Neocrisis: Did anyone actually “win” at E3?

Neocrisis: Here we go again... Some days before E3 started, I heard some people claiming this was gonna be the best E3 of all time. Why? Simply because they thought it was gonna be, no explanations were made, they just said it, and people swallowed it. The problem with this, is that not only E3 has been, well not mediocre, but it hasn't been up to the expectations of the thousands of gamers out there, (even if some of you blindly believe it did).

Probably not. Some failed harder than others, but I wouldn't bother with discerning a clear winner.

jazzking20014704d ago (Edited 4704d ago )

agreed, instead of asking who won i think its better to ask who was suked the least lol

necronzero4704d ago

And this was supposed to be the best E3 ever... *Looks at those websites who dared to publish such bs*

Sony won. Microsoft showed multiplatform games and showed what we knew was coming out already. Nintendo showed us lots of things that won't come out until 2 or 3 years in the future. Sony showed us stuff that we will be excited in the coming months and next year.

1. Battlefield 3 = it's simply the biggest baddest and best looking game E3 has ever seen or anybody else for that matter. Kingdoms of Armular, Mass Effect 3, Uncharted 3, Gears3, Skyrim and others all looked great but are several notches below BF3

Tie

2. PSVita is super duper hot. it has the potential to over come Nintendo's dominance on the Hand held market or at least get 50% market share. The simple fact that a model comes with 3G means the PSVita can be the perfect all in one device. Music, Games, Video, Internet and Now Cell Phone! I'm sure a hack or App will becoming SOON to allow the PSVita to act as a Phone.

2. Wii-U Nintendo knows their role and they have pumped up the volume and entered the HD era but have brought the most innovative device to the industry. The hand held controller with screen will open up a MEGA TON of new gaming options. In 3 years Sony and Microsoft will be copying Nintendo AGAIN!

3. Playstation 3 and PC. with PS3 getting the Dust 514 Exclusive along with having cross-platform support in Portal 2 I think this is the start of a great experiment in getting PC gamers together with consolers. With todays consoles being basically low end PC's i feel Sony is doing the right thing buy bridging the gap.

Looser...
Exclusives.
this E3 saw the lowest amount of exclusives ever. 95% of the titles had multiple platforms listed and with the Wii-u coming out most games will be made for 4 platforms maybe 5 if you add PSVita.

I don't think Sony will be copying Nintendo in 3 years. Why? Because using a touch device as a controller is one of things Sony is pushing with PlayStation Vita. They just haven't designed a whole system around it. Surely you've seen the 'Transfarring' system Kojima is pushing with MGS HD Collection and ZoE HD Collection. It's the same thing as Wii-U. Both companies are innovating. Meanwhile Microsoft is left behind.

In my opinion Nintendo won E3 but Sony came extremely close. Nintendo won because of these things:

- Wii-U Announcement
- Showing Zelda in HD
- 3DS Line up consisting of Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart 3D, Luigi's Mansion 2, StarFox 64, Kid Icarus Uprising, Tekken
- Announcing next gen Super Smash Bros. for Wii-U and 3DS
- Announcing Pikmin 3 for Wii-U today

But Sony had plenty of announcements I loved as well;

- PS Vita Pricing
- Sly 4
- God of War Origins
- PS Vita game line up is nuts. Shinobido, Dragons Crown, Uncharted, Little Big Planet, Mod Nation Racers, Street Fighter X Tekken...it's nuts.

Overall I was pretty satisfied with this E3.

i think that MS focused too heavily on Kinect
it will leave lots of gamers angry

Good call ATi. I was predicting the BF3 would be the E3 winner and getting crap for it. PS Vita was cool and I think Sony really nailed the price point. The PS3/PC integration thing is also cool and has great potential. The only one off your list that I'm a little iffy on is the Wii-U. The controller with touch screen seems cool with lots of potential uses. Only concern I have is the comfort factor. 15-30 minutes of use probably won't matter, but what about those sessions that go on for hours? I'm thinking it will be really uncomfortable after a while.

jazzking20014704d ago

the wii u control idea is cool
but if you to look at both the tv and controller screens, i think playing will become harder

ATiElite4704d ago

Nintendo controllers always hurt my hands for some reason. The Wiiu controller seems like the standards format but just that your hands will be wider apart than normal.

IDK i gotta get a hands on test.

DeeZee4704d ago

No, but I was most impressed by Sony's event. Which is shocking because I thought Nintendo would impress me the most with a new console, but they didn't show enough.

M-A-R-S-H-A-L-L4704d ago

Sony's conference was the most impressive, IMO.

sikbeta4704d ago

Sony conference was the best, it wasn't something mind-blowing, but compared to the others, was consistently good...

6 Fun Games Where You Actually Play As The Bad Guy

While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.

Profchaos4h ago

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Tacoboto3h ago

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

banger883h ago

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).

I never got around to mass effect - I’m skeptical that it would hold up if I were to try it now

Furesis20h ago

I would say it does. The combat is a bit shit for todays standards but everything else is great.

It's worth a play through today.
