In another case of news that makes up fanboys' dreams, we've got another case of missing Ps. This time it's Grand Theft Auto IV on PlayStation 3, which has been discovered to run at only 630p – well short of the 720p you find in the 360 version.
You can find a fairly simple explanation of what that means on Kotaku, but anyone who's played the game or checked out GameVideos' side-by-side comparison of the game knows that the game looks great on both consoles. There's a slight difference with the color palettes in the two versions, and the slightly warmer colors in the PS3 version might just be a result of Rockstar using the processing power on something other than displaying those extra 90 lines.
Ultimately, while fanboys might bicker and argue about which technical detail makes for the superior version, the rest of us can go on with enjoying a terrific game.
VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."
3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them

God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best
Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...
5, 3, 1, 4, 2.
I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.
But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me
Activision and Raven Software's 2006 action role-playing game, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, has found its way to the Xbox Store.
Used to love this one, but X-Men Legends 1 and 2 will always be my favorites, especially Rise of Apocalypse. Would pay some good money to play it today with online multiplayer, back then I had no way to get a modem
I remember buying them dirt cheap on the PS4 and then a few days later I read they were delisted. I was wondering why the bundle was price so low and got my answer when that happened.
Sad to say this is one game franchise next to the Xmen that needs a sequel. I use to play the hell out of Xmen Legends and Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Was great when my cousin had the OG Xbox play with four other people and then playing online. Great games glad to see it reappear even though I own the discs love the mechanics of this game.
Misleading. This page is whats available for people who owned the game prior to delisting.
Get the scoop on Comedy Central's exciting new cartoon show inspired by the iconic Golden Axe video game
Golden Axe is a great game I enjoyed it on the SMS, Genesis and in the arcade. Great game but it truly was a quarter eater back in the day. I wish Sega could get the rights to the arcade port of Moonwalker another great arcade game I enjoyed. Collect so many monkeys and become Robo Michael lol.
No one...it only matter if its Halo.
lol...you cant even tell.
my 360 has more pixels on screen but it doesn't look as good :(
runs at a lower framerate than the PS3 :(
Has more pop in than the PS3 :(
less control flexibility than the PS3 :(
Didn't include my 50 million dollar content for free :(
Why is MS waisting so much money and my copy isn't better :(
Why is the ps3 version of gta4 so buggy?
I thought Gamesradar or someone debunked this?...they said their comparison used straight uncompressed 720p video from both consoles 'confirming the two machines rendering in the same resolution'...
the guy on B3D also said he didn't know how new or old the screenshot was for the PS3 version of GTAIV...Game Informer had an article confirming the PS3 and 360 versions being rendered at the same resolution...
it doesn't matter to me...I own the PS3 version, and it does look great...and runs great (especially for a GTA game)...its just this would turn out to be really lame if they do indeed run at the same resolution...
Swedish gaming mag Gamereactor said that there are MAJOR DIFFERENCES between the 2 version
http://www.gamereactor.se/r...
Swedish Gamereactor mentioned in their 10/10 review that they were pretty surprised regarding the difference between the PS3 and 360-versions. The PS3-version features better colours, contrast, load times and what looks to be better resolution textures. The game also looks sharper and has a more stable fps.
IGN

"For those wanting to know which version looks better, the edge goes to the PS3. The textures and framerate are comparable, but the PS3 has far less pop-in. The 360 has richer colors, but the PS3 has better anti-aliasing making it look a little cleaner. Because GTA IV can preload onto the PS3 hard drive, the in-game loads are faster. Don't worry Xbox owners, the load times are rarely more than 30 seconds and don't occur very often. The slight visual edge goes to PS3, but the 360 is no slouch. Either version will do you proud".
X360 version has FR dips too . more frequent than the PS3 version
"Past GTA titles have had mild-to-serious framerate issues and technical glitches, because the games were trying to do far more than the PlayStation 2 could handle. While GTA IV is pushing the PS3 and 360 to the limit, it also runs amazingly well. Sure, there are framerate hitches here and there and (particularly on 360) there is some texture pop-in, but it actually runs better than I expected. That a game with great AI, an awesome physics engine and a detailed open world runs so well and with such short load times is a technical marvel. For that, I can forgive framerate issues and some noticeable aliasing. "

"Occasional pop-up".........ONLY IN X360 version of GTA4
http://xs226.xs.to/xs226/08...
So happy that i own a PS3
GAMESRADAR also confirms that PS3 version is SUPERIOR
"While the PS3 and 360 versions of the game are functionally identical, the PS3's visuals sport noticeably smoother edges, along with a warmer color palette that makes everything look slightly more realistic. If you're looking to compare Accomplishments with your Achievement-hoarding friends, though, forget it - GTA IV ignores these half-assed consolation prizes altogether. PS3 owners also have to put up with a nearly eight-minute installation the first time they start the game, which puts the normally slower Blu-ray load times on par with the Xbox 360 version. (That is, unless it's running on a 360 with no hard drive, which we're told will face much longer loads.)"

VIDEO COMPARISON between GTA4 PS3 and WASHED OUT VERSION OF GTA4 ON x360
You can easily determine the best version from a series of Comparison videos
Gamevideos
http://www.n4g.com/News-140...
As seen in the video one version sports SLIGHTLY brighter and more saturated colours . Look at the water at the end. Look at the ROADS.
You could compare this video to IGN's comparison
http://www.onlineflvplayer.... http://media.rockstarwatch....
Spoiler
look at the DIFFERENCES in COLORS of the cars/ shadows/ roads. Notice that one features yellow stripes on the roads which appear as white stripes on the other version. Notice the shadows which appear dark orange on one version. Notice the car which appears slightly more greenish on the ps3 version. The yellowish green tint is VERY MUCH NOTICEABLE in one version only. see the comparison footages from 3:00 to the end to base your judgement
