Listen to this man Nomura! I don't care if you remake the game for PS3 or NGP! I don't care I just want this remake!

tehpees34719d ago

the man himself has spoken. FFVII deserves a HD remake

Kee4719d ago

Well, Kojima is the man... That I can't argue with. But SE would probably fluff it up with their recent track record. They need to de-merger and be squaresoft again. Back when it was all about taking your time and putting out a really good game. They've gotten too corporate.

Tetsuya Nomura tells Hideo Kojima to make MGS4 trophy patch.

rockleex4719d ago (Edited 4719d ago )

Nomura needs to make it, with help from Mistwalker, and help from Kojima to make some scenes even MORE epic!

:P

darthv724719d ago

conveniently leaving off certain systems from your list.....

playing it safe or smart?

rockleex4718d ago (Edited 4718d ago )

@darthv72

When Nomura makes a game, he only makes it on one system.

If he re-made FF7 then the PS3, or NGP, would be the most likely candidate if you look at all the previous FF7 games.

FF7 - PS1, PC
FF7 Dirge of Cerberus - PS2
FF7 Crisis Core - PSP

firefoxprime4718d ago

Yeah...well mr.kojima? Where's my Z.O.E 3???!!? HUH?

Finally some common sense spoken and from who else but Kojima San himself. Look there is only one game that i truly want a remake for at anytime and could sell a console. That game is FF7. No doubt about it. If it is not on a Sony platform though they can expect backlash. Necessary or unnecessary..... gamers will decide with their wallets.

Godmars2904719d ago

I'm in the "no" camp because I've lost faith in Square. They've become too focused on presentation and graphics. Haven't had an idea what story and character development is since FFVII.

miyamoto4719d ago

Actually they are more focused on profit quantity not the product quality. Very very unlike Kojima-san.

Otheros004719d ago

Not Nomura though. His games are always released on one platform. Nomura doesn't port games only remake them. Like he did for re:coded and chains of memory for ps2.

Nomura and most people that are working on FFvsXIII are part of the team that made FFVII. So, I don't think it will be gimped if remade by Nomura.

BubbleSniper4719d ago (Edited 4719d ago )

I think Sakaguchi needs to play a roll in the remake for the most obvious reasons.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

the key people, aside form him are still there @ SE, I think.

Go crazy with the boss fights, add new weapons and such.
Don't gimp the combat for the story, keep the pace the same!

phantomexe4719d ago (Edited 4719d ago )

i read years back that they are not all there, over half of them are at capcom or nintendo. The original guy who preety much made ff games great isn't even there anymore. He owns mistwaker studio. I was preety sure all this was common knowledge now. I still like to see it remade tho.

Senden4719d ago

Agreed. Square couldn't make a successful remake as they are now.

abc12334719d ago

Surely that should be precisely why SE should be making it? The story and character development is all there, it's just the graphics and presentation which need reworking. Even though SE has many faults, making games with poor graphics and presentation isn't one of them

HINDERIZATION4719d ago

i think that ended at FFIX imo

TheDivine4719d ago

Me too but i say no just because its not needed. It still looks good enough and plays well. Its not even the best ff or jrpg i dont know why people love this game so much. Id rather have a new ff than one remade that ive played and know the story already hows that fun? Its nostalgic yes but id rather have a new hd zelda than a hd ocarina, make NEW games. If its changed up people will hate it, if its not its the same darn thing so its pointless. If they must remake sumthing remake vagrant story, xenogears, chrono cross something people might of missed.

DeadIIIRed4719d ago

Exposing the game to a younger generation is why I support it. You ask how is a remake fun. Think of it as watching a favorite movie in black and white, and then into color. I'm sure there is a movie that you've seen more than a few times.

baodeus4719d ago (Edited 4719d ago )

I don't think new generation would like JRPG (well just based on the current trend) as much. There are still some old times gamers (me for example) buying them for nostalgic reasions (some traditional JRPG are actually really good like Lost Odyssey), but most just kinda moved on or something.

I'm not ditching JRPG or remakes of great titles, but if they can't make a new JRPG with same caliber like before and people keep asking for remakes instead of new IP, then what they said about JRPG is dead might not be that far off. What are we gonna do, keep playing different remakes of FF7?

If only he owned Square-Enix, the world would be a better place.

illidari4719d ago

Kojima: Hey Nomura...I think you should...you know..finally remake that FFVII game since your fans are constantly asking for it.

Nomura: Hey Kojima...I think you should...you know..finally patch in trophies into MGS4 since your fans are constantly asking for it.

Kojima: ....

Nomura: ....

We have hit a stalemate.

Killzone3___4719d ago

lol , but people saying they will play mgs for trophies is lame , why you play games ? .. for trophies or for fun and to see good story ?...

ps1 and ps2 days are gone , i love these days , all have fun playing the game , now people only collect the games , even i who don't want to collect trophies i do it , i dunno how , but i always look at the trophies , it's stupid but it's like playing cod , i can't stop playing cod but the game always the same..

Yuji Naka guilty of insider trading breaks silence to accuse Square Enix producer of lies

Yuji Naka was fined $1.2 million and given a suspended jail sentence for the crime.

Profchaos8d ago (Edited 8d ago )

I find his comments around how Balan turned out to be very insightful as to why the game is trash. He basically apologises for its existence

solideagle7d ago

can you please give some of us who don't know anything about this, a summary of what happened?

Chocoburger7d ago

Balan was knowingly rushed out by S-E, it had an extremely short dev cycle and was fairly low budget.
Naka was the game's director until near the end when he was fired or perhaps he quit, I forgot.

carrotcakeag7d ago

@Chocoburger Yeah they did fire and replace him which caused him to unload a bunch of rants about the company. The project only existed because of Naka in the first place, he convinced Square to give him one shot at making a platformer. They gave him an opportunity but pulled the rug out before he was done for reasons not explained.

Please o please don't turn dragon quest into final fantasy square enix we dont wont that. Dragon quest works well just as it I. Plus you'll piss off Japanese fans to.

Hopefully they don’t. From this it doesn’t sound like that is the case and development is just taking too long.
