Black Mesa: Gluon Gun Action

Brand new trailer from Black Mesa, the upcoming Source-Engine Remake of Half-Life.

QQcrybaby5248d ago

This has the potential to be spectacular. I hope it works out well and I will be dling this as soon as it's available.

lunaticpanda1015248d ago

when is this going to come out?

STONEY45248d ago

Before the end of 2009, but I'm not sure if they'll hit their goal as they only have less than a month. It'll probably be delayed until next year.

Raf1k15248d ago

It's been in the making for years. I can't even remember when this was originally planned for release.

I wouldn't get my hopes up for an 09 release or even a Q1 2010 release.

STONEY45248d ago (Edited 5248d ago )

Well one of the devs officially stated a few months back that it would definitely release this year, but it looks like it's going to be pushed back, AGAIN.

Rooted_Dust5247d ago

They should still be on target for the end of this month....the videos they show are usually from an earlier point in the mods production.

hmm Christmas Present perhaps? I knew a mod that released a huge update everyone was waiting for as a Xmas present lol

Meh, the longer they wait, the more interest I lose :\

Leminnes5248d ago

Why is that? That just means they're making it better. Which means interest should increase, no? I mean, unless you DO want an unfinished product, that's cool.

Erotic Sheep5248d ago

No, but just look at the releases of 2010, especially in the beginning. Lots of quality games coming out where this will just be overshadowed. If they really want this to become a succes, don't release it in a period where we already have a hard time deciding which games to play.

QQcrybaby5248d ago

All of the games coming out probably pale in comparison to half-life in the source engine though. If they do it right.

Jamescagney5248d ago

Let's remember that at the end of the day it is a mod, it's not being made by a full blown studio and comparing it to games coming out next year made by full teams is not entirely fair.

Kudos to them for even attempting to do what they're doing.

OMG finally. It has been a year since the last trailer. I have been looking forward to this for nearly four years (that's when I first heard about it)

whatever happen to unlocking characters by playing the game? lol

CaptainYesterday3930d ago

I know I miss that so much it sucks when characters and costumes are DLC :(

Blues Cowboy3930d ago

F2P games are starting to realise that. Everything can be unlocked in Planetside 2, for example.

Remember that these games are free, but have to make money somehow. A couple of quid here and there is probably not a big ask for something you'll play for 20 hours +.

That said, I still hate DLC that takes characters and stuff out in full-priced games. Either it's freemium or premium, you shouldn't have both.

Gran Touring3930d ago

Not to mention, Planetside 2's F2P model is pretty well implemeneted in that paying players have no strict advantage over players that dont.
