Swiss gaming magazine GBase asked Techland what happened to the military shooter Warhound which was announced a few years ago. They've learned that the project is on ice right now but maybe in the future Techland will continue to work on it.
I'm with you Shifty. I've been waiting for Dead Island, Chrome 2 and Warhound for literally years. I enjoyed/was happy to support Juarez Bound in Blood and I remember reading an article that it sold pretty well overall yet Techland still hasn't said or done anything since.
Why would they work on any other game? Dead Island and Warhound are both promising new shooters that have the potential to have sequels. Chrome 2 is already a sequel to an established series, (Chrome was solid for its time, SpecForce was excellent) so if they iced Warhound and Dead Island it better for that. Anything else would be a MISTAKE.
TVGB: "There's been quite a bit of chit, and chat, around the water cooler in the last week or so about Techland's future offerings now that Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood has been tagged and released. Dead Island, the game that mixes palm trees, crystal clear waters and zombies, was the first to get inquired about. Thankfully that one is still being worked on, and has even found a publisher. But there's been no word on their other two titles that were announced many years ago but haven't been talked about in quite a while - Warhound, an open-ended first-person shooter, and Chrome 2, the sequel to 2003's sci-fi shooter. We got in touch with Techland to see what was up with these titles and walked away with both good and not so good news."
I'm quite impressed by techland and their chrome engine. COJ:BiB is a really good looking game at times and I can't wait to see what dead-island and hopefully warhound look like.
In 19 days, it'll be two years since Joystiq last heard anything about Call of Juarez developer Techland's "open ended FPS," Warhound. So, when they heard last week that the developer was still working on its zombie-infused Dead Island, they shot Techland an email and asked about the game once intended to rival Crysis' graphics.
Looks like vaporware to me(Warhound). It might as well be in the same page as Duke Nukem Forever or Wardevil.
Dead Island is a good concept and they really need to avoid screwing that up
Warhound sounds cool to me and the graphics are not that bad (plus its not set to release untill Q4 2007 so I would imagine that the graphics will shape up by then.) I personally like beign a MERCH because too many games always want to place you in the role of the "Hero" and give you the blueprint of what is to be done but being a Merch allows one to make you're own choices and play however you want.
I've also always like merc games. It'll be interesting to see how this one turns out.
Im getting sick of FPS shooter games. Every 2 months it`s a new one.
Huh Seems like a Mercenary clone.. Hopefully they improve on the game looks cool thought cant wait.
i really dont get it :/ there are alot of pc directX 10 games comming to the xbox360 wich im not mad at by no means, but they said that there will be no directX 10 comming to the xbox360. so will it or will it not be on the 360?
