people bought ruse?

they one person that bought it from my store brought it back 3 hours later complaining about it

Ju4866d ago

I strongly disagree with you. Not sure what people expect from an RTS, maybe it isn't a top RTS on a PC platform, but it certainly is on the PS3/Move. C&C could compete - with a Move update. Also, the scope of the package is huge, local online modes with plenty of replay value.

femshep4866d ago

well pc i can see but i was just looking at sales in my area

i can admit RTS is not my cup of tea but there are a couple like C&C and Star Craft ill play

Ju4866d ago (Edited 4866d ago )

You still managed to knock the game, even though you don't even play RTS (or is not your cup of tea). Thought so.

morganfell4866d ago (Edited 4866d ago )

Absolutely underrated. It's also a great look at how strategy games can work on a console. It is particularly remarkable in that I can use Moves or a Navigator and complete functions faster than many KB/M RTS titles. This isn't true for every function, such as hotkeying, but Ruse uses a different approach to that and it not only works but works extremely well.

The zoom map reveal technique is something that any RTS on any platform should implement.

Panzerkanzler4866d ago

I bought it and I like it. Most people who slammed RUSE, just for being an rts, never even played it I think. I play RUSE with the two MOVE controllers and it works like a charm.

@Femshep: Hyperbole/lies only makes you look silly.

The_KELRaTH4866d ago

I really enjoy it and feel this is where the C&C series should have gone too. What I do find rather annoying though is that this DLC is free on the US PSN but charged for in Europe

The_KELRaTH4866d ago

Just to update that the DLC is now free in Europe too - maybe it was just a typo.

.... and why would someone buy a game only to take it back 3 hours later as a)there's been a demo available b)it would like take more than 3 hours to get the feel and an understanding of the strategies of the game.

I expect I'll be playing it for years to come just as I enjoy a few skirmish rounds of Red Alert 2, Zero Hour etc etc. I don't play them every day but every few weeks I'll have a few battles much like with the Civ series.

Skynetone4866d ago

im enjoying it right know, and will pick up ruse 2. i hope its a modern setting with lots more strategy

Dante's Inferno and R.U.S.E. are now Backwards Compatible!

Just a little while ago, Major Nelson posted on Twitter that Dante’s Inferno and R.U.S.E. have been added to the ever-growing list of backward compatible Xbox games. The games are available for purchase through the digital store, or just insert your old disc and the game should automatically download. As a [Continue Reading]

Dante’s inferno is awesome. Great game.

spwittbold2103d ago

If they would add Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge and Ninja Gaiden 2 to BC I'd jazz my pants.

Switch4One2103d ago

I'm waiting for Castlevania Lords of Shadow 1 to come to BC.

MWH2103d ago

What a great game LoS was.

Switch4One2103d ago

And out of nowhere as well! It really had no business being as good as it was.

MWH2102d ago

True, it's rare to play a game with moderate to no expectations then have your mind blown away!

The unfortunate thing is that at the time many reviewers were not kind to it because it did Castlevania differently and because it copied from God of War. i found those reviews sad because they missed a great game for stupid reasons. Same for Dante's Inferno.

One thing is for sure, we were the lucky ones 👍🏻

Switch4One2102d ago

I immediately got a God of War vibe but it was done so well that I didn't care that it deviated from the series so much.
The story, the setting, the Sir Patrick Stewart, the gameplay, all wonderful!

MWH2102d ago

Don't forget the music it is amazing.

I thought the same and that's what those journslists keep missing. Games copy from each other all the time and since the begining, GoW itself borrowed from games like Devil May Cry and Rygar but it is the excution that should also count and everything about this game was top quality.

Nice to see a fellow gamer who enjoyed the same rare gems.

Surprised that RUSE has been added. Wasn’t that game taken off Steam and the Microsoft Store a few years back due to publisher rights issues?

10) Disgeae 4: A promise Unforgotten

7) Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention

5) Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice

Two problems with this

Detention was a PSV game and in what world was Disgaea 3 better than 4?

Godmars2904144d ago

Because as you can probably guess this was a badly put together and researched list. Was basically just every STG title to appear or be talked about by Sony.

rnmartinez4141d ago

Loved Deadblock and Awesomenauts especially - but I'm glad to see that Plants vs ZOmbies was tops! I was so excited when this was added to PS+, and really I feel that just about anyone can jump into it. Not too over the top military, great gameplay and simple mechanics.

Glad to see at least one of these comments offers something meaningful to the discussion!

What Happened To Strategy Gaming

What is the answer to 99 out of 100 questions? Money…

You need look no further than the strategy gaming genre for confirmation. I recall a time. A very long time ago, when finding a good strategy game was as easy as stopping at an Electronics Boutique, and going to the strategy section. You could pick out almost any game and not miss.

These days that’s not the case. Why? Well, money, and “they” think we Americans are stupid.

I wonder it XCOM will deliver, and finally fill that void missing in consoles. Nothing really worthy in the strategy genre.

All those games that IGN and gamespot rate with a 7 or 8, like Halo Wars and such, it should be more like 3's or 4's.

Those games utterly suck. About the only game that has gotten it right on the console is R.U.S.E

Sean Ryno4269d ago

I disagree very strongly with you. Ensemble did an OUTSTANDING job with Halo Wars. Go on there on any given weekend and you'll see there are more players in that than Halo 3. They built the game from the ground up for a console, and it shows. Albeit, the game is pretty simple compared to pc-strategy games, but the reason for that is obvious, the controller. I have played that game a lot and can say that it is still fun, relaxing, and a great change of pace.

Tell me please, how does Halo Wars "utterly suck"?

Robochobo4270d ago

It's still here, I enjoy playing the Total War series so much. The mods for each one keep it fresh, and the Third Age Total War mod for Medieval Total War II (Based off the LotR) has kept me busy for weeks. Continuous DLC for Shogun Total War II adds days of game play and makes it feel like a new game each time you run it. Games like Tropico and Sim City can have you invested in spending time building and sustaining massive cities for weeks/days as well. When Rome Total War II comes out at retail, the strategy genre will boom yet again, and will usher in a new era of what a RTS/Strategy game should be considered.

Qrphe4269d ago

Dood mods are fucking awesome
Ive brrn playing the Game of Thrones mod myself

And to answer this narrow-minded title
They're on PC!

iamlegend99994270d ago

Well I still play Warcraft 3. I will never stop playing that game.

h311rais3r4270d ago

There's plenty o strategy games on pc.

AAACE54270d ago

I miss dune 2000! I hate going through hoops to try to play it. The only game that kept me so captivated that i played for over 24 hours straight!
