Games to Avoid this Holiday Season

depends tho, some ppl love those sorta games and they can be especially fun at xmas when ur more likely to have a lot of family or friends round to play...

i know i played a load of GH world tour 1 xmas holiday and then after that never touched the thing haha

caseh, Playing SingStar or Buzz! at parties is always a blast.
Getting a bunch of friends together in a social environment is always a great experience.

what an odd list.

the only 1 that made sense is Tony Hawks Ride cus it's 1 of those games that you would presume is really fun and kids may love the idea of a plastic skateboard game (but infact it sucks)

GT psp. so yes it's not the same GT experience as on consoles, but if u know some1 is a GT fan i'm pretty damn sure they would enjoy this game

and mw2?? it seems to be getting some flak, but that's mainly from the minority. the majority of gamers seem to love it (as indicated by reviews and ridiculous sales figures) chances are if they wanted to play this game they would have bought it long before xmas, but i imagine very few would be dissapointed, particulary the more 'casual' gamers

The author downs one game because of his lack of ability in the game??? DJ Hero is a fresh take on the music genre. It takes some actual skill to play the game...so...learn to play it!!! It is NOT for everybody...just as Rock Band, Guitar Hero, or SingStar are not for everybody. Plus, even though there are several mixes that rehash songs from the list...because it is a new mix...it often feels like a totally different song.
I think most can agree on Tony Hawk's Ride...it has been a critical failure simply because the controls are "broken". If the only way to play the game effectively is on autosteer...what is the point of having the skateboard controller???
GT PSP is still a GREAT game for a handheld. Yes, it took forever to come out. No, it doesn't have a career mode. But, it does have 800 cars with the same great production values that PD is used to delivering. The formula of acquiring money for cars is STILL as addictive as ever. It is GREAT for on the go racing sessions. There is even the same type of challenge that often frustrates the hell out of people with the licenses. Plus, all of the cars that you own can be uploaded to GT5 when it releases. Not a bad deal to me.
IMHO, there are a LOT more stinking turds to avoid this holiday than those that the author chose!!!

I agree with you this article was ridiculous. DJ hero is in fact a very fun game I think the writer just sucked at it so he figure "let me complain about the game. But to each their own, rather then buy expensive games why not shop around for them not everyone sells them for $120.

Kind of funny how 3 games on that list are Activision games and 2 of those are games that require 120$+ for the basic game.

People need to stop hating on MW2. Yes it doesn't deserve all the praise but like similar to GTA IV it is a good game. DJ Hero is a good game in my opinion, too expensive but a good game none the less. The only game on that list that should be avoided is Tony Hawk Ride because it is expensive and a terrible game.

No people should continue to rag on MW2 because it was more hyped the GTAIV and isn't even worth calling mw1.5. it is full of bugs and glitches that IW didn't test thoroughly and now the consumer is suffering for it. Their IWnet is only causing headaches for computer users dumb enough to try it.

Well I think PC gamers have a lot to complain about when it comes to MW2 but console gamers not so much so. I bought the game on PS3 but I paid $39.99. I would not have bought the game if I had to pay $59.99. I also didn't have high hopes for anything revolutionary (graphics, new gameplay mechanics, etc).

owners can hate on it all they want, they heard the BS that Kotick was spewing about Sony and at gamers in general. For that matter, gamers in general should be ragging on it just because Kotick wants to wallet rape every one of us, why should we have any respect for Activision?
