God! How lazy are these articles getting? We had the two part farce of the ODST/MAG comparison last week and this time round we're comparing another unreleased game though, at least, with one we've played!

There's a palette similarity and the bylky lead looks a bit Gearsy but that's where it, and Yecmo's admitted inspration from Gears ends, imo.

We have NO idea how this plays beyond being aware that both games have a cover susyem and are third person shooters(so why no Kill/Switch or MGS comparisons?). We don't know what mopdes, what the story's like or if there are any real areas where the games overlap.

Can't we just judge QT on it's own merits rather than insisting Tecmo's first ever game in the genre(and one which promises female NPC sidekicks, bladed weapon attacks and more melee fighting than Gears)be more original than the game we're comparing it to? There's also a distinct Art Nouveau flavour to QT's backgrounds not present in Gears and as Gears wears it's influences so very well itself maybe that could end up the biggest similarity when QT is released.

Right this minute, however, we have NOTHING bar screenshots to base our comparison upon so why bother? In the end they aren't even in direct competition as they exist on different latforms and aren't releasing anywhere near one another so the only people needing to choose would be late Gears adopting dual console owners! How many folk with a 360 haven't bught Gears yet-if they like the game anyway?

I remember an article from them which said something like halo 3 only sells because a lack of games on 360. If that was the case it still wouldnt explain the over 9 million sales. This site is fanboy trash, and shouldnt be getting through this "N4G crap filter" that supposedly exists.

Its bad enough to compare games constantly. But comparing a game taht they have never played to gears(which they probably never played either) is stupid and desperate.

What Quantum Theory needs is co-op. I;d be shocked and disappointed if Tecmo leave it as a solo single player campaign only, especially when the game utilizes two characters working together.

Personally, I love the shooting mechanics and overall feel of Gears, and I also like the graphics (perhaps not the very best around, but pretty nifty looking nevertheless). I dig it so much I played Gears 1 on both PC and 360 and I'm going through Gears 2 again (lost track of how many times now).

Quantum will have a high standard to live up to as far as measuring up to Gears. I hope it does, but it won't be easy.

Sorry Kionic, from what I've remember from both games the cover system for Gears of War and Kill.Switch works exactly the same and not inspired; granted I played Kill.Switch a long time ago, so I'm not 100% on that. Do you have specific examples of how the cover system is different? Thanks.

Stupid droid, I own a PS3 and I'll be getting Uncharted 2 the only game for 2009 besides KZ2, and God of War III and GT5 in 2010 (if GT5 isn't further delayed to be a PS4 launch title in 2012). You may keep MAG and Ratchet and clank CIT.

Gears 2 perfected some things that Killswitch did. Uncharted borrowed from Killswitch/Gears also. You can borrow, if one makes it better. This game Quantum Theory makes it worse.

I'm looking forward to Quantum AS LONG AS the speed increase is enough. I just could not get on with Gears due to the speed of movement. I really tried, I WANTED to enjoy gears when I finally got to play it last christmas but the speed of the game really put me off. I know I'm in the minority on that and I'm not saying Gears is a bad game... It's just not for me.

As long as the speed is increased in Quantum I'll be happy. I'm looking forward to throwing my girlfriend at enemies as a missile =)

just doesn't look 'right'. i was watching it thinking what was up and then i realised, the guns just don't seem very powerful. like when he's firing it the sound just doesn't sound v gd and when the bullet (or whatever they're firing) hits the enemies, it doesn't seem to register, like theres no blood or any sort of flinch from the enemy, just looks odd.

but I can see what you mean. Watching that video, it really looked cheap. Maybe because I was expecting it to be more like gears(after hearing all the comparisons), but it looked like the enemies just stood there and all the characters looked stiff.

The animations look like something out of quake 2. The enemies just stand there while you shoot them. Im sure they will improve it before release tho.

Personally, I have more gaming experience than %99 of the reviewers on metacritic.
Those people don't enjoy games, why would gamers care what they thought. If I had to rush thru gaming to get a review out & look for all the cons I would be pissed.

People that use metacritic as a source to help decide what to play are puppets.
All you really need is dev interviews, previews & gameplay footage. Then you review the game yourself & take as long as you want to beat it.

Gears of war crushes Quantum Theory in every category.

The story of Quantum Theory will not be as epic and heart-wrenching as Gears of War. It will also not have as good music as Gears considering GoW2 has one of the best soundtracks in recent memory with epic pieces perfectly matching the grand scale of the game, and the graphics of Quantum Theory are pathetic; even the original Gears of war back in 2007 looks better than it:

People that thing this game is a copy of Gears, then you must be really dumb or your brain just overheated on you. Going by what the Japanese Trailer is, the game looks awesome an its about dark like Gears (Then again what game now a days isn't dark?) and you can choose from playing as the guy or chick an the style you play changes to.

You can play as shooter that moves kind of slow but hits hard or the chick that is in your face shooting you or cutting at you.

Just like DMC copycats, Sega's little DMC game looks to be pretty good an everyone copy's everyone idea. PS3 gets a new good FPS, 360 will have Halo, Halo an price dropping is so far want Microsoft has for back up plans.
