Over the past decade or so, there have been a tonne of movies based around some of the world’s most popular video games, with more video games announced to be turning into movies every year. But is there really any point to video game movies?
The thing is, a lot of the video game movies seem to be made, and the wrong directors or writers are chosen for the job.
VGChartz's Lee Mehr: "In one sense, it feels strange to even think Pieces Interactive had big shoes to fill with this series' legacy. Given what's come before, did it really? And yet, even when considering the last two flops over a two-decade span, there's still something about Alone in the Dark emblazoned on a title screen that carries a sense of revered history. In that respect, perhaps this reboot's best accomplishment is in honoring that spirit through its inventive world. It's also fair to emphasize knocks against its survival-horror design, some puzzle-solving, and so on; it certainly won't be considered a trendsetter like the 1992 classic. Still, the amount of goodwill wedded to its brighter qualities makes for something that dawdles the line between unfortunately-flawed and impressively-enticing."
The new Alone in the Dark remake doesn't do anything especially noteworthy, but that doesn't mean it's bad. It's just... cromulent.
The original Alone in the Dark - hailing all the way back from 1992 - is re-imagined with Unreal Engine 4. The story and puzzle elements are dramatically overhauled, where PS5, Series X and S strive for 60fps gameplay in a decent performance mode. However there are technical rough points to this release which detract from what could be a much better game.

so NEVER hits 1080, and goes as low as a ps2.

If they are made properly, without making stupid obvious references and treated with the same care and respect as a good non-video game based film. I still haven't seen one. Though Scott Pilgrim vs. The World was very good it wasn't based on a video game. I think the director also needs to have played or watched the game it's based on and to truly experience and understand and bring it successfully to the big screen.
I just hope the future games-to-movies are better than 2000's ¬¬
They rely too much on the consumer fan base and the pre-conceived notion that the millions of fans that enjoy a particular gaming title will welcome a new media release with open arms.
Such could not be further from the truth.
There really is yet to be a well done, plot-driven game to move adaption that really can make the bridge between gaming multimedia and cinema.
I Enjoyed Prince of Perisa Movie alot and it is exactly what Prince of persia the movie should be. ( and yes i have Played Prince of persia the sands of time Warrior with and two thrones) ( and Also for the TOpic about Making Games in to Movies Yes i know alot of them arent good but i am sure uncharted movie will change that For sure.
Meh, Uncharted is still a 50/50.
