It's alright looking. I was expecting it to look better because of everything they were saying, but this looks like a small step above Medal of Honor, and not even Bad Company 2 level. I hope it was an old demo though, and that it looks better upon release. Besides that, I know it will be a great game just because it's Battlefield, and Battlefield is always amazing. Still have high hopes for it.

Finally a confirmed console version that looks good. Demo looks solid and people complaining about sub pc graphics need to relax. Get the pc version if you want it. The graphics are still better than the "other" game, which will bring on disagrees, but truth hurts sometime. And gameplay still looks like tons of fun! I wish Jimmy Gallon ACTUALLY knew how to play video games. It hurts to watch him make believe he's a real gamer.

Well, I thought it looked awesome. It's off-screen footage guys so you gotta take that into consideration. The animations looked great and the drop-off from the PC version is to be expected (again, why do some of you feel the need to state it doesn't look as good as the PC version is beyond me), but it's still a very pretty game. Agreed you don't like the way it looks buy it on PC if you have one that can handle it. As far as Jimmy Fallon being a real gamer he very well could be, believe me I know people who play a lot of video games even though by most "real" gamer standards they are terrible...it almost kills me watching my bro try to play an online game but he'll set their and play for hours even though he'll be getting destroyed.

I'm gonna be totally honest.

This didn't look that great graphically, compared to the PC build. The PC version will obviously look better but i had no idea the console versions were that far behind in the visual department.

When i saw the smoke effect on the car i thought it was pretty flat and ugly.

This is obviously only a demo, but the game is only 4 months away from release so how much time they'll actually put in to polish the game is the real question. Hope they do a good job because console owners supported DICE just as much as PC gamers this gen, with Bad Company series.

This is a game for PC sure, but lets hope those of us who still play on console and like that way better will get an equal treatment in graphical upgrade.

We all saw the same demo segment a few months ago on a PC build and this demo on consoles is noticably weaker.

I'm sure I will get a ton of disagrees but I was surprised by how much this console demo DID NOT match the earlier demos and footage.

Keep your blinders on if you want but like BigC said, this game looks a hair better than last fall's MOH.

But graphics don't make games right???? See what I did there . . . . hahaha. Either way BF3 still is one of the best looking shooters especially considering the amount of damage in the game. Looking forward to it.

I'm getting it for my PS3 because my friends are there and my PC sucks, but there is a big difference... I did a couple screen captures from the PS3 and PC version and the textures are way different. Not to mention some missing elements.

and destruction is there to some degree...the only thing I noticed definitely needing work was certain particle effects...muzzle flares from the guns looked a little 'sprite-like'...and the only glaring thing was the smoke effects from a burning car...

The smoke particle effects need a lot of work and look fairly amateurish. Otherwise, it looked good. Not great (one above good), but good is more than enough for a game that offers the level of destruction/involvement as BF3.

I would probably play Jimmy Fallon's game of "Hide".

Actually i built mine few months before the sandy bridge announcement and to fit 775socket meant water cooler on 1156 socket was nightmare enough for me. The GB water cooler i was using for last 4 years and they didn't have new waterblock/clamps for 1156 so had to improvise with bleeding fingers. So now will wait full generation for changing MB but might just change the card down the line.

But remember that a Ps3 costs less than a decent Graphics card ... let alone an entire gaming rig.

The resolution, AA, and framerate looks good. Textures and SSAO also. Besides some screen-tearing, I don't see anything to fault about this PS3-version footage at all.

Also, I don't know what people are talking about "jaggies" or "low-res" for... this looks like it's using MLAA (as seen in God of War 3, Killzone 3, and Portal 2) and MLAA almost completely eliminates jaggies.

I think some people (fanboys?) are seeing what they WANT to see, rather than seeing reality.

I can finally agree with you and say the gameplay footage owned mw3 and crysis 2. Crysis 2 was a mess in the framerate department while cod just has very bad sub hd graphics. Plus none of those games had destruction that this game has on consoles. Instead of fighting over bf3 pc vs consoles lets focus on bf3 vs mw3 instead shall we ;)

In my honest opinion, it looked like they whipped this up over a couple of weeks to put the console players at ease. It didn't look anywhere as polished as the PC version. I wasn't expecting PC graphics, but the animations look worse, the game has pop-in, and the lighting look..off. That's why I later said that is pre alpha, so I will reserve my full judgement of the game for later.

Well considering the tank gameplay for E3 was PRE-Alpha (only 2 weeks ago) they may well still be in pre or alpha, most likely the latter though.

They also said they are gonna polish the hell out of the game until its released so this probably isn't a FINAL representation of the final product on consoles. Lets just hope DICE commits to it :/

The game play is AAA and the graphics will get better but Consolers need to realize.....The Frostbite Engine 2.0 on the PC is DX11 which the PS3/360 Can not do so don't get all sad faced because the PS3/360 won't even be close to the PC version.

Even if COD and BF3 had the same graphics I would still ONLY buy BF3 because I know the BF series is better than COD, DICE is better than Sledgehammer,Infinity Ward,Treyarch and honestly i enjoy the huge maps and total warfare of BF than the small maps and twitch shooting of COD.

If COD is your thing then by all means go buy it and enjoy it. I was just curious as to how much DICE could accomplish with the PS3 as they try to shrink a huge game down to fit the PS3. Looks good so far.

Sorry my brotha but I can't think of a current game that can come close to everything BF3 will have. Other games like COD have a more shiny slick look to them but that's cuz everything except the occasional red barrel or car or pane of glass is indestructible. BF3 has that gritty dirty more natural look about it. In COD everything looks like it's got a coat of wax on it. Fuck I felt like I needed a shower just from watching the demo with all the shit flying in the air !

Watched it in 1080p multiple times and you start to get used to it. Different shadow placements and quality. Obvious difference in lighting quality and smoke particles, noticeable missing key frames in animations but in overall terms it's pretty much the same presentation.

I hear a lot of people knocking those who mention the superior PC version, but what do you expect when we keep expecting the console versions beings on par with the PC, don't you think if it was possible you would have seen it by now, all I can say is if the Xbox-360 version looks as good as this I am happy because my Xbox-360 is getting on a bit now but my investment was a good one because these are very good graphics for a console with such little RAM, it's amazing actually that the devs still keep pulling off better looking games.
