gonna rent it and platinum it!"

I'm so sick of all of the jerks on here. If you can't speak respectfully and maturely then you should not be on this site.

ViserysTargaryen4676d ago

You can Gamefly it and keep it for the entire month.

kaveti66164676d ago

Jack, do you think you're being any more respectful?

Maybe if you thought about it, you'd come to the conclusion that renting Skyrim is really a bad idea. The main quest may take 20 hours to beat, but Bethesda's RPGs are not just about completing the main quest. With any good RPG, the strength of the game lies in branching sidequests.

If someone says they don't like Bethesda's RPGs and then says that they'll just rent the game, you have to wonder why they don't like it. Maybe if they invested a little more time in exploring the world they'd understand the point of the RPG. The main quest is like a red herring. It's important in getting the player to move forward, but the world and all the quests within it take a lot longer to develop than the main quest. Bethesda wants the players to explore that world.

Renting an RPG as vast and deep as Bethesda's games is truly a retarded idea. And no one has to pay any respect to the moron that says he's going to rent Skyrim.

ZombieAssassin4676d ago

Yea I gotta agree with these guys renting skyrim is not the best move unless you have a Gamepass or something like that to where you can have it out for as long as you want for a flat fee...even then you'd prolly be better off buying it.

Gazman4676d ago

you may as well buy skyrim because after renting it untill you finish it you will of most likely spent enough money to buy it

Merivigian4676d ago

Yea, a reported 300 hours. Even if you played nonstop without sleeping, eating, stopping, etc. You would spend 12.5 days on it. There's no way a person could rent a game like Skyrim.

Jocosta4676d ago

Your going to buy UC3 but rent Skyrim? Ok then.

nycredude4676d ago

Have you guys never heard of gamefly? You rent a game, keep it for as long as you want. If you want to keep it just tell them and they send you the box and manual.

Bleucrunch4676d ago

Of course we heard of it but its senseless to rent a game that have hundreds of hours of content with DLC coming to it in the future. I have gamefly but I would never consider renting Skyrim...Renting Uncharted would seem the more logical approach but I am buying that game as well...a game to rent would be something like COD since it comes out every single year with its regurgitations.

BeOneWithTheGun4676d ago

@streeks...Bro, you can gamefly it and then buy it from them for $10 bucks less than retail. You get the case and the booklet. Gamefly is the way to go.

I doubt Saints row 3 will be delayed since THQ is in a financial crisis and Saints row is their best money maker.

YodaCracker4676d ago (Edited 4676d ago )

That's sad if Saints Row is your best money-maker. Doesn't make you look good as a company, LOL.

kevnb4676d ago

Saints row is a big seller.

WANNAGETHIGH4676d ago

@YodaCracker...At lest saint row 2 had more fun factor than gta4.

tablav4676d ago

Saints Row is a highly respected game as it gives GTA fans what GTA took away...the fun factor. I love GTA 4, but SR2 was still a great game. Also, lots of people who want GTA 5 will likely pick this up as there's still no official announcement from Rockstar yet.

I'm Replaying Skyrim (again), and So Should You

Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.

anast10d ago

I tried, but it's a poorly made game that insults its customers.

lucian22910d ago

nah, only mods make it decent, and even then it's bad, and this is after i modded for at least 3 years

Nittdarko10d ago

Funnily enough, I'm about to play it for the first time in VR with 1000 mods to make the game playable, as is the Bethesda way

The 7 Best Western RPGs: Immersive Adventures

RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.

SimpleSlave10d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan10d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave10d ago (Edited 10d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
