It’s been almost a year since Bioware hinted on the possibility of revisiting the world of Jade Empire: “Don’t count out the studio revisiting this franchise in the not-too-distant future…” That was in February of 2010, Bio-Ware has keep quiet since. Fans of the RPG have been patently waiting for a follow-up to the 2005 game of the year for the original XBox, how long will you have them wait Bio-Ware?
With the PS5 offering Demon's Souls, here's some dormant franchises that should be brought back for the Xbox Series X|S.
GB: "It does seem that with BioWare being in the spot that they are, where their last two major releases haven’t exactly lived up to expectations, perhaps a big shift in direction is just what the doctor ordered to inject themselves with a new surge of energy and start to turn the page just in time for the new decade. It’s tough to say at this point, but with the Jade Empire trademark being suspended as of April of last year, I wouldn’t suggest anybody start holding their breath for anything major for this game just yet."
You should be asking where their talent went first
Spoilers most of them left the company already
They've addressed this before, Microsoft owns the IP and its upto them but its better to leave it then make a sequel. The OGs have a new studio and are working on a Sci-Fi game for next gen
They're to busy trying to keep Anthem alive and I doubt EA will fire up an old ip. And on top of that if they did make the game it will probably be as bad as ME Andromeda since most of the talent is gone now leave it to EA to wreck a good company.
Player 2's Matt Hewson looks at five games from his past that seem to have been forgotten by the masses and perhaps deserve a second look.
Jade Empire was/is one of their best games. It definitely ranks up there with KotOR and Mass Effect, in my opinion.
last gen...Bioware games were the ones i wanted to see most on my PS2...could only afford one system back then and had already owned a PS1 before that....had to settle with my PC...still great experiences nonetheless
That was a fun game. Loved the double axed dude and the story was great. Bioware is one of my favorite developers and I hope EA does not screw them up.
How bout Knights of the Old Republic 3? an mmo spin off just wont cut it, considering KOTOR 1 was probably their best game ever
Jade Empire was wonderful. Sometimes I just wonder what is in their minds for not making a sequel.
