Everyone knows that you sell more of something when it is cheaper, the economists call it price elasticity of demand. So in the days of budget games for 8 bit home computers we sold, quite literally, millions of games. At one stage at Codemasters we had over 27% of the total UK game market.
Farbridge's upcoming VR RTS Homeworld: Vast Reaches will be available for Meta Quest headsets from 2nd May 2024.
The official launch of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is finally upon us! The game is now available for PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and PC.
Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."
I really don't think Microsoft or Sony is just going to put a $1.00 price tag on all of their top games like Gears of War 2, Dead Space, Far Cry 2, LittleBigPlanet...
haha lol, It'd be nice though for a change..
O.O
Software Pirates are the Cat and Mouse of the 21st century.
There was... Cowboys and Indians,
... Cops and Robbers,
and finally... Software Pirates and The F.B.I
If games were $20 I'd definitely buy more and have little incentive to pirate. At the least prices need to be scaled more on quality.
I think this article is a little alarmist. Sure piracy is a problem, but there's still tonnes of people who do actually pay for games. It's when companies like EA release draconian DRM in a game like Spore, that will increase piracy. People do NOT want to be locked down when they actually buy a game. Many honest people who WANTED to pay for the game turned to piracy because they didn't want to be locked down.
Good on Bethesda for releasing Fallout 3 with 0 DRM. They know it doesn't make a difference. If people want to pirate, then pirate they will.
Go retire and perhaps get a picture on your blog that doesn't look like you want to give a hard boiled lolly to a child.
Your getting as bad as Jack Thompson in the fact I would love to tear you a new one, get rid of these grey haired people in the gaming industry you have no idea on any subject.
I suppose at least he wasn't blowing Microsoft for once with the article.
