Director and producer for quirky Wii title Little King's Story Yoshiro Kimura has said that the chances of a sequel are slim unless people "stop buying Halo and start buying Little King's Story".

You'll get a new audience that way. I'm not sure, if it would sell better, but at least a good IP like this, could get a second lease on life.

Hell, who wouldn't want to play a play a Pikmin-type game on the PS3? I sure would. Day 1 buy for me, if you do decide to port it.

Any Wii developers wanting to make some serious money do the following.

Port the code and make it run at 60FPS
Don't compress a thing... it's the PS3 we have hard drives.
Release it for $20 on the store you'll make your money with games like the conduit and Dead space and Mad World all have recieved hype for being hardcore
Every time a game sells you'll make a profit... there's no shipping.

This bothers me, while the game will be EXACTLY the same you wont play it on the Wii...

Gamers of today are messed up, seriously.

@ Sidar - Maybe he doesn't have a Wii and doesn't want to buy one just to play Little King's Story?

Sadly, the quality games for Wii are relatively few, but this one is definitely a little gem.

mrv3215206d ago

I don't own a Wii, but I want to play some of the games.

reintype5206d ago

rrquinta is right on the money. Sadly, I don't have a Wii, and don't plan on purchasing one. I already have a PC/PS3/PSP, anything more beyond that, and I would deem it an extravagance.

No offence to Wii owners or the console itself, I know its good and all, but gaming is an expensive hobby, and having 3 gaming machine to satisfy my gaming needs is more than enough for me.

ChickeyCantor5206d ago

@rrquinta,
Then he should atleast add something like that in his post. It just sounds so typical N4G like.

@reintype

If you knew anything about the game, you'd know that it doesn't use motion control at all.

reintype5206d ago (Edited 5206d ago )

Yeah I know.

The main gripe of most reviews I've read, is that Little King's Story, did not use the Wiimote as a pointer to better control the game. I too find this surprising, given that the game has RTS elements and Managerial aspects on top of everything besides being on the Wii, having the precision of a pointer-like controls would have benefitted this game more.

gaffyh5206d ago

They should just have this as a PSN/XBLA/WiiWare title.

Smacktard5206d ago

asduihuishfdsauidhuasdsa people who don't understand video games and who act like they know what they're talking about piss me off

qface645206d ago

why does every ps3/360 fan always say (insert wii game name here) should be developed for the ps3/360 then sold on the PSN/XBLA for 20 dollars or less
REALLY? where is the profit in this? yeah there might be a little profit but not enough for them to warrant them making it like this

What Marvelous needs to do is find out what Rising Star Games is doing because according to them LKS is still selling well( http://www.cubed3.com/news/... and also the majority of the game's sales were in Europe(over 60K was the last report). I'm sure it was the same with NMH with the European sales making it a success.

Either Rising Star Games is doing something very right or Europeans are more hardcore.:P

Anyway, I think a sequel is coming anyway... just may be not to the Wii. He talked about a DS LKS recently so he'll probably go with that.

Numark5206d ago

I bought it and it was a pretty fun game. Somewhere in the 8/10 range. Too be honest I was little disappointed, but it was still a good game worth playing. More of a rental.

Little King's Story review - ChristCenteredGamer

"Armchair general" is a term in gaming used in strategy games where you're controlling armies from the comfort of your gaming chair. It can be fun and we have plenty of games that explore such an idea in multiple ways. XCOM 2 or Starcraft 2 are great examples of this genre; leading units against enemies in waves and commanding and positioning them can be great fun. Sadly, while Little King's Story is a decent game, its reputation is marred by a poor PC port.
