Peace Walker's development team as big as MGS4's

Sean Eyestone of Kojima Productions says that the Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker development team is as big as the one that developed Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

I'm starting to wonder why this isn't a PS3 title, they're obviously throwing a lot of weight behind it with it being not just the main MGS4 team but seemingly most of the team.

MGS4 set if off for the PS3, after that the games just started pouring in. And maybe Konami thinks that they will get better sales if it is on a hand held in Japan. I'm sure there are a number of factors.

This may be going far out but I have a feeling it's to keep the "true" or at least canonical parts of the franchise on PS. I know there were remakes etc for Xbox and gamecube but you get my point. The way Kojima keeps stressing his envolvement in the game, the fact that the team is huge, how it's essentially MGS5....
Can't wait though. The game will be amazing :D

I would have much preferred it on PS3. I probably won't even play it because it's on PSP. I owned a PSP for less than a year before I sold it, Patapon 2 being the only thing I really played often. Portables really do not float my boat.

Kojima has already said why its a PSP title and not on the PS3.

My guess is that he did want to make it for PS3 as an exclusive but Konami said no. So Kojima put it on the PSP instead and MGS:Rising is multiplatform with Kojima's involvement in name only.

Anyone, and I mean anyone who feels MGS games have good gameplay need to be thwacked in the head with a board and promptly administered electroshock therapy... I, on a whim for amusement and to humor everyone, played, for the very 1st time, MGS 3 sub last night. I've had the game since it came out in the wrapper and last night I finally broke into it...

WOW! What a train wreck. I've never really liked the gameplay in MGS games to begin with. I beat the PSX one and got to the last section on MGS2 but couldn't keep interest in it... 3 was a gift and MGS4 was sold after only 3 hours of playing it on my end.

Why? Because the gameplay is so stiff and so restricting. You automatically hug walls and trees when you walk by them or up to them. It takes2 button presses to lay prone. Hell, I got past the bridge last night on MGS3 and tried to crawl under the 1st little building you're suppose to fo to and couldn't cos everytime I'd either hug the wall or kneel. By the time it was all said and done they'd see me and it'd be a fire fight.

The scenes are long, drawn out and pointless. Why do some of these conversations take place? When I save the game I don't wanna hear about movies this or Godzilla that. I wanna save the game and be done with it.

MGS games are absolute ballz!!! I hate them. I will never play them again and will always scratch my head as to why people like them so much. The stories are lame. The characters are absurd. The dialouge is junk. The gameplay is rubbish. All of it is so below par that it's unfathomable how it's so well received.

I'm sorry to hear that MGS doesn't do it for you. It's personally my favourite series of all time. The story has great depth, the characters are unique, the dialogue is epic and the gameplay is innovate, ground-breaking and just plain fun. It boggles the mind how anyone could not like it.

It's not because I never gave it a shot or didn't try, man. I've played Every single Metal gear game since the Nes days. Hell, I even got around to playing the original versions on the MSX2 system. I loved the series up until PSX and then something shifted and things just went blah for me on the series...

Last night was the 1st time I tried playing MGS3 as I said... but I've played MGS "to completion" and MGS2 to damn near completion. MGS4 didn't work for me... It was a bit better than those but not much. MGS3 is a train wreck all together. Healing yourself. Fixing yourself. The long sessions of hearing two people talk about movies in between the game... It's just not for me. If the controls were more fluid maybe.

where you are comming from, i have friends that cant stand mgs n question me on why im such a fan about it, but the fact that you dont like it does not mean that the franchise is "ballz!!!". Just as you are entitled to hating it other people are entiteled to loving it and i dont think they should get electroshock therapy for loving it OR hating it either LOL. I think a teaser of the game will be released on the 1st of April. Remember on every April's fool day starting from 2 years ago, Kojima released teasers of the upcoming Metal Gears. I think he will do the same this year and the big unveiling will be at this year's E3, most probably during "Microsoft" press conference, that's one sentence I never thought I'd say.
