I don't think it'll be a huge PSP seller. But the hardcore MGS fans will do whatever they can to get their hands on it.

If Metal Gear fans care enough to play Peace Walker I think they should care enough to buy a PSP as well. If this scenario occurs, mark my words, Peace Walker will move PSP units.

yea im a major mgs fan, and this game looks incredible, i wanted to buy a psp when i heard about the demo, but i couldnt, so ill definitely be buying one for the full release. im very excited to get a psp, theres alotta great games for it.

I bought a PSP for this game. Well not just this game, but this is the one that pushed me over the edge.

The last portable I had before this was my GameBoy Color.

I love my PSP now. I download most of my games through PSN and it's great to have such a large selection of games when I'm out on the go. The PSP really doesn't get enough credit.

The only problem is trying to find time to play it between my PS3 and 360.

They better drop PSP Go's price before this one releases.

"Sean Eyestone believes the western Metal Gear Solid fans that haven’t purchased a PSP yet will do so once Peace Walker is released"

^^^Yep. I don't have a PSP yet, and Peace Walker is the game that's really push me overboard. I wanted to get one for Chains of Olympus, and I never got around to buying one... but I am now.

I'm probably going to wait until E3 before I make the decision to buy a PSP, because if a PSP2 is announced and it's backwards compatible with PSP games, I might just wait until the PSP2 comes out... I've just gotta have Peace Walker.

Get one now and play Metal Gear Portable Ops - it's an excellent game as well. And you won't regret buying Chains of Olympus either

EDIT: For some reason I strongly doubt that PSP2 will be BC.

I'm definitely buying it. It's not perfect, due to some strange design decisions (not being able to crawl in a Metal Gear game???) but it's got my money.

It will be a popular game, but sadly won't generate as much revenue, due to PSP piracy.

I think I'll buy a second hand PSP for this and then sell it on when i'm done. I've got no interest in handhelds but i'm a MGS fan.

some really good games on that list. some of my favorites (not on the list) are Metal Slug XX, ultimate Ghosts & Goblins, Gradius Collection, Motorstorm Arctic Edge and Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters.

Knushwood Butt596d ago

Metal Slug XX is surprisingly good.

isarai596d ago

I get that The Warriors is technically a PS2 game ported over, but damn it's amazing on the PSP

roadkillers596d ago

Dark Mirror was the best. Multiplayer and single player was fantastic

roadkillers595d ago

I never tried that one. Once the PS3 was out, I was done with PSP… I would love to see a new one

The Out of Place Artifact - A Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Retrospective

VGChartz's Issa Maki: "Even to fans, the thought that a T-rated game could rank as the greatest is virtually unthinkable; how could the best Metal Gear possibly be a handheld title on a system less powerful than a PlayStation 2? Because it had to be – necessity is the mother of invention. Not only is this a full-fledged Metal Gear, the fresh spin on the gameplay draws from several sources outside of its wheelhouse. Peace Walker somehow manages to be less like its predecessor, Portable Ops, and more akin to Metal Gear Solid V. What boggles the mind is that it would be over five years before The Phantom Pain would release, an entire generation later."
