Rumors: Diablo III Release Date and System Requirements

Website Kaputik has supposedly obtained release date and system requirement info from an insider working on Diablo III. As with all Internet rumors this is to be taken with a grain of salt.

I highly, highly, highly doubt that Diablo 3 will be released in 2009. Late 2010 at the soonest.

I'm kind of expecting it early- to mid-2010, with a Starcraft release each holiday.

But anyway, Blizzard never sets release dates very far in advance, and while I'm sure they have rough internal timelines I'd bet they don't even have dates set internally. I don't think there's any date that could leak that would be correct because Blizz simply hasn't set one.

I don't know about this tho...

I read someplace they want to do 1 big Flagship game a year... Starcraft 2 ... then diablo 3 ... then wow expansion.
on the other hand... Starcraft is 3 games... Diablo will get a hand full of expansions... sooner its out sooner expansions come...

Also there In the works of a new MMO n i wouldn't be surprised if they did a War craft 4 someday.

Plus with the growth of the company it wouldn't surprise me if we got multiple games a year.

With the Activision Merger i wouldn't be shocked to see Blizzard games go to consoles... Blizzard stated that they would be fine going to consoles if... the Console players will be playing with the PC players.

Why plastation hasn't got WoW yet is beyond me but... Mabey well get D3

I figure, if you can run WoW, you can run Diablo III. Obviously a higher-end PC will look better but Blizzard is good about getting the game to run and look good on lower-end PCs.

I mean for a game releasing in 2009 or 2010 it should be at least 2.3 Ghzs required along with a good video card

KruLLit5520d ago (Edited 5520d ago )

This could be the worst rumor ever.

Edit: I'm pretty sure Starcraft 2 will come out this year. But no way Diablo 3 will.

I love the full game release date - Dec 24th. A freakin Thursday. Hilarious!

*raises a glass* Here is to hoping. But I'm not going to hold my breath, December is a long time to go without that whole breathing thing =/

Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky have to be up there. We're lucky and cursed, equally, to have games that can be updated now. For folks old enough to remember the Sega/SNES into PS1 and even 2 eras, if a game came out that was half baked (*cough*Angel of Darkness*cough*) that was it, no redemption. At the same time, having the option for updates shouldn't be an excuse for half assing games.

I remember when the Nintendo Seal of Approval meant something.

All those games had to release without bugs.

Comebacks shouldnt be a thing in videogames. Just saying.

Diablo III - Still a Huge Draw in the Face of Diablo IV

Diablo III still works on modern PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and remains hugely playable a decade after initial release.

Palitera388d ago

Are you comparing a continuously improved 10+ years old masterpiece with the... beta of an unreleased game?

kevco33387d ago

Heh, yeah. There's no comparison in here! Its a commentary on how III is still very playable over a decade later.
