True to their word, Infinity Ward has no multiplayer trophies in their next game, only single player and co-op trophies are available.

Duh!

Infinity ward never does online achievements or trophies.

sabestar5316d ago

Thank God for that.

I really don't like collecting online trophies, they're such a hassle at least to me (example GTA4).
Maybe bec im more of a single player kindof person

tdogchristy905316d ago

I agree, I enjoy multiplayer but when it comes to achievements, I feel it takes the fun out of what achievement are supposted to bring.

gaffyh5316d ago

The guy said himself in the interview, never say never, so they could have added online achievements. I'm glad they didn't though, because I hate it when your trophy/achievement relies on other people in your team doing good. Also my connection is quite crap, and I get disconnected in a lot of games, and in KZ2 for example, it wouldn't even update your stats so it would have been a waste of 20 mins. :(

SeraphimBlade5316d ago

Yeah, thank God for this. Beating online opponents, ranking up, and moving up the leaderboards are rewards in themselves. That and I totally suck online.

Blaze9295316d ago

Online achievements just ruin the experience. When I hear "hey wanna boost for achievements?" "Sure"....I get upset having to be stuck in that game and cant quit becuase of the penalties.

Then like in Gears of War 1, you had mad noobs just grenade tagging or chainsawing for that damn achievements which could have been made for public instead of ranked matches.

Timesplitter145316d ago

Never cared about trophies, never will

Bnet3435316d ago

This also goes for Xbox 360 achievements in case any one else was wondering. IW doesn't do online cheevos/trophies. The only people that do online achievements the right way is Bungie.

i think it should/can have some multiplayer achievements.
well, unlocks and challenges make up for that.

Clarence Callahan5305d ago

i'm glad there aren't any, online trophies suck imo, but if there would be any i'd like ranking trophies, like reach lvl 75, or unlock prestige mode, because those are trophies everyone will get on the go, and they are very different than for example: kill 3 opponents with 1 grenade, which sucks...
so i like it how it is.

ThatCanadianGuy5316d ago

Ahh..trophies, the superior version of achievements.

deadreckoning6665316d ago

Seriously, wats the difference? Tell me, I'd really love to know.

Elvfam5115316d ago

Is the difference between them

Saaking5316d ago

Trophies are more meaningful than a number that just gets bigger. With trophies you say "look at my trophy collection" with achievements you say "look at that big number" Trophies are better.

JonnyBadfinger5316d ago

Why would it be any different to the Achievements??

@ Saaking
I see your bubbles are disappearing. well we cant have that, now can we. Have a bubble on me. And hopefully everyone else will chip you in one aswell.

Stryfeno25316d ago

Ahh..trophies, the achievements wannabe.

gaffyh5316d ago

You could call the Xbox 360 a PS2 wannabe. Face it dude, everyone copies each other, the main difference is whether they improve on what they copy.

snake_eater5316d ago

PS3 a superior console with a superior reward system.

360 contingent continues to deny that... their little minds cannot handle the truth...

Looking Back At 2008, An Unbelievably Incredible Year Of Video Game Releases

Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."

CrimsonWing691h ago

I don’t think anything can compare to 2023

lucasnooker1h ago

1998 - the best year in gaming! Metal gear solid, crash bandicoot 3, medievil, half life, ocarina of time, thief, tenchu, resident evil 2, Spyro, tomb raider 3, oddworld abes exodus, banjo kazooie.

It was a different breed of a gaming era. You’ll never understand what it was like back then. The aura of gaming, it was different!

KyRo1h ago(Edited 1h ago)

I second this. Gaming was a lot more varied and fun than it is today. I'm 35 so getting on compared to some here but I got to see all the changes from NES up to now but I've never felt so disappointed in any generation than I have this current gen. I was expecting more from this generation rather than prettier versions of games that came before it. Game mechanics have become so refined that alot of games feel the same and has done for a while now.

Maybe it's time to have a break for a while. I love gaming but I don't feel I get much fun in the traditional sense out of it anymore.

Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2, Abe’s Exodus, and Ocarina of Time are the only things from that list that I liked.

Here’s the 2023 game releases that I personally liked… and big releases that I didn’t care for:

- Dead Space Remake
- Wo Long Dynatsy
- Resident Evil 4 Remake
- Diablo 4
- Fire Emblem Engage
- Hogwarts Legcay
- Street Fighter 6
- Hi-Fi Rush
- Like a Dragon: Ishin
- Octopath Traveler 2
- Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters
- Final Fanatsy XVI (actually ended up not liking this, but it was still a big deal release)
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
- Lies of P
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Starfield (Ended up hating this one, but big release)
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder
- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (I’m an old-school Zelda fan, but didn’t really enjoy this game)
- Alan Wake 2

I mean, honestly I’ve never seen a year of major IP releases like that, ever.

6 Fun Games Where You Actually Play As The Bad Guy

While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.

Profchaos7h ago

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Tacoboto6h ago

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

banger886h ago

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).

I never got around to mass effect - I’m skeptical that it would hold up if I were to try it now

Furesis23h ago

I would say it does. The combat is a bit shit for todays standards but everything else is great.

anast21h ago

It's worth a play through today.
