Wait how did Famitsu review Bulletstorm first

Cajun Chicken4815d ago

I don't know...but NOT a bad score for a quirky western FPS!

StarScream4Ever4815d ago

Japanese do like quirky stuff even if its western.

TBM4814d ago

Honestly I was eager to play bulletstorm when it was first announced, but after playing the demo I found it got old very fast.

Pull, kick, shoot rinse and repeat was all I could think while playing. The dialogue is laughable at best, but I know that's what they were going for its just not for me.

I'll get BS down the line when its a lot cheaper.

TBM4814d ago

Wow im not surprised by the disagreers lol, I guess I have to like every game coming out and pay full price for it too huh?

All I can do is hahahaha

Silentmerc3nary4814d ago

This dialog IS laughable, which is exactly why I was laughing my ass off creatively killing my way trhough a metric-fuck-ton of mutated spuds!

KillaManiac4815d ago

Ive put so many hours into Disgaea 3 its not even funny.

Will day 1 purchase this easy.

gorebago4815d ago

Hell yea. I played 1 and 2 on the ps2 and then years later bought the, again on the psp so I'm right there with you.

Nugan4815d ago

I wonder when we are going to get Rune Factory Oceans. I guess it doesn't matter, because I'm not even through year one in Frontier

Zydake4815d ago

Wait wth?
"Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity (PSP) – 10/9/9/9
Bulletstorm (PS3/360) – 9/8/9/8
Disgaea 4 (PS3) – 9/8/8/8
Harukanaru Toki no Naka de 5 (PSP) – 9/8/8/8
Killzone 3 (PS3) – 8/8/8/9
Rune Factory: Oceans (Wii/PS3) – 8/8/8/7
Vitamin X to Z (PSP) – 8/7/6/6
Muchi Muchi Pork! & Pink Sweets (360) – 6/6/6/6"

Does this mean Bulletstorm got a better score then KZ3? the fuck?

xCaptainAmazing4815d ago

yes, the universe will explode. it's just one review, but it wouldn't surprise me if it turned out to be better. Epic is a great studio and they've been around for a long time.

aviator1894815d ago

yeah, epic is pretty great in development, but bulletstorm is mainly developed by People Can Fly. Epic was there sort of as a mentor to the studio.

For example, epic suggested people can fly to change bulletstorm from third-person shooter to a fps.

palaeomerus4815d ago

9/8/9/9 is about an 85 average.
8/8/8/9 is like an 82.5 average.

Keep in mind that Japan doesn't buy Killzone or really any other FPS. So the score barely matters.

cobpswii36004815d ago (Edited 4815d ago )

Bulletstorm will not be the better game. No fucking way.

lol

DelbertGrady4815d ago

@cobpswii3600 - Golden rule of the fanboy: Multiplats can never be better than exclusives. No matter how good they are in reality.

gypsygib4815d ago

I know Epic can make some great games but BS is extremely boring judging from the demo.

lh_swe4814d ago

Delbert - With that logic everyone is an idiot fanboy as soon as they critisize a multiplat...oh no! That's not the case? Bulletstorm doesn't look all that great...hmmm, Delbert you 'anti'-fanboy googles are seemingly malfunctioning.

This is of course true, I was merely speaking of things with the Epic brand.

masterofpwnage4815d ago (Edited 4815d ago )

does it matter bro.
review doesnt mean shit to me.

im actually one of the people who love and bought lair and one of the many who hated GTA4.

to make you feel better, they gave lair ( which i loved ) and haze a almost perfect score

callahan094815d ago

I'm a little concerned about that myself. I've played the demos for the two games and I have a hard time accepting that Bulletstorm could be better. I thought the demo for Killzone 3 was one of the most spectacular, beautiful, awesomely fun FPSs I'd ever played. The demo for Bulletstorm didn't really do it for me. The stage design was literally the most linear I've ever seen in an FPS and I wasn't blown away by the little gimmicks they threw in to make it seem so over the top. I dunno.

CBaoth4815d ago

To any sane gamer whose downloaded and played both demos, we all know which is better. And it isn't the one filled with quippy one liners from Tank Dempsey.

Honestly, I always thought KZ2 was overrated. A good game but not w/o its faults. However, for me, the sequel (well the beta and demo anyway) addressed every issue I had with the second title.

Bulletstorm's juvenile potty humor might be funny if you're 15, but even more seriously, similar games like The Club and Vanquish prove these hi-score homages to the old arcade mantra don't sell today. They quickly lose their appeal and I'm quite surprised EPIC didn't strongly recommend a MP component.

snipes1014814d ago

I was just waiting for someone to notice this and start moaning even though they are the first to review the game and there is no consensus yet. WHO. THE. FUCK. CARES?!

Vherostar4814d ago

only 1 score higher and they are very differnt games. The fact they got so high being western FPS is good.

Game0N4815d ago

i dont get this score scale...its retarded

Nitrowolf24815d ago

didn't disagree
basically it's out of 40, so what ever the number adds up to be out of 40 is your score

so this:
Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity (PSP) – 10/9/9/9

means 37/40

a_bro4815d ago (Edited 4815d ago )

4 reviewers sit down and review the game. each reviewer reviews it out of a possible 10 points.

it justs adds more credibility to the reviews by looking at the opinions of 4 people instead of one.

add up the combined score, then divide by 4, you get the average review score from those 4 reviewers. its not retarded at all.

ChickeyCantor4815d ago

Just because you don't comprehend it doesn't mean it's retarded.

Algebra? I don't get it, It's retarded!

gorebago4815d ago (Edited 4815d ago )

Algebra is easy dude - but I get you're logic - lol

ChickeyCantor4815d ago

hahah i was making a point xD

kerrak4815d ago

you mean "i'm" instead of "its"

gypsygib4815d ago (Edited 4815d ago )

Every site should have at least a 3 man review team for each game to correct inconsistency that is beginning to be substantially more prevalent in reviews.

Remembering Medal Of Honor: The Forgotten Master Of WW2 Games

Ibrahim from eXputer: "The Medal of Honor franchise was once the crown jewel of FPS war games, later defeated by the tides of time and poor development."

banger881d 23h ago

They tried to turn it into Call of Duty and it killed it off. They should reboot it and go back to it's roots. But they'd ruin it with online-only/multiplayer style bullshit so why bother? I have very fond memories of these games, but this series can stay dead as far as I'm concerned.

FPS_D3TH13h ago

Was literally just thinking of this game the other week with the secret nut cracker mission and the shooting Bismarck dog lmao. Loved these games as a kid

PrecursorOrb11h ago(Edited 11h ago)

I wish they’d remake warfighter

Strictly for the campaign

The_Hooligan11h ago

I have fond memories of playing the Medal of Honor Breakthrough MP Demo. It had two maps and custom servers. Living on campus, I had it downloaded on one of the PC Lab servers so I could access it on any computer at the university. Joined a clan and made friends that I still keep in touch with today.
