During Sony's E3 Press conference, Electronic Arts' Visceral Games announced a Dead Space 2 Limited Edition will be coming exclusively to the PlayStation 3. The Limited Edition features the Dead Space 2 PS3 game and Dead Space Extraction (in HD, with PlayStation Move support).
A listing at GameStop reveals that the Dead Space 2 Limited Edition is priced at $59.99, the same MSRP as its Xbox 360 counterpart.
EA has shut down rumors that EA Motive considered a Dead Space 2 remake before shelving it due to low sales of the previous game, saying there's "no validity" to the reports.
Why not remake DS2 whether shot down or not it's still my favorite game next to DS1. As much as I hate EA I would buy or would have bought DS2 day one.

I don't know if sales met their expectations or not. I just know that the high review scores received my attention so I was interested in buying it, but its price stayed high (50+ bucks) for so long that I simply never bothered picking it up.

Well, for starters, I'm sure there are plenty of games I never bought which did, somehow, still, meet their sales-expectations.
Concerning Dead Space; I never played and thus cared for the original. It's in multiple genres (shooter, sci-fi, horror) I don't particularly care about so it was barely on my radar pre-launch. I was never its target-audience.
When reviews hit, and it was scoring big, it gathered my interest, so while it wasn't in my field of interest, it mrans that I wanted to give it a fair shot and at least give it a try, as I do with many games across different genres; I tend to just cherry-pick the good stuff and see if it's for me or not.
But, I do wait for sales on those games I take a risk on.

Though i agree the ai thing is already in other forms of media there have been ai translations/scripts/voice over and even full ai commercials aired on tv. Ubisoft has created a ai game creator story/vo/music except the building of the game

EA is still a shady shitty company even with or without the help of Skynet. All they will use AI for is new ways to milk loot boxes and come up with the same sports title with a different year on the label. They are one company I truly do hate with a passion. My deepest fear at this point is that we are now in the capitalism endgame.
At this point, we really should just burn AI to the ground. Executives cannot be trusted to do the right thing.

Remember when EA used to be awesome? It's all over with now. Unpolished, if not out-right broken games these days. Endless monetization and gambling in their sports games, and let's not forget wasting hours of your life trying to unlock characters or equipment using "surprise boxes!"
I pre-ordered from Amazon already and it didn't say anything about Extraction at all. I'll have to wait and reorder it looks like. But the game looks to be a huge departure from the first and kind of not in a good way. We'll see.
That would be a great deal. So you end up getting Extraction for free. Nice move on Sony's part. Bah, shame I get all multiplat games on 360. Same with Portal. Im torn!

Sony its all about serious business now, going to eat some space from M$ at multiplataform so they can weaken even more the company which doesnt have any great exclusives besides Gears and Halo Reach (and maybe the Crytek one) and also doesn't have any investment on First-party developers.
The only thing Sony could do now to give the final blow its reveal a price cut at GamesCom or TGS so people from Europe can go Ape with GT5 and SingStar and Japan go crazy with GT5 (which sells there too) with Ape Escape or any other treat that Sony has behind close doors.
didn't they say Extraction and Medal of Honor Frontline was coming in every copy standard of Dead Space 2 and Medal of Honor not Limited edition, thats what I heard.
