If you miss titles like MechWarrior and the latest F.E.A.R. game barely touched the sides, chances are you'll be rather interested in an upcoming total-conversion mod for Crysis. It's called MechWarrior: Living Legends (MWLL) and the developer is making it into one very impressive BattleMech fest. Clearly putting a lot of working into making it a fully-fledged mech title, the team goes so far as to call it a simulator.
"[We're] working hard on creating a MechWarrior experience that long-time fans of the franchise as well as curious newcomers will be able to have a great time with," says mod developer Wandering Samurai Studios. "MWLL is, at its very core, a mix between first-person shooter and simulation," it says, stunningly enough proceeding to label it as a massively multiplayer experience. "This will be achieved through the use of a mixed arms massively multiplayer gaming experience where the player takes part in a battle using a variety of vehicles and weapons".
Wandering Samurai Studios has released some new screenshots for the upcoming 0.9.2 version of MechWarrior: Living Legends. These new screenshots showcase the Anubis light ‘Mech, the Mithras light tank, and some other goodies that will be included in it.
MechWarrior: Living Legends is a total conversion mod for Crysis set in the BattleTech universe that was developed by Wandering Samurai Studios. This modding team released the latest official version of its mod in 2013 and after almost four years, a new team decided to step in and revive it.
DSOGaming writes: "Gouty McGouterson has informed us about some news for the supposedly 'dead' mech mod for Crysis Wars, Mechwarrior: Living Legends."
I met the guy behind this mod, hes an american living in germany because he works for crytek now. He says there still workn on this, but personally i dont htink its ever coming out. Too many issues to run into like vehicle netcode.
They need to make it like the intro to part 3. Would be nice if the buildings would take damage and fall to it's side to block a road. Maybe blow a whole in the side of a building to shoot through the hole and use the building as cover. Maybe also have a secondary mode or breakaway module added to the mechs. Was nice playing mechwarrior on the PC with flight sticks. Miss Mechwarrior games.
It would feel good to jump into a thor again and take down some missle boats spec ops style.
