27 MB 1.05 update for COD Black Ops now live for PS3

• Improved party reliability when leaving with party – an additional step in an ongoing series of party improvements continued in the next patch
• Improved UPnP functionality – further expands the game’s capability to open NATs on routers with universal plug and play enabled
• Enabled mute functionality in Playercards in the pre-game lobby
• Enabled kick functionality in party and private match lobbies
• Addressed an issue where the pre-game lobby would not always display properly when multiple players leave the lobby after a team split

Its the first Console gen where people can go online and play against each other, which has created alot of buzz in the Console community. I would give it a few more releases at best before people start tiring out from the repeated rehashes and the sales start dipping.

I totally disagree. Halo 3, Gears Of War (2 at least), Warhawk, MAG, Street Fighter IV, Killzone 2, BattleField series etc just to name a few. Every single game with a popular online mode has issues. Some more severe than others but overall they're largely the same or similar and none of these games got "dragged through the mud".

What u call patches on GT5 i will call extra contend or bonuses TROLLl!.... there no fixing anything there is nothing to fix ( well maybe the dog on madrid or the bottom of a particular car...lol) there just adding more staff 4 free... you haven't hear that word in a while!.

I think Geometry Wars ran at 1080p, not quite sure though. I keep wanting anyone to tell me a "polygon heavy" 1080p xbox360 game. Plz don't throw Crysis2 in there because it's only 720p and it doesn't utilize 4xMLAA.

You might want to spend a little more time looking up that "shader heavy" 1080p 360 game, instead of wasting your time with childish comments. Forza does 8 cars at 720p. Gran Turismo 5 does 16 premium cars at 1080p. Gears of War 3 looks damn good, and I'm more of a Project Gotham fan than Forza. If anyone can name a "shader heavy" 1080p title on 360, i'll retract all my claims made against the 360.

It doesn't resolve the hard freezes as they haven't been able to reproduce those problems so far. It does make a huge improvement to the party system and matchmaking, especially for those on moderate NAT. Check out the alternate source above where I've gone through the actual changes the patch makes in a 'real world' scenario.

I'm part of a small group of PS3 users who have been playing with David Vonderhaar (the guy in charge of multiplayer at Treyarch)for a few weeks trying to isolate some of the issues.

when i download it's more then 200 kb in a second , so it's fast and i even can be the host but i always lag , i make it default i lag , i make it local i still lag , i make it local only same appen , always lag , when i test my network in the pc i get 1.9mb and ping 37 !!! still lag!!! .. i think it's in the game not the network , i lag in both company >.< .. im not trolling , i like the game and want to play it but the lag makes it really sucks and worst then Mw2 !! this is really annoying >.< ..

But yeah, the thing is in Call of Duty, if you don't live in America and the host is an American, your pretty much screwed. I'm from Puerto Rico, and i've NEVER had 4 full bars, cuz the host is always an American and it's kind of hard to kill them bcuz everyone in your other team has 4 bars, and you only have 3. Even when i play with my American friends, i still have 3 bars...But once i was host and all my Puerto Rican friends had 4 bars and every American had 3. I think the problem is that If your from a different country, even if you had a good connection, your not gonna get 4 bars unless the host is from the same country as you. THIS is why i play Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2 and Halo Reach. I don't lag in those games.

I think part of the reason why is because I made my PSN account when I was in the States.
But then again doesn't the matchmaking system pairs you up with "good connection possible" ?

I think I can speak for many here when I say that I gave Activision a chance, but once mid January hits I will be selling my copy of Black Ops in anticipation of KZ3. Better sell yours before the big crash boys.
