No TF2? Free to play, great game for people new to PC cus it's still fun even if you're terrible.

I've lured at least a dozen of my friends into PC gaming through TF2 over the last four years.

SoundGamer4487d ago

TF2 is a great game, no doubt. But the author was obviously limited to 10 games.

It's hard to fit in every single great PC game out there with just 10 slots.

Article even says it's not a list of the only good PC games out there. Hell, it's not even a top 10 list.

Pandamobile4487d ago

Still makes no sense to leave out a game as accessible and fun as TF2 out of a list of the supposed "10 Must Have Games If You're New to PC Gaming"

@Pandamobile

By you adding "the" in front of "10" it adds a whole new meaning making a list conclusive as the only ones that are must haves. IE: Not what the article was suggesting.

The article says clearly, there are many other great PC games not mentioned.

Very very very hard to limit this to ten.......and how the hell is Half Life 2 or Deus Ex not on the list?

Also they should have at least added a Mod. Mods are so very important to PC Gaming.

You just answered your question when you said, "Very very very hard to limit this to ten"

A lot of great games obviously got left off of list, doesn't mean that the author thinks any less of them though.

Edit: Also, modding was mentioned in the article if you read it all.

I'm Replaying Skyrim (again), and So Should You

Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.

anast13d ago

I tried, but it's a poorly made game that insults its customers.

lucian22913d ago

nah, only mods make it decent, and even then it's bad, and this is after i modded for at least 3 years

Nittdarko13d ago

Funnily enough, I'm about to play it for the first time in VR with 1000 mods to make the game playable, as is the Bethesda way

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave13d ago (Edited 13d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
