Nice, lets see the guys at Turn 10 try and do this lol

Max_Dissatisfaction4681d ago

nah, they are too busy making fun games that are the only AAA rated racing games this gen...BELIEVE.
OT...so thats how you sink 5 years 'making' a game

CernaML4680d ago

This the reason why driving the cars in GT5 actually feel right. :)

Bnet3434681d ago

They're too busy working on a game like their supposed to. A feature filled racing game, not a $40 demo either.

ZombieAssassin4681d ago (Edited 4681d ago )

Aww how cute the fanboys are fighting over which game is better....

Anyways I hope Yamauchi has a safe race and whips some arse.

EDIT: Anyone know if the race is being streamed anywhere?

n4gisatroll4681d ago (Edited 4681d ago )

Honestly, I respect how much he loves cars, because I'm there too. But the fact that he's making games too pisses me off. It does explain why we don't have the dlc for the preorder cars, or dlc for the hidden tracks, or any update to prologue, when he said that prologue was going to be updated at gt5 release to have the full game without buying another disc. Kaz, seriously, good luck but quit one of your jobs.

Edit: mass disagrees? Seems like we're all getting disagrees for nothing.

Nitrowolf24681d ago (Edited 4681d ago )

Jeezus
the mass amount of comments criticizing him because he's at a race track. WOW, really? It's not like he's the only one at PD working on stuff. And plus developers can't have a one day break either?
wow

@Below

If this weren't even posted, people would believe he's sitting at PD creating games right now. Of course he trains for this event. But the fact that people are complaining about that is just ridiculous.

WTF wrong with creating a game that's meant to be the best Racing Sim by learning what it's like to be a professional driver?

I understand what you mean btw. But why can't should he have to pick? Without this there is no GT. The fact that hid game made such a huge impact onthe automobile industry itself is enough aswell.

And BTW it's not like he's the only dev that does this. Literally all developers do things like this to look for inspiration. Guys behind Call of Duty go to real Military bases, interview real Soldiers and even fire real guns. Other devs are just like this.

n4gisatroll4681d ago (Edited 4681d ago )

No he can. But being a race driver, that's not a one day a week thing. You need to train hard. He's the lead dev on all projects, he needs to tell people what to do because it's obvious everyone else is kicking back doin little here and there. Like I said, I respect what he does. I'm jealous, truth be told. But he needs to decide if he want to build/race cars, or build games. If I were him I'd build cars and leaving gaming.

Edit: that's true, but I just want dlc for gt5. He needs to hire someone or give someone a promotion to make sure this happens. I know Sony would probably want that too, if we're willing to cash out, I dont see why they still have yet to release important stuff yet.

ZombieAssassin4681d ago (Edited 4681d ago )

He trains playing his games from what I hear (of course he prolly trains with real cars too), so he's basically making his games to train himself and does races because he needs to know how cars handle since he makes a racing sim...he wins all around.

Besides why only do 1 thing with your life if you are capable of more?

I'd love some Gt5 DLC though, I'd prefer new tracks over cars as they already have enough of those.

Nitrowolf24681d ago (Edited 4681d ago )

Yes i want DLC to, that's true.
I've notice the last few updates have been pretty large. I don't think they will release GT5 DLC in a small pack, i'm expecting them to release a huge pack.

@Below

it's been rumored since April. here a track list

http://www.psu.com/Rumor--T...

so i wouldn't be surprised

n4gisatroll4681d ago

Nitro:

I hope your right and they do release a huge update/dlc, something like spec 2 or something as relevant as that.

This is some real passion for cars. Now GT5 does have it flaws but the physics are its best feature and this hands on experience definitely helps.

Thank you for the link to a stream, bubs+ for you.

I gotta say, GO Bergmeister/Lietz/Holzer/Long (D/A/D/USA), Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid.

I race here in the States and Patrick Long is a beast behind the wheel. He is also one of the only Factory drivers from the US to drive for Porsche. He also is a genuinely nice guy who has been a help to other racers like me. SO, Go Pat and Joerg. BTW, they are driving the factory Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid (Version 2.0). Yes a hybrid. It was the flat-out fastest car till it was handicapped by the race organizers just before this 24hr. But I would not doubt an overall win for them like in past races. The car is super reliable and only needs 2 fuel stops to everyone else's 3.

I also hope as a pro/Am driver Kazunori does well and finishes the race. Believe it or not that is the hardest part in a 24hr enduro. Hopefully he will be there at the end and place in his class. A little info for you guys who may not know much about this type of racing, Kazunori is not in a position or class for an overall win. He is there for a class win. There are multiple classes out there, he's toward the mid top.

Projekt7tuning4679d ago

The Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid was winning overall for sometime till this happened.

"The Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid was the next car to hit trouble after an apparent accident with a Renault Clio RS at Schwedenkreuz, the car returned to the pit and lost more valuable time in the pit box while being fixed"

You got to finish to win, even if your the fastest. Shame for Pat.

Gran Turismo 7 Has a "Really High Number of Active Users", Says Kazunori Yamauchi

The biggest surge in player numbers came after the release of Gran Turismo 7 Spec II in November, the game’s largest and most significant content update since it was released in March of 2022.

“When we released the Spec II update, the number of active users jumped up to double of what it was before that,” Yamauchi-san revealed. “I’ve heard in the video game industry that is quite rare.”

Spec II introduced seven new cars, an all-new snowy rally track, new single-player content, a new rotating set of “Weekly Challenges”, new license tests, four-player split screen, Photomode and Scapes enhancements, and the introduction of the all-new AI system, Gran Turismo Sophy 2.0, as a special mode in the game.

That's Xbox language right there....quick...let's make a dozen articles about how the game is super duper successful

darthv72124d ago

It does seem rather odd choice of wording. Usually they tout specific numbers, or something to that effect.

Babadook7123d ago (Edited 123d ago )

I think the point he is making is that even though the game is old (likely sold very well) it's still making records for active users. I can see two reasons why; PSVR2 is now by far the best way to play the game as of this year, and Spec II just launched which brings a lot more stuff to do, expending peoples play time. I can see why he's interested in the reaction here. Deserved IMO.

Einhander1972124d ago

They don't reveal sales directly, but the series sold over 90m in March of 2022. It was estimated that the game had sold 5.5 million at that time, but the series has historically had long legs. When Spec II launched it was pulled back into the top 20 for example.

Crows90124d ago

Dont think you got my point.

If this was an xbox game it would receive so many articles about its success based purely on active user.

No insulting the game just pointing out the hypocrisy.

PhillyDonJawn124d ago (Edited 124d ago )

"But what are the sales!!!" Lol

VariantAEC122d ago

More than 5 million units. That was announced late last year or early this year (2023).

Stanjara124d ago

No surprise, ps5 selling and the game is most beautiful and approachable racing sim today.

Nacho_Z124d ago

I think people are probably enjoying Sophy, if they release their next game with it featuring as a core component they're on to a winner imo.

Offline racing against an AI that acts like an intelligent human is perfection for a lot of people.

Lightning77123d ago

Player counts are important for a game with LS elements. This much is known even Sony knows this. Of course it's important for a game like this.

Einhander1972123d ago

Yea, it's especially nice when your player counts are high because you were able to sell millions of copies of your game.

Yamauchi: Gran Turismo 7’s Spec II Update ‘Doubled Active Users’

The latest free update for Sony’s idiosyncratic racing game has helped the Gran Turismo series continue its popularity, according to its lead, Kazunori Yamauchi.

eagle21137d ago (Edited 137d ago )

Love it, love it, love it. (Did I say I love it?) :)

Babadook7136d ago (Edited 136d ago )

Sophy is wonderful. I hope they can just turn it on for all races though.

Plague-Doctor27137d ago

This is somehow the game I have put the most time into on my ps5 so far. It also convinced me to add a psvr2 and wheel, which I am both happy I have and angry I bought at the same time lol

outsider1624136d ago

Same here. Just finished a race a few mins ago and came here lol. I came 6th and even then such a fantastic race. Except for 1 or 2 most racers were really clean and respectful.
Planning to get the wheel (sold it to a friend) again along with psvr2.

The seven new cars in Gran Turismo 7's next 'big' update

Series Producer Kazunori Yamauchi has let slip that Gran Turismo 7's next update will arrive the week commencing 30th November 2023. Here are the seven cars, revealed, set to be included.

Abear21170d ago

Agreed but so hard to complain when every update is free! Also, what tracks? Basically every great track is already in there.

RaiderNation170d ago

I want more city/urban tracks. Seattle and Rome would both be great starts!

And it doesn't need to be free! I'd GLADLY pay for a DLC track pack!

EazyC170d ago

I would be highly surprised if this update doesn't have at least one track in it.

S2Killinit171d ago (Edited 171d ago )

I see at least one dodge challenger. One Renault. One Porsche 911 of some sort, And one possible Skyline

EazyC170d ago

This one is gonna be good, I think GT fans have been waiting for this one for months now... fully expect a new track in here, and hopefully some significant single player events/missions.

Some new configurations to Sport Mode would be awesome too. Give us a reason to use these amazing new cars!

The 190E Evo 2 is such a cool addition... with the Alfa and BMW E30 M3, we can now do full-blown 1992 DTM races.

And the LFA....for obvious reasons....awesome.

purple101169d ago

4 daily races (weekly races in fact) please. Or keep the 3. And have 1 rotating one daily.
