Examiner: "Not content with the real baseball bat you get in the mail for beating prostitutes in Grand Theft Auto IV? Have I got a deal for you! Massively multiplayer online collectible real-time strategy game SAGA (quite the mouthful) is the center of a new contest in which the grand prize is none other than a ballista.
Yes, I said a freaking ballista. Not entirely sure what a ballista is? Well, step one involves looking at the picture associated with this article, but if that's not enough for you, let's just say that it's like a giant crossbow designed for hurling boulders and huge arrows made out of tree trunks."
SaGa series creator Akitoshi Kawazu briefly discussed a new entry in the SaGa series on Twitter today. “The next one will also have multiple protagonists,” Kawazu said in response to a tweet asking for the next game not to have several main characters.
Square Enix have been sharing more about the SaGa series this year for its 25th anniversary, and creator Akitoshi Kawazu had a little more to share in this week’s special edition of Dengeki PlayStation.
“We’re in the middle of developing a new SaGa game,” Kawazu told Dengeki as for what he’s been up to lately. “I believe we’ll get to announce more information [soon].”
There’s been a lot of events for the SaGa series so far this year in celebration of its anniversary, like the special event with themed foods and porcelain plates by illustrator Tomomoi Kobayashi as part of their collaboration with Saga Prefecture of Japan.
Earlier this summer, Kawazu stated revealed that they’re working on a new title, and things are advancing steadily. There’s going to be a NicoNico Livestream for the SaGa 25th anniversary on December 14 as well, so we might hear more about the new game then.
Japanese company doesn’t say how many jobs it cut in U.S. operations.
good lucks to those who have been laid off, hopefully they will end up with some good job opportunities.
Dang, hope they get hired by another company then.
This doesn't really look very good for gaming, Sega bought Atlus which is sort of good but then.. Sega is closing Kazuya sites outside of Japan.
& now they're laying off staff in America.
I hope it doesn't mean we get less Japanese games from Atlus, etc.
WTF?!?!
What is Saga? Cookigaki has never heard of this game.
A ballista could come in handy some day I suppose.
I can see the news headlines though; "Games provide murderers-in-training with real weapons of mass destruction!"
The winner testing it out in the middle of a field (like the Ratchet and Clank commercials) and it hits a house LULZ
I want one, then I can kill people then blame Massively multiplayer online collectible real-time strategy game SAGA just like people do with GTA 4!
