I think it's a money-making scheme on people who don't know otherwise.

Yeah disc is cheaper but disc scatches and takes up space in your house. I go on trips to see family and they ask me to bring games, now all I have t pack is a memory card with my account/gamertag. Now I can sell my Bioshock, AC, COD2 and Mass Effect to peole who prefer a disc.

I was under the impression that all the games releasing to "on demand" would be at $15. Not sure why but somewhere I thought I read that so seeing $30 was a bit of sticker shock but its the same price as on Amazon so no biggie I suppose.

This is a biggie. At $30, the game will cost the consumer more money than a retail version of the game. For one, no physical disc format, there's no casing, no manual, and no retail distribution which means no shipping. How can they charge us the same price as retail if all of those things are absent. The point of digital distribution is too reduce the resale of used games cutting into the profits of publishers, not to abuse the consumers' wallets. It's like the lesser of two evils. Those greedy neck-tie wearing bastards that make decisions like this bring home a healthy paycheck and sit down with their families at dinner and try to convence their families about how hard there jobs are. There's absolutely no excuse for the $30 price of a digital distrubuted game. This stuff is getting way out of hand.

Funny thing is the retail disc game is 19.99$... I don't get it. Whats the benefit of games on demand? Serious question. I have been out of the loop for a few weeks(Vacation) I am assuming it's digital distribution but how is it different from what live already offers? I know you can already get full retail games(Burnout paradise) on XBL and PSN already... So I don't get it. It's more expensive then a retail disc with no trade in value or collectible status in any way right?

This digital distribution thing is a joke. Instead of passing on the saving to the consumer they are just cutting out the middleman (retail) and keeping the extra for themselves. What's worse is that MS tries to rip you off on the hard drive you have to use to store the game. So they rip you off on storage and the actual product. Anyone that would fall for this is either really lazy (can't be bothered to put a disc in) or just plain stupid.

Is just poor like Kenny from South Park, and he's a bitter droid. Damn dude I live in middle class and I can download this game in 20-30 min. Poor droids can't afford a good connection because they are to broke from buying a PS3.

average american download speed is about 2MBPS and if the game is about 6-7 gigs (total esitimate) then it would take 5-7hours for a full game (and seriosly fuk you to the bots above^, im basing the time on a dirty yanks connection speed not mine from the UK)

there is no install unless you choose to install it to the HDD. It is on disc and you get both games for 36.99.

I actually think its pretty cool to have a full game on your hard drive without having to change the discs. Isnt the disc read error a problem with some consoles? Plus the convenience of buying a game from your couch. I think its cool..

I think MS is going for the impulse buyer who will see this, heard of Bioshock but too lazy to go out and hunt down a used copy. For those that do this is a bit of a slap in the face.

I totally agree that for a DD only game $15-$20 is reasonable.

That's crazy. I bought that game at the beginning of last year at $20. It is well worth the $30 price tag but you can find it elsewhere for a lot cheeper.

It looks like the only time i'll be buying a game off the Games On Demand service is when it will be part of the "Deal of the Week".

30 bucks, the bots are getting ripped off. You can find the game as cheap as $15. I think there was a discount on steam a few months ago where they sold it at like $5.
