PS3 Sixaxis controller drivers for Vista 64 bit.

Recently new drivers have been released for 64 bit Vista and Windoes 7 systems that finally allow the use of the PS3's Sixaxis controller. Not only does the controller work, but the the drivers also support the Sixaxis motion tilt capabilities.

Tested it out on my Vista Ultimate 64 bit.
I was surprised when the motion controls worked.
I played some Mario Kart 64 in an N64 emulator with the motion controls, and worked amazingly, though still needs a bit more setup.

Hey, that's awesome, does the sixaxis work in exchange for anologue or D-Pad?

lilmetal5454d ago

I set it to the analogue stick, but you can set it to the D-Pad, or buttons, or whatever.

Just played another racing game with the motion controls, and it was near perfect.

Cajun Chicken5454d ago

Awesome, I'm going to try to get this working on my SNES emulator with Mario at some point. Quite like the idea by jumping by tilting the controller up.

iamtehpwn5454d ago

I've been looking for this for ages.

iamtehpwn5454d ago

much like the people in comments.

Running Windows Vista x64.

lilmetal5454d ago

Seems to be either hit and miss for the most part.
It worked for me right off the bat though.
What I did was uninstall the old drivers I had, then followed the directions.
I didn't restart until I enabled test mode via DSEO.
Then went to test it, and it was all good.

AWESOME!! I got a "backup" copy of some post apocalyptic game with horrible animations, and low to none support for ps3 owners, and I want to play it for free :D. I want to finish Gears of War too, I bought it before to get my ps3 and I left it unfinished. Nice.

lilmetal5453d ago

I don't have a DualShock 3 controller to test that.

KKanjiAnkh5454d ago

LMFAO man, I lou youtubin Mugen, Ronald McDonald FTW "Hambuga."

Allowen5454d ago

I gave up a long time ago to try to use my DS3 and normal sixxaxis on my PC, It is so complicated ....

I ended buying a cheap wired xbox360 controler and wow ! Every game just accept it np and I got used to it now that I am preffering it more over the Sony's control.

Amplitude5454d ago (Edited 5454d ago )

I remember needing to play Bioshock with that POS uncomfortable wired 360 controller. I seriously don't get how people like it better than the Dualshocks.
Of course, by the time i beat Bioshock i was pretty much used to it. No doubt about it though, that is by far one of the worst controllers i have ever played a game with.

<EDIT: I meant to reply to menoyou... woops. Whatever though>

Ju5454d ago

I did the same. It's not that I like the 360 controller better (I just hate to use triggers to fire), but it just works out of the box in most cases. Most games recognize the 360 controller right away and change their behavior, while with a standard pad (and that is what the Sixaxis becomes) is always tricky to configure and map buttons. I bought a MadCatz 360 clone controller for $24. Its all good now.

If those Sixaxis drivers will start emulating the 360 controller and add motion sensing and allow you to swat L/R1<>L/R2 (trigger and shoulder), and games would see it as a 360 game pad, that would be awesome.

menoyou5454d ago

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I don't have to use that crappy 360 controller anymore, praise the heavens.

trancefreak5454d ago

Ive been using the wireless 360 controller on my pc and Ive been loving it. Almost all games recognize the controller by default which is nice. I would prefer to use the ps3 remote because im more accustomed to it personally though.

ShinFuYux5454d ago

Now I can play some fighting games without that crappy wired 360 controller.

The directional Pad buttons are horrible with the 360 controllers. But that's different with the PS3 DS3 controller.

Star Wars Outlaws Jabba the Hutt Mission Can Only Be Access via Season Pass

There is a Star Wars Outlaws mission featuring Jabba the Hutt that's available on day one but exclusive to Season Pass owners.

Not defending Ubi. It's a crappy thing to do. But it's only one Hutt mission. There are other Hutt missions.

No matter how good this game turns out to be, it is a wait for a deep sale purchase for me.

It's A Crime That There's No Sleeping Dogs 2 Yet

Huzaifah from eXputer: "Sleeping Dogs from the early 2010s is one of the best open-world games out there but in dire need of a resurgence."

LG_Fox_Brazil21h ago

I agree, I consider the first one a cult classic already

isarai15h ago

You say "yet" as if it's even possible anymore. United Front Games is gone, along with anyone that made this game what it is

CrimsonWing691h ago

That’s what happens when games sell poorly. And I’ve seen people wonder why people cry when a game sells badly… this is your answer.

solideagle42m ago

Majority of the time it's true but if a company/publisher is big (in terms of money), they can take a hit or 2. e.g. I am not worried about Rebirth sales as Square will make Remake 3 anyway but if FF 17 doesn't sell then Square might need to look for alternative. <-- my humble opinion

Abnor_Mal22m ago

Doesn’t Microsoft own the IP now since they acquired Activision?
