VIDEO - Dragon Age: Origins' graphic man-elf gay sex

The hugely popular and critically acclaimed new game Dragon Age: Origins features a graphic scene in which a man and an elf have gay sex.

Could this be the latest 'hidden sex scene' scandal in the games industry? The latest in a series of egg-on-face moments since Rockstar's massively controversial 'Hot Coffee' scandal?

Players of the game can see the graphical representation of a man having sex with a male elf by seducing a warrior elf called Zevran.

Perhaps the only real scandal here is the cheesiness of the chat-up lines ("Can you join me in my tent?", "Is there something in your tent that needs assassinating?","I bet you're good at a lot of things")

It would seem that Zevran is perhaps a little too keen to be seduced, in TechRadar's humble opinion…

This is just plain disgusting. No need for this kind of crap in the game.

Myst5260d ago

Well you can bypass it...I mean he is bisexual so just make a female character then you won't have to see it.

TOO PAWNED5259d ago

i found this funny to be honest

NeoBasch5259d ago

oh my god GAY SEX! The world is coming to an end. Who the f#ck cares? I for one appreciate Bioware's efforts in offering gaymers an opportunity to start relationships with the gender they feel drawn to. You think gaymers give a flying f#ck about banging Morrigan as a male, think again. At least now we can get a TRUE romantic experience in a genre that up 'til now was dominated by straight relationships. Personally, I would have gone with Alistair if I could. He's an awesome guy... in a virtual reality kind of way. :D

P.S. You should give the gay angle in Dragon Age a swing if you're straight, and see how we feel for once.

I knew Zevran wanted my nuts...
I think it's great to put this kind of stuff in games. It does add a decent amount of authenticity to the game, and further enrages the anti-gay, far Right voting bloc.

Darkstorn5259d ago

@1.2-
You can bypass it by NOT having sex with Zevran as well...

Oh god.....if it's as graphic as the hot coffee mod then it shouldn't have been two guys, I mean really who wants to see that? Morrigan I WANT YOU WITH YOUR TOP OFF INSIDE MY TENT! NOW!

sandwiches5260d ago

I don't know why homophobes like you are tripping. It's not like you HAVE TO have sex with ANYONE in the game. Gay or not.

SprSynJn5259d ago

Looks like someone wishes he was the elf.

Lionsguard5259d ago

I'll have to agree with sandwiches, the game is great and you're not forced to have sex with anyone. The only way you're gonna end up in bed with the elf is if you ask for it. The game is pretty fun but I'm not a big fan of the fighting. It feels so disconnected, KotoR fighting was way better.

Obama5260d ago

lol...what else can you do in this game?

How'd fallout not make the list. Atleast over cyberpunk, tales , and halo. Fallout been around since what 96 98 and has 5 6 games into it. It's full of lore when you play it. I'd even add star ocean to a point.

robtion474d ago

Agree Fallout should be on there.

MadLad475d ago

And somehow Planescape Torment doesn't even make the list.

Crows90475d ago

Hollow knight surpasses these.

shinoff2183474d ago

In lore? I must be missing something

Crows90474d ago (Edited 474d ago )

Yes in lore. Easily missed... absolutely. Never played a game that had me loving the world and lore behind it as much as that one. Most of course wouldn't be able to experience it since it is a more difficult game.

DarXyde474d ago

I can't speak for all titles on this list, but by the time you get to Dark Souls III, the lore is a bloody tapestry of intricacy

Crows90474d ago

Played them all. Im not saying the games on the list dont have good lore...I just think hollow knight had more lore that is hidden but present and more easily explored and accessed. The souls games have tremendous lore but theyre mostly hidden and stay that way unless you look for it and research it. The lore is not very accessible.

DarXyde474d ago

Crows90,

I think that's a somewhat fair assessment. For me, the Souls games are less upfront about the lore, but it does invite your fascination through NPCs, items, locations, bosses, etc. There's this kind of natural progression where the picture becomes just clear enough by doing the essential tasks, but it really makes you want to explore every inch of the world.

TheColbertinator474d ago

Suikoden and Legend of Heroes also have massive lore setups.

agent13474d ago

narration is more important than lore i'd rather watch the story and characters in a more cinematic way instead of searching for notes and stuff that's why i love sony exclusive games like uncharted and gow and hate from software games

shinoff2183474d ago

The article was top ten lore in video games. I think they did a bad job picking games out. I know what you mean though. I just like a variety of games and genres.
