Treyarch say 'Thank You!' Community says 'F**k You!'

Treyarch have just announced on their Facebook fan page that they have reached a massive goal of 5 million likes on Facebook, and unfortunately made the mistake of boasting about that and thanking all of their fans, who still remain somewhat unhappy lately.

If the game ran like it was supposed to, I'd agree. But since it didn't upon release & still doesn't 2 months later, I can't.

Dee_914826d ago

lmao
they deserve it too
i wonder how many of those 5million broke it instead of returning it

Dacapn4826d ago

The platform is irrelevant. I'm a PS3 owner and actually bought a 360 for this game to play with some of my friends. The matchmaking is rancid. It plays as if there is no one who plays the game so you can sit there for hours and not get a match. In zombies, you get in a match and more than likely it will kick you out before the match starts. Party members get sent to random games. It's a shit storm considering the amount of resources they have available. Rather than spend some of their ridiculous profits on setting up a better network, they just pocket it.

blacks was .. meh okay ... don't really care much what they do next now

mw 1 was a blessing and think Sade said it best

http://www.youtube.com/watc...

ever other game just too much hype and just too much in general to live up to ... lolz .. as the mp issue .. really guys ... who cares .. time to throw this flopping fish back in the water and let it be

Eyeco4826d ago (Edited 4826d ago )

I only just got down to playing BO recently, i was left with a bad taste in my mouth after MW2, but honestly BO isnt that bad, especially compared to MW2 which is a travesty imo how patches were released for MW2 in the space of 3 months ? and more problems kept on popping up, that game was borderline broken.

, the biggest problem i have with BO online is the amount of lag switching that appears on the 360 version unbelievable the amount of cheaters there are on that game.

LightofDarkness4826d ago (Edited 4826d ago )

@deafwing (aptly named)

Sade never said anything best. Unless there has ever been a competition for most bland, soulless vocalist of the 1980s.

On topic: I haven't even played BO online yet. I have it for PC. Not through a lack of trying (at first), I tried to get into some games, any game, but alas it just didn't happen. And really, with dedicated servers, that should not have been such an issue, not to mention the countless COD game that preceded it having perfectly functional network code.

Why are people such dicks? You say one nice thing and people just throw it back at you. Gamers are like spoiled children. Only happy when they get a diamond in ther game box and anything less they just bitch bitch bitch and if anything innovative is attempted, they just shit on it. This is what happens when games are run by gamers I guess. Devs need to start doing thier own thing and just flip the bird to gamers if they are going to act like this.

Soldierone4827d ago

In some cases I agree but not in all. Simply stating something needs to be fixed or reworked is not harming anyone.

When I spend 60 dollars on a game I expect the game to be playable and fun. End of story. If I dont get that, yes I can and will complain. If you sit back and take it, then Im glad you have 60 dollars to waste on a paperweight and dont are to improve games at all.

writersblock4827d ago

the COD series deserves no better, they release rehashed BS full of glitches every few months and then sell out to MS for DLC to make more money

They have the highest selling franchise, and most gamers think its BS that they enjoy that success while releasing glitchy and unfinished games. I cant even play with friends on BO right now, I keep getting "lost connection" messages and you can forget about getting in a party with friends

espiritu6044827d ago

well if you look at black ops, the most hyped and bought game ever and look at all the glitches and problems and hacks its been to and see the previous game which is mw2 which also has hacks glitches and problem and see that both of them are the most bought just becuase the title says CALL OF DUTY then COMPARE IT to upcoming games like KILLZONE3 and RESISTANCE and even REACH then youll know why.

I dont even know how stupid some people are for judging a few people and saying EVERY gamer is like that.

HolyOrangeCows4827d ago

"Gamers are like spoiled children"

No, gamers are 'like' consumers. They're free to express grief in creative ways over a broken game.

--------4827d ago

No, we're happy when we get a working game. We haven't been given a working game.

ShinMaster4826d ago (Edited 4826d ago )

'"Bu-but I was able to get more killstreaks easier in MW2 baww :.( "'

Shows what big noobs COD players/mainstream gamers are, Lol

Peace.

xXxSeTTriPxXx4826d ago

moms/dad must still fund your gaming habits with a attitude like that.

i work hard for my money so when i spend it on something i want it to be the best i can get at the asking price.

i don't have money to waste (like that)so if i purchased a game that i believed would live up to my(realistic) expectations, and it delivers me some broken halfass piece of shit game then i have every right to bitch.

Skizelli4826d ago (Edited 4826d ago )

It's true. People bitch way too much. The truth of the matter is you should do your own research before purchasing anything. Don't believe the hype. Rather than dropping $60 on a game right away simply based on its review scores or title (as I'm sure 99% of you do - me included), a smart consumer would rent it first. In that sense, we really have no right to bitch. At least TreyArch is constantly patching the game with bug fixes and tweaks.

radphil4826d ago

"At least TreyArch is constantly patching the game with bug fixes and tweaks."

Games like Warhammer Online has bug fixes and tweaks, but they aren't doing a good effort on it. If there's high priority ones and they don't have it fixed, yet fix the beneficial ones, then something's up. Don't fix one and NOT the other.

(Relating to New Vegas in this sense for example)

Dee_914826d ago

they disrespected gamers by selling that game for $60

BISHOP-BRASIL4826d ago

I can't say that COD players didn't had it coming after COD4 obvious lack of support and all the crap that followed 'till this last game. You have to be really innocent (to not say dumb) to expect anything good of COD by now.

That said, if people still decided to buy, complaining for a malfunctioning game is the least they could do. There is nothing there to be related to a spoiled brat behaviour when you pay with your money for a broken product.

Skizelli4826d ago (Edited 4826d ago )

@radphil: To be honest, I don't know what issues PS3 players are having with Black Ops. Care to inform me? I heard something about connectivity issues. If that's true, that's one of the things they've been trying to fix in the last 2 updates. It's frustrating, but it hasn't gone unnoticed.

gaden_malak4826d ago

"You say one nice thing and people just throw it back at you. Gamers are like spoiled children. Sorry but no. You fork out good money for the game and it's broken while others have a version that mostly works. This is nothing about rehashing the previous versions of COD, they just sold crap. Why should people be ok with it?

radphil4826d ago (Edited 4826d ago )

@Skizelli:

Had customers come in pissed and returned the game, that the game freezes up on them, connectivity issues, etc.

I didn't buy the game, only rented it, and it's a good thing I did.

Now I dunno if they did this in Black Ops as what they did in MW2 on 360 for example, but there's also the blocked party chat, which honestly I'd personally be angry at, considering I haven't seen any other game do it, and it acts like the game's all that special.

Black ops was my first Call of Duty. It was a sensational military fantasy. Can't really comment on the online much since I didn't play it longer than an hour or two but I prefer Battlefield's online by far.

Skizelli4826d ago (Edited 4826d ago )

You should have popped your CoD cherry with CoD4. Best CoD in my book. The campaign was extremely good.

ShinMaster4824d ago

Saying "best COD" is like saying best McD's hamburger.

NiKK_4194827d ago

lol, wow, so negative yet so hilarious, it was a simple thank you, god people must hate treyarch, although they could do better fixin the damn thing, but still, black ops adds more than mw2 did. this is my last COD (hopefully i don't get sucked in like i did with black ops) funny thing is, mw2 was my first COD and i'm already tired of black ops, just bored with it, bfbc2 ftw!

visualb4827d ago

this made me smile =)

I wonder how they took it?

"Our fans hate us...they aren't even our fans...oh well, time to use money to whipe my @$$"

ngecenk4827d ago

well... can you blame them (the angry ps3 cod player)?

Gamer_Z4826d ago (Edited 4826d ago )

I spent $60 on a beta.. they deserve all of it, Treyarch and Activision can go to hell.

lucifon4826d ago

Indeed I'd say this is my favourite CoD yet, nostalgia of 4 aside. Treyarch did a fantastic job. It's a shame the PS3 version has been encountering issues but I'm still actively playing it as my online game of choice on the 360.

Suck it, Dexter is at 6 million

The COD community is really childish. Some of these guy really reinforce the stereotype.

I can sympathize with the "Fix your game" comments though

Dsnyder4827d ago (Edited 4827d ago )

Not many things are better than Dexter :)

EDIT:Yeah season 5 was ok. To be fair its hard to top what happened in season 4.

-Alpha4827d ago (Edited 4827d ago )

I just like Michael C. Hall, and he does the character well.

There are some great shows above Dexter, especially after the crapfest that was Season 5

Eamon4827d ago (Edited 4827d ago )

Season 2 was the best.

never_waste_a_bullet4827d ago

agree.agree.agree.agree.

season 4 grabbed me by the nads with that end twist

visualb4827d ago

makes me sad one of the greatest tv series ever is almost matched by one of the biggest gaming travesties of the past decade...

actually it doesn't make me sad.

it makes me sick

electricshadow4827d ago

IMO, the CoD community is the most immature community I have ever played with. The very short time that I rented Black Ops after I got my 360, I got called so many names, I was blown away. It would be ignorant to say EVERYONE is like that, but the majority of them are.

-Alpha4827d ago (Edited 4827d ago )

I can't comment on the 360. On the PS3 you run into an idiot or two but for the most part I don't mind. I mute and play if I run into them, most of the time it's OK.

I was referring to the forum community. I've been active in the LBP forums because of LBP2 and they are so much more nicer.

It's dependent on the game, really. LBP is more co-op emphasized anyway.

electricshadow4827d ago

I checked the CoD forums last night, Alpha-Male22, as there was an article talking about the recent bans for hacking and I totally agree with you. There was a lot of immature comments and regular threats against other members.

I did rent BO for the PS3 when it came out and I had no problem there. When I did rent it for the 360, the backlash was incredible. I was getting used to the 360 controller after using the PS3 controller for four years so I wasn't the best shot and I received two text messages and three voice messages saying how bad I was - even though my rank was still in the single digits.

-Alpha4827d ago

See, with the bans, I can understand people getting unruly. But even BEFORE the bans people are always tools. Anyone making a suggestion gets shot down with insults, etc.

There are some good contributors, but you always find a sub-argument between to immature idiots.

Soldierone4827d ago

Totally agree. Not EVERYONE online is childish, but you cant play more than two games without running into one. Its usually 20 something year olds acting like they are in high school still.

Captain Tuttle4827d ago (Edited 4827d ago )

Yeah, I get that once in awhile on 360 too, never got messages though, usually just smack talk in the lobby and I stink at the game. I just back out and make that person an "Avoided Player". Works pretty well. I usually just use Party Chat with my friends though.

electricshadow4827d ago

I got a large amount of smack talk in the lobby as well, but I didn't think much of it at all. No different from any game I've played on the PS3 or PC, especially shooters. That's why I was amazed when I received numerous messages. I was like: "Wow, really? Nothing better to do with your time then send people messages?"

hamburger1234827d ago (Edited 4827d ago )

They fucking deserved the hate.

Bunch of stealing-money-muthafukkas.

Pixelated_Army4827d ago (Edited 4827d ago )

I actually made money off Activison. lol I sold my copy on amazon for $100 (harden edition) I originally payed $60.35 :D

@OT

What makes this situation even more hilarious is the fact that Treyarch claims that they were working hard on this game for about two years. : /

hamburger1234827d ago (Edited 4827d ago )

Yeah it seems like they worked on the game like two months ago lol

I also hate the fact that they claim that they test all those patches, but they obviously don't

awesomeperson4827d ago

Lol also didn't Treyarch say they had a dedicated PS3 team?

Sure- a team of 1 person to port the stupid game over.

TheStee4827d ago

Chances are, everyone at treyarch hates this and feels terrible. Activision, i speculate may not really give 2 shits because they make money.

I would think treyarch probably isn't allowed to comment on the issues because of activision, because I can't imagine anyone who makes something and it's broken and they can't figure out how to fix it wouldn't feel absolutely terrible. While bragging about facebook activity isn't a good idea, spare a thought for them and try and put yourself in their shoes...

Gawdl3y4826d ago

Agreed. My belief is that the reason that so many things go un-fixed or receive a half-assed fix is because of Activision rushing them, or simply not allowing them to do anything. Treyarch would be much better off under a publisher like EA, not the greedy-as-hell Activision.

Troll-without-Bridge4827d ago

I really dont like Treyarch, but i think 5 million likes trumps 1000 negative comments any day.

EddyD4827d ago

As most of the people said "We only liked it to complain about how shit it was" but who knows.

Troll-without-Bridge4827d ago

If that was true there would be 5 million comments. But there isnt.

EddyD4827d ago

You're right, everyone is online all the time...

Eamon4827d ago

lol what dumb logic by Mihael-Keehl.

Yoko Taro Passes Respect; Says Stellar Blade Is "Much Better" Than Nier: Automata

Stellar Blade's creative director, Hyung Tae Kim, has also claimed that the game is deeply inspired by Nier: Automata.

shadowhaxor6h ago

I feel like Yoko is downgrading Automata because he has expressed multiple times he'd like to revisit the universe, but Squenix hasn't been keen about it. We know he loves 2B and would love to take her out for another spin, so maybe this is how he gets the company to think about it.

gold_drake5h ago

u do realise that Square made Nier a franchise after Automata right?

Taro is downplaying it cause hes not a snob like most of the directors that think their games are gods gifts to the human race.

he said the same thing when being interviewed during the development of Automata too, that he couldnt have done it without the devs.

hes just a humble guy rly.

shadowhaxor4h ago

I mean, Neir existed before Automata with both OG Niers and Drakenguard. I don't count NieR Replicant, since it's a remake of the OG games. Sure, we have Reincarnation, which is still stuck on mobile devices (quite a damned shame). I just remember Taro saying he'd love to revisit Automata if Square Enix lets him. I do recall there was supposed to be a sequel to Automata, but it wasn't confirmed and I'd imagine it was just for Reincarnation.

Enjoy Taro, he seems like a cool guy, who loves the ladies and is humble. But damn, don't put down one of your masterpieces.

Cacabunga18m ago(Edited 18m ago)

I really liked Automata and cannot wait for Stellar Blade

isarai1h ago

I get he's giving them some credit, but i strongly disagree based on the demo. I honestly don't think any aspect of it feels good, it's not bad, it's just kinda ok but definitely a little jank. Also the souls like formula it is adopting does not help it imo. I was looking forward to this for years, now im just kinda let down honestly 🫤
