Bright Hub writes: "The Wii is the most popular game system in America and publishers are doing the best to get as many games out for the system as possible. While this shotgun approach to game design may result in a large number of available titles for the system, it inevitably leads to some great games getting lost in the shuffle and some gamers missing out simply because they never had a chance to check out an excellent game.
Fortunately, we here at Bright Hub have furiously scoured the Wii's back catalog to dig up some unsung gems from the system's library. These great games may never have achieved large sales numbers, but they remain among the best for the system."
Beneath all the Smash and shovelware, the Wii really did have quite a few gems.
Not a bad list.. I would add Excitebots, Kororinpa 1 & 2, Bit.Trip series, Geometry Wars: galaxies
The Origami King beats Super Paper Mario as fastest selling in series.
Well when there are so few 1st party games, consumers are willing to buy regardless of reviews.
I'm having a very good time with this game, it's very comical with some dark tones.
Keanu Reeves appearing in the trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 is far from the strangest celebrity video game appearance. Game Luster's Kate Mitchell highlights gaming's most unexpected voice acting moments.
i guess I am a "nobody" then as I have 3 of those 5 games.
This guy's lists are great. He pretty much nailed it again, but it's unfortunate that Mercury Meltdown Revolution didn't make this list (although it did make another one of his lists!)
I have 4/5 of those games, they're all great, to say the least. I played Super Paper Mario and didn't like it, so that's the only reason I didn't buy it.
i owned all of them and played them all..
zak and wiki was kinda meh once you finish it there is no replay.. paper mario was boring, geometry wars was fun, boom blox was okay though lost its charm after a lil bit, and Madworld looked awsome but i got bored after 30 mins of gameplay.
there is 2 games on my wii that i love.. SMASH BROS, and NO MORE HEROES.. Travis Touchdown is da sh!t.
also mario galaxy was fun.. though playing as Luigi is a bit hard.
The shotgun approach to producing games has only done one thing...create massive amounts of craptastic titles on the Wii. What in the heck happened to the Nintendo Seal of Quality?? Point and click and puzzle games are something most people play for free online.
The funny thing is that I can't think of even 5 games I really like on this system. The launch titles like Zelda, Metroid and Mario galaxy were great, and the recently released Punch out was also terriic. Well that's 4 games... and how long has this system been out, lol.
The new Metroid game looks promising as well as the Super Mario Wii coming out soon but other than that its a wash unless you love kiddie games.
The correct choice for this sort of thing is Little King's Story, which I suspect even less people played than any of the games on this list.
