CES: Mouse and Keyboard Control Coming to Xbox 360

This is nothing new there have been K&M adaptors for consoles for a long time now.

They force K&M into games by fooling the console to understand entries as those coming from a common controller, this plague all adapters to generally the same problems of loose controls. Not only those things create input lag but the differences in the way mouses and analog sticks work, make them almost incompatible to conversion and really hard to tune right, coulpled with the fact games aren't designed for it, you'll be lucky if you don't end up with an awkward unresponsive mouse and gameplay worse than what it was with gamepad.

well i do now their are mouse and keyboard for PS3 as well, but I don't think you can get the sensitivity like you can from a pc mouse

K&M don't belong on consoles, takes away the even playing field you get on consoles. I say if you want to use K&M stay on your damn PC. As for K&M being better it depends on what your used to I actually play better with a controller and if your playing on a console and everyone is using controllers it doesn't matter if K&M is better because everyone is using the same controller anyways.

its for cheaters who can't win any other way. mouse and keyboard wins everytime, so the increase in popularity of this rubbish will ruin xbox live. oh well, it was good well it lasted. i don't care how bad you are with a controller, it is no excuse to cheat, no matter what their delusional justifications are.

I played BlackOps on ps3 today & the turns were way to slow 4 me!! It's hard to go back to a controller so this could help!

it doesn't increase sensitivty. When you move the mouse to the right, it tells the game your analog stick is pushed all the way to the right. Sensitivity cannot be changed except within the game itself.

I know how you feel though, I've gone through so many different controllers, and neither the PS3 or 360 controllers have anywhere near the accuracy a mouse allows.

Your best bet is still Fragfx, only problem is they are hella expensive.

then stay off console. it is unfair to play against controllers with a mouse. so if the only way you can 'supposedly' play is by cheating then why bother. everyone else makes do with a fair controller, why do people like you have to ruin it for the rest?

this device (the ps3 version at least) has some pretty good reviews, however there are some problems I've noticed from the reviews that have made it a non-buy for me.

For one, the sensitivity of the mouse does not transfer over. I don't really know why I was expecting this converter to give the the aiming reticule a speed boost, I guess I was just tired of the tortoise like speed even with analog sticks moved all the way to the sides. With the eagle eye, when you move quickly to the right, the game acts as if you are holding the analog stick all the way to the right, and the camera acts accordingly. Due to the low sensitivity of the games, you would need to move fairly far in order to do a full circle turn. PC gamer's who are accustomed to doing 720's with a 1 inch movement will be heartbroken.

Also, some of the reviews are saying that the horizontal movement is more sensitive than the vertical movement. No idea why that would be.

But if you HAVE to use a mouse, and you don't want to use Fragfx, then this is your best bet. The minor problems I mentioned probably' aren't dealbreakers for the average person.

On the PS3 version of the device, the connected mouse's DPI DOES affect the speed of the aiming. Not sure if it will for the 360 version.

Auto-aim screws you up more than anything when playing with a mouse. I have the PS3 Eagle Eye.

keep in mind i have the EAGLE EYE for ps3 and also the fragnstein. they do not perform the same as PC games. its still a useful device but you wont get the same results as a PC.

This device just lets you use a KB/M but it really just translating the input moves of the KB/M back into controller moves.

Lag will be involved and it will never feel like Native KB/M on PC. Next Gen consoles will have Native KB/M support but Sony and M$ should incorporate native KB/M for those that want it now. Sony may have it already actually, just Google it.

exactly. those devices will just mimic the controller which is differ than the m/kb. its basically like moving the right joystick with your hand on top of it. thats how it feels. which is kind of dumb...

Emulation will never be as good as native keyboard/mouse controls. Every accessory like this one is perfectly useless.

I guess this will be good for people who don't have enough skill to aim for themselves (gamepad), instead need a high precision device to assist them in aiming.
