How much do you know about the next chapter in the Fallout series?
Oh sure, you're well aware it's out Tuesday, Oct. 19 from Obsidian Entertainment; the role-playing game takes place in the year 2281; and the redesigned V.A.T.S. targeting system now supports special attacks.
But if you're craving more info – something you can drop to your snooty friend who thinks they know everything about this series -- the following are five features of Fallout: New Vegas you probably didn't know, courtesy of Bethesda producer Jason Bergman.
James at HPP writes: "Swapping out a nuclear Washington DC for a rechristened Las Vegas known as New Vegas, this Obsidian Entertainment-developed sequel propels the hallmarks of Fallout 3 to greater heights, thus becoming the ultimate progenitor."
Chris Avellone expands on his earlier claims that Fallout New Vegas dev Obsidian pitched Bethesda ideas for Elder Scrolls spinoffs.
Really Bethesda? Come on
We could have gotten to explore more of the regions or revisit old ones with another developer making them. Would have shortened the time between releases of the main games.
The issue here was Bethesda was butthurt that obsidian managed to develop a better fallout game at the time (new vegas) than theirs (fo3) so they didn't allow it.
It's funny how they're both owned by Microsoft now. They should be able to work together now.
Fallout 4 New Vegas is trying to remake the game but plenty of other volunteer places have given up, and Bethesda isn't helping things by not announcing a remake.
Probably because they don't want to acknowledge Obsidian made a Fallout game that feels a bit more Fallout like.
If Obsidian had a better budget and a full development cycle without being rushed this game could have been bigger and even better than it was.
He'll I'd really like to see them finally show some love to the orginals. Can't even get those on gamepass. Plenty of similar type games have been made for consoles so it can be done. People would go nuts for them. They did the og wasteland(well not bethesada) but just as an example. Bethesada treats the og fallout as bastsrd stepchildren. Why
Because of the game engine. Obsidian's Fallout "needs" to be done on the Creation Engine or else it won't have the same charm as New Vegas. An UnrealEngine based one will feel more like Outer Worlds due the lack of scripting that Creation Engine boast.
Now, the latest Fallout build is of the 76, which looks quite dated and is not fit for a future release.
On the other hand, the latest Creation Engine build is of Starfield, which will require quite a lot of re-work from Bethesda themselves after which Obsidian can work on.(And Bethesda teams are likely busy with Starfield fixes, DLCs and Elder Scrolls 6.) This was not the case case during New Vegas, where Fallout 3 build was readily available and Obsidian iterated over it to their liking and design.
Absolutely nothing to be honest. I mean, I know the game was announced way back but since then I didn't really give a damn to look into any details about it. No screenshots, previews, videos, nothing. Just all the more surprise and suspense for when I play it.
I'll be playing it on hardcore mode I love a good challenge in a game. It's out on friday in the UK i'll probs watch the a few parts of DSP's playthrough before I get it
this sounds like somthing I just might pick up gonna pick up demon souls I have a ton of free time comming
Still not a single review about FO:NV !
That all I know so far :(
Ohh and that the game have casinos but they said or showed nothing about hidden cavez, vaults etc to explore and how many hours does it takes for us to finish the game exploring every thing.
